S and A Heating Ltd are an experienced trusted family business based in Torquay, providing high quality plumbing, bathroom and central heating services. Trading since 1977 we have over 48 years experience in the plumbing/ heating industry.
We are based in Torquay where we have an excellent reputation as a local trusted and reliable company and we also work all over the South West
Our professional team of gas engineers are polite, clean, trustworthy, willing to help and most importantly are able to cater for all your domestic requirements in a time frame to suit you.
We are Gas Safe, OFTEC and NAPIT registered, a registered Energy Efficiency installer and Green deal installers.
In February 2018 (aired on BBC1 in May 2019) we took part in the DIY SOS Big Build in Torquay donating our skill and expertise in installing the plumbing and heating in the home for an amazing cause.

We needed a new boiler and were worried about how to fund this, thankfully we found S&A who at the point of coming to survey our needs identified that they could offer finance which was a great relief. They then found us a great deal on interest free finance. Once the application was done - this was straightforward and both James and Shawn were super helpful, they were able to arrange fitting at a time that suited us. On the day Richard was friendly and professional and cracked on with the job. He left absolutely no mess in the house and took away the old boiler and gave us a thorough walk through of how it all worked. Would highly recommend.

S&A Heating Ltd fitted my new boiler on 17th January 2025. I had no hesitation in booking this well-established company as they fitted my previous boiler in 2008 to my complete satisfaction. There was no sales pressure whatsoever, each phone call was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. The price quoted was acceptable and the new boiler was fitted very proficiently on the agreed date by Richard, the same fitter who fitted my original boiler in 2008. Richard gave me a very helpful run-through of the new boiler/thermostat controls which was appreciated. On leaving the old boiler was taken away and my home was left as found. Very happy!

I contacted James at S&A Heating Ltd about replacing my old, inefficient, and expensive-to-run electric boiler. I explained that I had a big open plan room that was impossible to heat, as well as problems with the water flow and he visited soon after. The appointment wasn’t rushed, and he took the time to really understand the problems and was able to make recommendations to help solve the problem. I knew before I received the quote, which was very reasonable, that having met him and read the previous reviews that I wanted his company to do the work. He arrived to do the install with Richard, and they worked solidly for two days. They were extremely easy to get on with, they knew exactly what they were doing and nothing was too much trouble. They were very punctual, tidy and didn’t leave until they had made sure I knew how the system worked and was happy with it. I can thoroughly recommend them.

My old boiler of 17 years broke down & was condemned in July 2024. As I am in receipt of pension credit, I applied for help from various companies who followed the Government's Eco Scheme. However, after several enquiries I found out that because my old boiler was a condenser boiler, and because my house is listed and in a conservation area, I was disqualified from getting any help. Thank goodness I was told about LEAP and Exeter Community Energy. “These people realise that you need a new boiler, and they don’t mind if your old boiler was a condenser, nor what type of house you live in, they just see that you need a new boiler". I was told. I rang LEAP in July, and was told that they were not taking applications until October. I rang again in late September, as they suggested. Shaun Caddick from Exeter Community Energy visited me, and asked me various questions. He took details of the old boiler. Then checked things around the house. He was very kind and was optimistic that I would get help. I felt reassured. Soon it was arranged for James from S & A Heating to fit a new boiler. He worked hard all day and finally explained how to use the boiler and thermostat, in a clear way that was easy for me to understand. He left everything clean and tidy. I am over the moon, and thrilled to bits! No more hot water bottles, nor carrying saucepans of hot water up to the bathroom for a wash. My house is now warm and getting aired. Thanks to James, who worked hard fitting the new boiler.

Great from start to finish. From the office staff to the service engineer, nothing was too much trouble. I was left with no heating following a breakdown in my system and they fit me promptly, ensuring I was not left vulnerable and without heating and water during this cold spell. The engineer took the time to explain all the controls to me and didn’t make me feel rushed or like I was a burden. They cleared up afterwards and left everything clean and tidy. I would highly recommend. 5 stars all round.

We have had an old boiler in our Annexe replaced by S&A Heating with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar unit They carried out a survey of the premises & the existing pipework to the old boiler We agreed a resonable price and the work was undertaken during the following few weeks The installation was first rate with very little mess We would recommend using them for other heating work

The installer came on time on the day stated. Explained what he was going to do and what he wasn't doing ! Started as soon as he’d checked the system and carried on until the job was completed. Once he’d finished and cleaned up, which included patching up the brickwork outside, he explained the working of the boiler and as we kept our original controls etc this was so simple. Having used the boiler app 2 weeks now we are so pleased with the results and would recommend S &A heating any time.

Communication and price quoted, excellent. Richard arrived on time and worked for more than 3 days installing my central heating system. Very clean and efficient and tidy worker, sometimes working without a break. When completed he showed me how to use it and made sure I was satisfied before he left, taking all his rubbish and cleaning all areas. He assured me if I needed advice, to just give the company a ring

My boiler that was 26yrs old, replaced as it was overheating & tripping out. I contacted S&A Heating on Thursday 18th March late in the day. Sean came over to give me an estimate the following day – very impressed with the quick service. A price was agreed and S&A were able to do the work the following Tuesday (23rd March). I was provided with two bottles of cleaner that day to put into the central heating ahead of the replacement (S&A were going to come and do this but I did it myself as it was more convenient for me to do it). The new boiler was delivered directly to me on the Tuesday morning around 0845hrs and Richard from S&A arrived about 10 minutes later – very impressed. Richard put dust sheet throughout the house and got straight on to the job. In no time at all the system was drained & flushed, old boiler removed from the loft and the new one installed. The necessary pipe alterations were done, gas pressures tested etc, condensate pipe installed, system filter fitted etc. S&A also registered my new boiler with the manufacturer and I now have a new boiler with a 10yr warranty. This is the second time I’ve used S&A – they previously installed a full gas central heating & hot water system at my mum’s from scratch – Richard was the engineer on that job and once again a fantastic job was done. I cannot recommend S&A Heating enough to anyone needing heating work done – they’re an awesome company, professional & competitively priced. I will definitely use them again in the future.

S&A Heating were tasked with a boiler replacement. The work was carried out on the agreed day. The assessor of S&A Heating had carried out a visit prior to installation to ascertain the work involved. He explained in detail what work would be required to fit the new boiler. The engineer arrived at the agreed time on fitting day and throughout the whole process kept us informed and made sure we were warm enough when there was a need for the doors to be open to drain the radiators due to the extremely cold weather that day. The task was completed by mid-afternoon with the engineer tidying up prior to leaving and all old parts removed. Prior to departure the engineer briefed me on the new boiler operation before going through all the appropriate paperwork and instruction booklets and aftercare information. It was a pleasure to have the engineer in our house, a friendly gentleman who made us feel at ease. Very impressed with the way he worked throughout. Thank you to S&A Heating for a job well done despite the current restrictions. Would have no hesitation recommend S&A Heating to friends.

From the moment I met Sean the surveyor from S&A heating I knew I was in safe hands. He was polite and very professional. He was very informative regarding my new boiler and answered all of my questions and followed all COVID regulations whilst inside my home. My boiler was fitted a lot quicker than I expected because of a cancellation and I was so grateful when Sean phoned to tell me it would be fitted before Christmas instead of the New Year. The engineer who fitted the new boiler arrived on time and worked continuously through the day to get my old boiler out and the new one in. Once the job was completed he explained all the functions to me thoroughly and also went through all the paperwork. He was very knowledgeable and professional and cleaned up everything before he left. Because of COVID he made sure he was very careful and followed all regulations whilst inside my house when testing my radiators. I would not have any hesitation in recommending S&A Heating to anyone that needed a new boiler.
