SJT Roofing LTD

A tile had come off the roof of our house built in 1929. We get quite a few unsolicited flyers through our door for roofers and I wasn’t keen to risk it so I decided to search for a nearby Tiler using Trusted Traders. Having read some customer feedback on SJT Roofing Ltd, which was very reassuring, I couldn’t be happier with Steve who responded within 24 hours of my initial email, in which I attached a couple of photos of the problem. Steve turned up and did the job efficiently and promptly. I’d happily use Steve again if we have any more roofing issues.

I can't talk highly enough about Steve. He came recommenced from people who live close by. The job was to fix a hard to get at flat roof that had fallen through and to essentially make something work that hadn't worked properly since it had been constructed years back. It was a really tricky job as the roof was penned at three sides. Steve is great, no fuss and brilliant at his job. He's conscientious, honest and and does everything to a high standard. He also very nice to have around. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Steve.

Decided to get Steve to back to replace our flat roof since he had done such an effective job on the gully. All went to plan and as before Steve provided excellent service. I would highly recommend.

We asked Steve to investigate water ingress in an upper gable in our 1905 house. Steve identified the likely causes of the water ingress and dealt with them. He also pointed out that our rough cast required further attention and explained why. Last but not least he mortared in a couple of loose bricks in our front garden wall and repaired our wooden fence. Excellent service from beginning to end.

Steve was recommended to me by a good friend and she in turn had received a recommendation from her neighbours, (which is always a good sign, I think.) He was the only roofer that we asked for an estimate who grasped that there were several elements that needed to be addressed if we were going to effectively deal with what has been an ongoing problem. The gully, the enclosing wall and the window facia and the tiled area on either side of the windows. His diagnosis was correct and there was defective work and unsuitable materials used by a previous tradesman that needed to be remedied. I am confident that he has got to the bottom of that particular issue, and have asked him back to replace a flat roof that could also be contributing to the problem and certainly was ready to be replaced. Steve turned up when he said he would, for both the estimate and the work. He was extremely helpful, communicating clearly what the issues were and seemed to be very thorough. His charges were exactly as he estimated, although he needed to provide some extra materials as the soakers were missing from the tiled area and he hadn't budgeted for this. Of course we need some torrential rain to be sure that the problem has been completely resolved, but I am confident once we have replaced the flat roof we should be home and dry.

Steve is really communicative and kind. We met with 4 roofers and Steve was the only person who didn't try and scare us! Best moment was when I mixed up what work we had agreed to do - Steve could have messed with me but instead reminded me we had already included that in scope of works. While I can't inspect my roof personally, the pictures looked good and it's clear Steve takes huge pride in his work and he did more days than expected to finish the job fully. Would highly-recommend.

Steve responds very promptly to callouts and turns up at the appointed time. He has cleared and repaired guttering and done other roof repairs in the past. He is very experienced and is very good at working out what the problem is and his work is thorough, well explained and well documented. He is also very trustworthy and I have had roof work done by him while I was away and he was excellent at keeping me updated on progress

Stephen is brilliant and would recommend him to anyone. His work is high quality and he can always be trusted to do a great job. We have used him multiple times for help with our main roof and flat roof. He has a lot of experience and can quickly identify the problem and solve it. If you have any issues with roof leaks then look no further, Stephen is your guy!

We lost a few tiles that cracked and slipped. SJT lived up to the feedback from others on here and came around to provide a quote within a couple of days and scheduled the work within a couple of weeks. The work was done thoroughly and with explanations of what was required. Good communication throughout. Will definitely use SJT again if we need more roofing or guttering work. Thank you.
