Simon Barker Plumbing and Heating was the only company that deigned to reply to my many requests to local plumbers for advice and a quotation for work to enable me to finish our ensuite. They advised early on that they had a very busy schedule and it could be up to 8 weeks, possibly more, before they could carry out the work. I received very helpful advice about what needed to be done and how they proposed to do it and was also given an option to do rather more than I thought my limited budget could cope with. The quotation came through and the price for putting first fix pipe work and raising the floor to be level with the adjoining bedroom, to allow me then to get on finish tiling, was very reasonable. I was lucky that they had a cancellation and two tradesmen were able to come in and do the work last week. Harvey and Harry did a really good job which I am very pleased with. They were very careful to work very cleanly and were scrupulous in tidying up as they went along.

Confident,capable team. Did their work quick,but with quality of finish. Once finished cleaned up and cleared any rubbish. Very impressed with this company.

I have used this company in the last three years for my boiler service, and have always find they arrive at the time they say, the workmen are always polite and clean up after themselves and I find them very efficient polite and give me advice on any queries I have, I can highly recommend this company to everyone.

I have used Simon Barker Services Ltd 3 times. This time was to replace a very old oil boiler and cylinder to a combi boiler. As usual the Service was first class. I wish that there were more companies like this. The customer service is the best around, the whole team are professional polite knowledgeable friendly helpful and clean tidy workers. My oil boiler locked out so had no heating or water. It happened suddenly with no warning. Pressed the override button which started it again, but it locked out again after a couple of hours. Repeated the process several times, but had the same problem. I called Simon Barker Services Ltd in the morning and the phone was answered very quickly. I explained the problem, and was reassured that they would get back to me as quickly as possible to let me know when an engineer would be able to come. I received a text message within 15 minutes to inform me that Simon would be with me that afternoon. Simon checked the boiler thoroughly and explained everything to me. It was difficult to diagnose an intermittent fault, so Simon adopted a process of elimination fitting a part that was most likely the culprit. He did explain that two other parts may also be causing the problem. Sadly the boiler locked out again after 6 hours. I phoned the following morning and Simon returned a short while later that day with the other parts. The boiler is now working fine. I was very impressed by the excellent and polite customer service, prompt action and the respect to my home. The failed parts were left with me to be examined by an engineer. They certainly were broken! I have no problem in recommending this family run company to others.

This was the second time I had called Simon Barker Services to complete a plumbing-related task in my home. The first project was to adapt an en-suite and main bathroom to meet the needs of my wife, who had Alzheimer's. This last task was a simple leaking tap, which required a replacement tap. On both occasions, the service was exactly the same. They visited to assess the task and delivered exactly as planned, in terms of the time frame to complete the task. The professionalism of all who attended for both tasks was of an extremely high standard. On the last job, an extremely polite young man called Hayden arrived at my home and provided an excellent example of what good customer service should be. Even though I said he could leave his boots on as he was coming through the door, as the tap was in the kitchen. He still took them off, a simple but respectful gesture which I really appreciated. He was efficient, friendly, and thoroughly professional whilst completing the task. There was no need to clear up after him, as you do with some tradespeople! His positive attitude, politeness, and competence left a distinctly optimistic impression on me. Not something I often feel after some of the interactions I have had with other businesses. I would definitely recommend Simon Barker Services for any future jobs in my home and for my friends. You may be able to get a cheaper quote elsewhere, but would you be able to get the same quality of service that they deliver? Probably not.

I could not rate their service higher. They responded so quickly to our plumbing emergency. They were polite and we were always reassured with the competence and quality of their work from our first call to the office to the plumber finishing his work.

The engineer was a little delayed in getting to us for the annual boiler service. He phoned to let us know and arrived early for his new ETA. He was polite and just got on with the job without fuss, or disturbance to us. Job done, we were told all was well and the engineer departed with a cheerful smile. The invoice arrived promptly in the post as promised - I would have preferred an e-invoice. We've used SBPH before and will be using them again!

We have used this firm several times before, to do large and small jobs, and always have been 100%, Would highly recommend.

Points scored immediately on arrival when the plumber took off his shoes. That's always a winner with me. We had an ongoing problem with a cistern- to- toilet leak for months and various attempts had been made to solve it. The plumber knew straightaway what the problem was. In addition he removed a lot of old silicone from the back of the toilet and fixed the toilet seat. I cannot recommend highly enough. I had only telephoned about half an hour before and it wasn't an urgent job but I was lucky that day because Simon Barker's plumber happened to be working nearby. We certainly know who to ask next time we need a plumbing job done.
