Just had a 3m x 3m rear extension costing over £23,000, the sales person agreed verbally to fit brushed chrome fittings and floor would be left smooth for any type of flooring. They fitted wrong electrics and refused to level and smooth concrete flooring which would have cost £70-100. They agreed to replace electrics as goodwill even though the sales person got it wrong. Suggest you record all conversations and agreements made by the sales people, who to be fair, say and promise a lot to get the order. On the plus side the work was completed by excellent trades people, brickies, plasterers electricians all brilliant but will not comment on what their opinion on Solarframe Direct Limited was and the way we treated A decent company but just be careful what they say.

Replacement window’s to conservatory

We have had our conservatory windows along with kitchen and bathroom windows replaced to modernise our 1960’s bungalow. After delaying our installation due to overrunning on our part after having a loft conversion installed Solar frame we’re helpful in delaying the installation a month to accommodate our fitting and kept us informed. Slight problem after installation but once the reason was understood we accepted the explanation.

We’ve had windows from Solarframe before. That experience gave us confidence of a good product for replacing other windows. Great communication and the sales, surveyor, customer contact and fitting teams were all excellent, especially the fitting teams.

New orangery roof

Since having our Orangery roof built by another company we had problems with a leak which after many visits the company failed to successfully resolve, when it became dangerous due to water affecting the electrics we called solar frame and asked for about a new roof. They came and looked at it and saw it was dangerous and needed urgent replacement. The next week they sent an electrician and isolated the power, then because of the coming winter we’re quick to begin the work and we’re professional through out the old roof was removed and the area cleared and within a week the new roof was on the the plasters and electric did they’re bit and finally a inspection and cleaning to make sure we we happy with the work , they were professional worked through awful weather and cleaned up after each visit we would like to thank them for their work, it wasn’t cheap but it was a well worth it. We willingly recommend solar frame to anyone.

3rd time using Solarframe. No issues on the previous 2 occasions but weren't so lucky this time. A combination of poor communication between departments, unwillingness to take responsibility, blame being assigned to someone else, staff holidays (no issue with staff taking holidays as long as the job is passed onto someone else) and incompetence (installation team turned up on 3 occasions with the same frame & glass incorrectly measured, they finally got it right on the 4th attempt) resulted in a job which should have taken 6 weeks took 20 weeks to complete! As a form of recompense we were offered a £100 M&S voucher, we are still waiting to receive it. We won't be using Solarframe again!

83 days to install a patio door

The installation of the sliding patio door should have taken 2 days, but it took 83 days. On two occasions, Solar Frame got the measurements of the unit wrong. We endured 7 weeks of having unplastered walls and draughts, then another 5 weeks before the job was fully completed. The treadboard is warped, but I have not let them take it up to replace because of the risk of consequential damage. I have sent an e mail and two letters to Solar Frame (one to the Operations Director) asking for compensation, but have received no replies to any of them.

We were having most of the windows in our house changed so it was really important we went with the right company. After having several quotes we decided to go ahead with Solar Frame and we were not disappointed with our choice. The salesperson visited the house (on an evening) and took the time to go through everything with us, gave the best advice and reassured us of the quality of the products. When it came to fitting John and Steve both did an excellent job. They talked me through the fitting of each window to make sure I was happy and every window was fitted to a high standard during the three days they were here. I would definitely recommend Solar Frame!

Fiona was very professional kept me informed when fitters would arrive and how long they would take. She Emailed and telephoned on a regular basis. Scott and Dale fitted the roof. They were punctual and their work was quality. they were friendly and polite and also left the area clean and tidy. The electrician and plasterers work was quality.

we would like to thank first of all Steve,who came and told us all about solarframe and showed us the quality of the windows that they make .we were very impressed by them . in the next couple of weeks we got a call from Fiona our co-ordinator with a date to install them the lads Andy and Karl came and started on the wednesday got 5 of the windows in that day cleaned up after themselves nice !! didnt expect that. in the next 2 days would they had finished the job ,they never stopped ( well they did for a cuppa ) lol they liked their tea but didnt string it out .we would recomend this firm to anyone

Replacement frames and roof

Contracted Solarframe to replace the frames and install a new solid roof on my existing conservatory. Very happy with the finished article but very disappointed with the organizing of the work. Where it should have been maybe five days work the job in total took five weeks. I had a number of last minute cancelled arrangements for work by the coordinator as the workmen had been sent on different jobs and were unable to attend. With two days without windows and three week wait for the correct doors the organization was not what I would have expected.
