Our experience was anything but positive. We went in for a quote for some work and kept being told that “ we haven’t done it yet”. Four days later we go to pick the car up and the work has been done. We did not agree to the work being done and we did not agree on a firm price (we had asked for a rough estimate but the owner said that we would need to bring the car in for him to have a look at first ). Additionally, we had to put the bumper and arch liners back on ourselves and the car and ramp had been blocked in by his personal car which he would not move until we had paid. Had a good job been done, we would have left it at that but unfortunately, it was not. The underseal had been applied to everything on the underside of the car. Moving parts, plastic, suspension dampers, etc. there are areas which still have rust and it doesn’t look as though any preparation was carried out or any rust removed at all, just under sealed over. There is “underseal” on the bodywork, headlights, underside of the bonnet, rocker cover and bumpers, not to mention there is tiny black specks of underseal all over the exterior of our white car. The owner was rude and aggressive and although he said he would remove the spray-back, (he poured paint stripper on his own car to show how he would remove the underseal over-spray), we did not feel comfortable with returning to him that he would treat our car respectfully. Turns out the “underseal” was Raptor truck bed liner!

Took my mx5 to Simon at SGH & SONS BODYWORKS after I damage the wing mirror getting it out of my garage I’ve owned it from new nineteen years it’s red in colour so I thought getting it re painted would probably stand out with new paint but this was not the case the re-pair Simon carried out was first class. Also at what I considered to be a very fair price.Simon also comes a cross as a very genuine guy. If I ever need any work done in the future on my car I would definitely go back to Simon.

I can't thank Simon enough! After my wing mirror was knocked off, I was overcharged for a half-done replacement elsewhere. I went to Simon to ask if I’d been ripped off, and he was incredibly honest—he even looked into what the real cost should have been before I had given him any business. He took the time to break down the costs before starting any work and had my mirror fixed within 24 hours (and even fitted a new bulb free of charge)! Genuinely kind, honest, and more than fairly priced—especially helpful for a busy student like me. I couldn’t recommend him more. Thank you! 😊

I had to get a bumper replaced and a headlamp changed and it is perfect. The car looks better than when I bought it secondhand and the colour matching on the paint is exactly right.

Simon was a fantastic help to me when fixing exterior damage from a pesky run in with a bus. All work was completed to a high standard, with the car resprayed, cleaned and screen wash topped up. Simon even noticed a balding tyre and organised and completed the replacement of this, as well as filling the other tyres up for me. This saved me having to drive in dangerous conditions and find another garage. Overall Simon and his team were organised, friendly and did a brilliant job on my car. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I saw SGH advertising in the MX5 owners magazine and thought I'd give them ago to repair the two rear sills on my X reg NB. I have been very impressed with the level of service, from getting a quote, booking it in and getting the works completed. I found them to be trustworthy, very knowledgeable, friendly and very good at their job. I would highly recommend Simon and his team.

Due to a confrontation with a wild animal, I needed some work done to repair/replace my bumper on a 12 month old T Roc. Whilst Mazda specialists, we as a family have used this business now 3 times in the last 8 years for private work. Always friendly with a dry sense of humour, Simon gives honest feedback on works needed and cost. Initially was hoping for a repair, but damage turned out more extensive so needed a full bumper, grill replacement and respray to match the vehicle. Great quality of work, car looks like new and done within 2/3 days. Whilst not needed, offered lifts if required re car drop off and pick up. Don’t be put off by the business location, premises and access, work is of a very high standard. Highly recommended.

This is the second time using Simon and team. This time was to repair and paint a some rust bubbles on my 2005 MR2, including a tricky one on the windscreen pillar. This meant to do properly the screen needing to come out. Once out, a few other issues were found. Also a repair on the rear wing that had a rust bubble. Once off they found that it had been repaired poorly in the past and cut out the old rusty metal and patched it, not that you would know to look at as it looks like a factory finish. All bits were repaired to a really high standard. Simon and the team have lots of experience and that defiantly shows in the quality of the work, and I'd be happy to use him again in the future.
