The Solardoctor is a family run electrical business. Established in 1983, we have been operating for 3 decades with 15 years in the renewable energy industry and have installed 1000’s of commercial and domestic PV Solar and PV thermal systems in England and Europe.

Not only do we design/install new photovoltaic installation we also offer cost effective repair for your PV system but we are able to maintain commercial and domestic PV systems with our unique solar monitoring software. The solardoctor PV monitoring equipment allows us to track system performance via daily irradiance levels, which alerts us, and your-self if solar panel servicing is required.

You can choose from a one off visit for PV panel repair or you can choose from our annual solar PV servicing package with a fixed annual cost. This will allow you to keep solar PV repairs to a minimum. With the solar doctor monitoring your system daily, you can rest assured the system will be fully operational and operating at 100% efficiency.

In summary. John fitted pigeon protection and informed me that I needed a new inverter. He fitted a new solis 3.6kw. A year later an electrician from podpoint said it was arcing out and sparking when he was working nearby so he turned it off and I contacted John ( solar doctor) who did the installation. He said he had some problems with Sollis connectors and he would come and see it that week but never showed. Then he avoided my calls and emails. Finally I caught him by calling from my work number and he told me he had ordered a new inverter to replace my one although he hadn’t even been out to inspect it. Since then he has avoided my calls and emails and when I emailed him and told him I would write a bad review he invited me to do so. It has been four months that I have been trying to contact him.

Thank you for the constructive comments! Inverter warranties are a constant issue and I'm pleased you've taken the time to highlight the issue. We have the serial number of the inverter archived on file (no need for a visit) which was been passed to Solis Europe and a case number established in October 2022, listing the fault. The unit does come with a 5 year manufacturing warranty. Stock is coming via Solis in China and inverter warranties are unfortunately very slow as they are not UK based company. We have repeatedly stated we will be in contact to undertake the repair when we have the new unit in stock. A new unit will shortly be shipped to you directly from week commencing 30/01/23.

Solardoctor installed 16 solar panels, Inverter, battery storage and a hot water heating switch. From the original quote to after finishing the work, communication and support have been top-notch, especially providing all the relevant documents to switch to an export tariff. Throughout the installation everything was kept clean and tidy and, at the end, all waste was removed. The installation is very neat and does not stand out from the house. They even dealt with the shortage of battery storage units, quickly sourcing it from another supplier.

After calling around a few other solar panel companies (who wanted to charge a £180 + VAT call out fee regardless of the work required) I spoke to John who offered to come round and make a quick assessment for free. I found him to be very professional and pleasant and so asked him to come back later in the week to work on the solar panels. His service was excellent and the price seemed reasonable in comparison to other companies.

Solardoctor installed our 16 solar panels in 2011 and has supported us ever since. We had problems with the inverters which he swapped out just for labour as they were under warranty; and then in 2017 the local grid was sending 240 amp spikes at our house which turned out to be a major fault in the local substation which eventually failed catastrophically. Solardoctor ensured we were on-line in no time. I have no hesitation in recommending Solardoctor to anyone.

I am a builder that needed solar panels fitted at home. I knew no solar engineers so had to cold call and got 3 companies to quote. Of The 3 companies, 2 were sales people , John was the other person. I am always insistent that i meet the tradesperson doing the actual work and i was very comfortable with Johns knowledge and demeanour. He got the job and i was so happy with the work i have recommended him to several of my clients all of which have been just as delighted.

I was having a replacement roof fitted and was looking for some small solar charger for a single socket. Solardoctor were recommended by a local builder. From the start I was impressed by the professionalism they showed. I explained what I wanted now based on my budget and also what I'd like in the future. John worked a number of options for me based on budget and results of the survey showing what could be possible. I ended up getting a 4KW system which during summer runs almost at full capacity. Next summer I will add hot water and maybe in the future battery storage. Solardoctor were able to give me the advice I needed to make the right decision at the time and plan for the future. I never felt under any pressure, John at Solar provides a very honest and open assessment. Installation was super quick, took half a day for the panels and inverter and I'm very happy with the quality and the results.
