A great business. The guys are so knowledgeable and I always have confidence that they'll fix my problem - they haven't let me down so far. Always turn up on time and very reasonably priced. In this day and age when even getting a tradesman is a nightmare, let alone one who will actually turn up on time and not charge you an arm and a leg, these guys are a breath of fresh air.

We have already recommended David and Mark to our friends and family. They really do deserve the constant 5 star reviews. Initially we asked for a survey/estimate for system upgrade as we moved into house with older radiators and pipework. We also had issues with water tanks and a minor fault on existing boiler. We asked for 2 estimates , an option for replacement radiators and pipework only and an option to include a new combi boiler. David spent time giving us advice on both options, as above before following up, same day, with 2 detailed written quotations. We opted for a full replacement system including boiler and they agreed an early start date with us. Day 1 they explained the plan for the duration and each day provided update and a plan for the following day. They kept us informed throughout and encouraged our input and questions at relevant points for example placement of radiators and options for laying pipework. They are both personable and chirpy characters and we never heard a shout or grumble during the works. They left a tidy house each day. When the job was finished Mark talked through all the paperwork and operations and set up hive schedules on my phone. Could not have asked for a better service .

Came quickly to quote for a new boiler, they were very slightly dearer than the other quote received but the other was for a smaller boiler! They were happy to answer follow-up questions by return by email, work was done quickly and efficiently by two nice chaps.

I don't normally leave reviews, mainly because I seldom come across trades people who deserve a decent one. Come to think of it I've only written stinking reviews about trades people because they deserved them. On the 3 occasions I have used Smart Heating, however, I have found both David and Mark to be professional, reliable, reasonably priced, providing solutions rather than finding problems. So much so that I have already recommended them to our daughter who had them service her boiler. TOP GUYS.

I have had a boiler service contract with Smart Heating for several years and have found them reliable and efficient. Last week my boiler broke down and they responded to my plight and gave me quotes for repairing or replacing the boiler in a timely way. Today Mark and David fitted a replacement boiler, very efficiently and I would confidently recommend this company.

Excellent work done by David and Mark. Combi boiler fitted in one day. They came around and gave me a very competitive quote and also gave me an installation date not too long after the quote. They also said their quote was a guaranteed price and if anything unexpected arose there wouldn't be an extra charge. Logistically it was impressive with their supplier dropping off the boiler and all of the new parts about 10 minutes before the guys arrived and started work. They were able to fit the specific model of the Worcester Bosch combi boiler which I requested. The installation went smoothly and they were able to make small modifications to the inside of the cabinet the combi sits in without it being noticeable. The new pipework they fitted for the new boiler is also very nicely done, nice to look at and symmetrical which shows they take pride in their work. Once installed they flushed, added inhibitors and balanced the system etc. While they were here, they were very polite and approachable happy to answer any questions I had and you can tell that these are educated guys. They cleaned up totally and took all the waste/old parts away leaving the kitchen looking exactly as it had before they started. They also fitted the new thermostat in the same place as the old one with absolutely no noticeable marks on the wall, leaving it pristine. Once the job was finished they had plenty of time to talk through the new boiler and the app etc. I highly recommend these guys.

Mark’s survey of the old boiler problem and explanation of the options for a replacement were clearly explained and the subsequent quote confirmed that. We accepted their quote, not the cheapest but not the highest either because we trusted them Both David and Mark worked steadily, were tidy and open to explaining what they were doing and finally, Mark gave time to explain how the system worked which was very helpful. Very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Smart Heating.

David replaced our combi boiler with a new Worcester Bosch 8000+. It was very straight forward to set up a quick meeting with David to survey the work, where he answered all our questions and he provided a written quote without delay. Once we accepted the quote David was very flexible in arranging a time to do the work, which was very helpful. He carried out the work as planned with minimal disruption and explained all that we needed to know throughout. David was efficient, friendly and informative, especially around plans to upgrade radiators in the future. The whole experience felt stress free.

Excellent service. Quick to respond to my enquiry and emailed an estimate within hours of his visit. They showed me and explained when any minor changes were required. They removed all my old heating system and any rubbish. The job was completed ahead of schedule. Neat tidy work that showed they obviously take pride in a job well done. We had been trying without success to find someone to install a new heating/hot water system for us after the electric boiler failed, only three years old. Smart Heating came along and instantly gave us faith that they could succeed where others had failed and they did. They are incredibly professional, tidy and efficient workers. They put in a vast amount of planning. They kept us informed and accommodated our big changes to the initial plan. We have an old house which poses a great deal of problems which David and Mark overcame with knowledgable ease. They are most amenable and easy to communicate with. I have no hesitation in recommending them. They know their stuff!

David and Mark responded very promptly to a request for help when our boiler stopped working, and got it going again. We discussed that the time had come for a replacement of the now very old and inefficient boiler, and agreed to go ahead with this, and associated works. Throughout the job they arrived when expected, worked hard and communicated very well, both in person and by phone or text messages. The job was quite a big one and we now have a new boiler and a Tado controller for heating and hot water, and 18 Tado thermostatic radiator valves, all of this installed carefully and neatly, and with explanations of what why and how it was to be done. The system is working brilliantly, and we are loving the control and flexibility it has brought to a fairly large house. We would thoroughly recommend them and will do so to anyone who asks.

We had our old boiler replaced and a full system conversion and I would not hesitate to recommend David and Mark. I just had David & Mark change out a central heating boiler. As the replacement boiler was a combi there were a certain amount changes required to the piping system under our carpet / floor boards and hardboard sheets which had to be removed and replaced. By the time they left everything was perfectly relaid and the piping to the boiler was exceptional with regard to neatness and the art of pipe installation. They turned up on time, completed the work scope within their time estimation, explained the system, helped set up the hive on my phone and completed all paper work with regard to gas and boiler certification within 2 hours of leaving the site. They are both great guys to get on with and know what they are talking about with regard to systems and problem solving. I highly recommend them if you are thinking of getting work done - wish I had found them earlier.

Clear advice and explanation of options. outline of work, price and estimate of work duration given in a quote. Very pleasant & friendly workmen. Very tidy & careful with our furniture etc. The new boiler and all the pipework etc installed without any problems. Old boiler removed. When our 30 year old gas boiler finally failed we looked through local Which Trusted Traders to find someone to fit a replacement (our old house would not be suitable for a heat pump without inordinate cost). We asked three traders to quote and all were competitive. However we found David of Smart Heating, Edinburgh, to be particularly pragmatic, technically aware and sensitive to our needs (including the peculiarities of a slightly quirky house). David and Mark have just completed the replacement and were extremely conscientious, neat and tidy and very capable. Their quote was a fixed price and done within the planned time. When our ageing boiler failed for the second time this winter, with a baby and a toddler in the house, David fitted us in the next working day for an estimate for a replacement. We appreciated the way he spoke with us, being sympathetic but also clearly setting our expectations about what timescales might be possible. David couldn’t have been more helpful and informative when he arrived after my boiler packed in over the coldest weekend this year. He was highly recommended by a friend. We had major problems with our central heating boiler some time after fitting a “Hive” control system. Our regular, excellent, plumber was totally defeated despite his best efforts. Smart heating were excellent they came, got their head round the problem and fixed it. They were a pleasure to have in the house too. The superb “Hive” control is back working again. As a “Which” member I can totally recommend them.

We were having problems with our boiler and some of the radiator pipework. We spoke to two companies but gained little clarity. However Smart Heating Edinburgh were different and from the initial telephone call with David some ideas were put forward and a home visit arranged. Various options explored and merits of each discussed and it was agreed to replace the boiler and some of the pipework. A detailed fixed price quote was given and accepted. The agreed work was undertaken over two days by David and Mark at the previously agreed price. As work was carried out we were kept informed of progress. Throughout this whole process it was possible to ask questions and advice and explanations were readily given. There was minimal disruption and work was carried out in a safe, tidy manner clearing up as work progressed. When finished the new boiler controls were explained and gas safety certificate issued.
