I have been impressed and very happy with the prompt service received from Paul and his team at Solitaire. I urgently needed my Gas Safety Certificate for a rental property and they quickly scheduled a visit, fitting it around my tenant's needs. Carried out the checks and also recommended future maintenance when required. I would not hesitate to recommend them if you are a landlord looking to get any plumbing work done.

Gas boiler service OK but there was an excessive mark-up

Worcester-Bosch gas combi-boiler annual service. The friendly technician arrived on time and appeared to work efficiently and tidily. Labour is charged by the hour even though the job took less than one hour. There was an excessive mark-up on the Fernox inhibitor which was invoiced at 3.29 times the retail price at £36 for 265ml; I paid £20, which was accepted reluctantly.

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm pleased to hear you were happy with the service and the friendlesness of our staff. All of our prices are on our website https://solitairegrp.com/solitaire-plumbing-heating-pricelist/ and we do try to be as transparent as possible. You complained about our price for the inhibitor we added, we do add a charge on to some products as we have to guarantee our parts for a year, we also have huge overheads that need to be thought about. However, we do understand your complaints. We offered to reduce the price which wasn't good enough, we then offered to refund the whole price of the inhibitor and for you to purchase a bottle and give to us at your convenience to replenish our stock. Unfortunately, this was also not a good option for you. You then paid us what you felt was right, again to try to offer the best service possible we accepted and amended our invoice to reflect this. I do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but I hope anyone reading this can see that we tried our best with this customer. We wish you all the best for the future.

Can’t thank these guys enough!!! Jack, Sam and Lewis!! After 3 visits from another Company, recommended by my insurance, I posted on Facebook plumber needed!! Solitaire came up! Within 15 minutes of my phone call for help, they were at my home! Can’t thank these guys enough!! Friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel that my issue was their priority!! Have told my insurance company that their recommended plumbers were so lacking in every aspect!!! Thanks to those on Facebook who recommended Solitaire and thanks again to the solitaire team who not only identified the cause of my leak, but fixed and gave me the confidence going forward that all would be good!! So grateful! Thank you x

Very disappointed with their work, had a service on our oil boiler and was in my opinion not a thorough job. Also had a leak from the boiler which they ‘assured us was fixed’ but not fixed at all and is still very much leaking. Charge £350 for spare parts and the service, boiler wasn’t even turned back on after replacement parts fitted so not sure how we can be assured the leak was fixed. Also told it wasn’t their faulty if the leak they ‘fixed’ has now pushed through to a different place and would be classed as a new leak - which is rubbish, it’s still leaking from the same place & if we wanted them to come and look at this ‘new leak’ that would be an additional charge. Not using this company again.

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us and I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with our services. As explained in our email, you have not had the boiler serviced for several years previous to contacting ourselves and the boiler was in a state of disrepair and has extensive faults. We have tried to repair your boiler the most cost effective way for you by replacing the minimum amount of parts but unfortunately has another leak. We have offered to return free of charge to inspect the boiler and that offer still stands. We always try to repair rather than replace to save our customers money and we pride ourselves on our great customer services. Unfortunately, I don't know what else we could do to offer a better service other than work for free of charge for you or supply parts for your boiler that has not been looked after for several years before we attended, free of charge. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience we may have caused, and as explained above, we are more than happy to re-attend, free of charge to inspect your boiler and as explained in our emails, I am happy to attend myself along with one of our managers to try and get this sorted for you. If we don't hear from you, we wish you the best of luck for the future and am sorry we didn't meet your expectations on this occasion.

The piping from the boiler to the central heating had become partially blocked. This was replaced and at the same time they discovered that the vent system was improperly installed by a previous owner. They rectified the problem.

This the second time I have used Solitaire to do the annual boiler service and all company employees were helpful and professional, from taking my booking to doing the work. The boiler is working better than ever. It was also very helpful to have an email stating roughly when the technician would arrive.

We called and within a few days the team were with us. The job was investigated and they went out of there way to find what the problem was. They will have to return as the. Issue require more work this has been arranged and they will be back this week to complete the job. Excellent service
