Really easy company to deal with. Rob came round and we had a chat about what we wanted before measuring available roof space. We discussed the advantages and disadvantages of having a battery and he offered to supply two quotes; one with and one without. Quotes were detailed, setting out estimates for generated power over the year, and payback time calculations. We decided to forego the battery for now because we will use most of the energy as it's produced. No pressure to go with either option and no hard sell. Designed system has 14 x 435 Watt panels (6kW) with an east / west split. A dormer on the West side means there's less space for panels on the west part of the roof. Accordingly we generate most power in the morning and less power in the evenings but having panels on both sides means we generate some power all day. We were interested in having solar fitted as part of replacing the roof which was original to the house (50+ years old!) and leaking. We opted for an in-roof design and RJ Solar were happy to work with our roofers. I think they'd worked together before and I was able to hand off the specifics to RJ Solar and the roofing company to sort amongst themselves which was great and avoided me being the go-between re dates / design etc. Roofing company stripped the old roof, installed new felt and battens and then handed over to RJ Solar to fit the panel trays and cables. Then the roofers came back and tiled round before RJ Solar came back a second time to fit the panels. Good communication between the companies and myself, and if I needed to ask a question RJ Solar were contactable by email and phone. The guys working on the roof and inside my home were at all times professional and worked quickly and safely. Happy with the result, inside and out. I think it's clean and tidy install. Externally, the panels blend in with the roof and are hardly noticeable. Internally, the inverter, meter, cable routing and switches are all where I wanted them to be and care has been taken with alignment, clipping of cables, and labelling as appropriate. Following the install I was sent my MCS certificate to apply for a feed-in tariff. Now if I can only get my electricity company to do their bit, we might get paid for the electric we generate!
