Spirit Energy arrive to fit a Powerwall 2 with non back up gateway in Aug 2019. My first impression on meeting the engineers was how professional they were. They explain the install, ask where I would prefer it fitted, advising on the best location. The chaps took most of the day doing a very neat installation and then downloaded the Tesla App and explained its use. I've been so impressed by the Powerwall and the savings I’ve made that in Aug 2023 Spirit energy installed a second Powerwall 2, this time I had the full backup gateway fitted with it. I now have a heatpump and my word, having the two Powerwall has made a huge difference to my energy bills. Would I recommend Spirit Energy? Absolutely. They may not be the cheapest but as I’ve learnt in the past, buy cheap buy twice. As for the Powerwalls I can’t fault them, they just run in the background charging on cheap rate power and discharging during the day. What’s really clever, if you have solar, the Powerwall will charge fully at night when there’s little solar during the day. In the summer, when lots of solar is available, they partially charge at night to leave space for solar.

It's brilliant to hear that our team made a strong first impression back in 2019, and that the quality of the installation held up well enough for you to come back to us in 2023. Two Powerwall 2s, a heat pump, and a backup gateway is a serious setup, and it sounds like it's doing exactly what it should. Your point about the intelligent charging behaviour in summer versus winter is spot on, and it's great to see a customer getting the full benefit of that. "Buy cheap, buy twice" sums it up better than we ever could. We'll be sharing that one with the team.

Spirit Energy did an excellent job of our solar panels & battery installation, from initial contact, through quote, site visits, and the onsite implementation. At every stage they provided a professional service with good communication and assistance with any queries or problems that arose throughout the process. They are not the cheapest, and stated this from the first contact. However I consider that it was well worth paying more for the peace of mind and high quality of the work. They also provide an insurance policy (HIP – Home Insurance Policy) against loss of deposit and the risk of their no longer trading, so that their warranties are guaranteed (up to 10 years). This is why they cost more. The GivEnergy system has worked reliably, and in conjunction my Hypervolt Home 3 EV charger and Octopus Intelligent Go tariff, has resulted in a huge reduction in my energy bills and motoring costs. I have found ways of using the system to move 93% of my electrical consumption into the very low cost 6 hour overnight rate from 11:30 to 05:30. During the summer months, with good solar output, I affectively have free electricity and motoring. My latest monthly bill (April 2026) estimates my annual costs as £496.77 for electricity and £319.09 for gas (I still have a gas cooker & gas central heating, although this is used far less now that I have installed an overnight storage heater, an infrared heater in an outhouse and an air to air heat pump system for air conditioning and heating).

Spirit Energy installed 16 solar panels, associated equipment and Tesla battery at our home. The service was excellent and the team did a great job. The perfomance of the panels has been very much in line with projections and we now import very little power from the grid. We would certainly recommend Spirit Energy to anyone contemplating the installation of solar panels.

I contacted Spirit Energy with fairly fixed ideas on what I wanted. I got a quote for exactly that with very good data on expected performance and how the roof would look with the panels fitted. The salesmen then suggested a much better optimised system and explained the advantages of this and it's better return on investment. I decided to accept his better proposal. During the survey, I was guided through the installation and we mutually agreed on the position of the components and the cable runs. The engineer doing the survey was very experienced and helpful throughout. A few days after the survey, I was contacted by a lady who introduced herself as my project manager and she kept me well informed about progress and timings. Finally, the installation crew were very efficient in their work and during the commissioning set up my control of the system using the supplier app on my phone. All of the people involved are directly employed by this family-owned company and the only subcontractors used are the scaffolders. Everyone was efficient and helpful throughout the whole process. Now, over two years later, my system generates about 10% better than forecast and exceeds our consumption twice over. Overall, I think I could not have chosen a better company to work with and highly recommend them.

Spirit Energy installed our solar panels 4 years ago. Before installation I had lots of discussion with them about the technical details and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Before and during installation they kept me informed about what would happen and when and they stuck to the schedule. The work was carried out with minimal disruption to us and the installers were friendly and respectful. The solar panels have and still are performing very well and are reducing my electricity bills considerably. As we have a heat pump, this is a major consideration. The heat pump works well with solar, particularly as the heat pump is managed with a Homely smart hub and can come on when there is good solar generation. So bill reductions come through optimising the use of solar electricity generated as well as payments for excess solar exported.

No problems with my installation - everything continues to run smoothly. 24Mw/ hr generated so far. Average combined elec / gas bill each year is now approx £400 ( including standing charges) - 3 bed detached house - 1 occupant. I do have air to air heatpumps & use the battery to spread the load over the day/night to utilise cheapest electricity rates ( especially in winter!)

This is a relatively low-cost item that did not justify scaffolding to replace. After several discussions and a site survey, three technicians were able to access the affected panel and optimiser from the adjacent loft window. They did this safely and quickly. Very good service from Spirit Energy.

We started our renewable energy journey with Spirit Energy in early 2021 when we engaged them to plan a solar and battery system for us. We were impressed with the thoroughness of the assessment of our needs and the resulting options offered. We started with a combined solar PV and battery system; the solar was installed in June 2021 and the battery in February 2022 (due to availability issues with the battery system). We were so pleased with the performance of the system that after more calculations and discussions with Spirit, we added a second battery which was installed in February 2023. The system has been running since then with no significant issues and reduces our electricity cost by around 80% every year. As of the date of this review our total savings have been over £7,500 (we are a high usage household). We have been very pleased with Spirit Energy from initial consultation through to installation and subsequent support and we'd certainly recommend them to anyone considering a solar and/or battery system.

In 2020 I approached Spirit Energy about solar panels and a battery - from the very start the service has been excellent - never too busy to answer, some very stupid, questions. The team explained everything clearly and all elements of the project were communicated clearly. I went ahead with Panels and a single Tesla battery - installed neatly, on time with no fuss and the team made an excellent job of tidying up . Since the original installation, they continue to respond to my questions and I have subsequently had a second battery and EV charge point installed by Spirit Energy. Whilst there have been a few issues they have always worked through these with me and sent engineers back to change the sensor to ensure that the energy all goes to the desired locations. I am really pleased with my installation and the service I have received and would recommend (and have) Spirit Energy to anyone considering Solar power or related works. I am now in the envious position of having my energy provider paying me each year . .

I chose Spirit Energy for a solar installation at my son’s house in February, marking my third solar project after working with both national and local companies. Their service so impressed me that I immediately hired them again for a rental property. What sets Spirit Energy apart is their passion, attention to detail, and ability to exceed customer expectations. Archie, my main contact, maximised the roof space by using Jumbo Panels, ensuring greater solar coverage and a better return on investment. Rachel expertly managed the project, communicating clearly with tenants, agents, and myself to minimise any disruption. Spirit Energy installed my solar power and Tesla Powerwall system in 2023 leaving a cable tail ready for an EV charger that might be required at some later date. I was impressed then by the exceptional standards of planning and communication together with the quality and professionalism of every aspect of the workmanship on site. Give this earlier experience I had no hesitation in asking Spirit to instal the Hypervolt charger now needed for a newly acquired EV. It is notable that even this relatively simple, straightforward task attracted the same high standards and attention to detail as the original main installation. To my mind Spirit Energy is a standout company, to be highly recommended.

Smooth expansion of existing system

After my Powerwall 2 failed due to a known issue, the Spirit team was supportive in arranging a warranty replacement as quickly as possible. The replacement (a PW3, which has an integrated inverter) opened the door to expanding our PV system so naturally it was a good opportunity to investigate possible options. The Spirit team were attentive and helpful in determining the best balance of cost vs return and quickly came up with a suitable design. I expected a reasonable wait for installation and was pleasantly surprised when they found a slot not long after agreeing the project - even then, the installation was performed much more quickly than anticipated, despite the terrible weather. Just like my experience with Spirit four years ago, the team did a great job, leaving a tidy site. They were great to chat with, answering any questions along the way and ensuring we fully understood the updates and changes made to our existing system. Its great to work with them, they uphold the same standards that won my business the first time around - highly recommended.

We were very impressed with the installation of our solar panels & batteries by Spirit Energy. From start to finish communication has been excellent. The scaffolding was put up just before the installation started and taken down again as soon as the roof work was completed. All the personnel from both the scaffolding firm and from Spirit Energy themselves were polite and friendly and the work was carried out with care. All packaging was removed at the end of each day and the site was left tidy. All in all one of the best experiences we have had with regard to work being carried out here.

Spirit Energy were friendly, efficient and easy to deal with. The installation, which wasn't the simplest, was very neatly achieved. The only problem, not ultimately Spirit Energy's fault, was that the Tesla PowerWall 3 failed to take any charge and had to be replaced. This was efficiently handled by Spirit Energy and I was up and running 3 weeks later.

Excellent experience from first contact to final system handover

We couldn't be more delighted with the solar system Spirit Energy have installed at our house and how the installation has gone. From very first contact with Spirit's sales team, through to the system finally being handed over, the company has been a pleasure to work with. Within days of making first contact with the company, Archie, from Spirit's Technical Sales team came to our house to carry out an initial survey and suggest what kind of system would work best for us. The sales process was highly professional and included a detailed quote, including estimated cost savings we could expect to make and how long the system would take to pay for itself. The initial visit by Archie was followed up by a more detailed technical survey by Justin, Spirit's Head of Installations. Throughout the sales process, we always felt entirely confident that Spirit were experts in their field and were making the best possible recommendations. We ended up agreeing to buy a 40 panel system with two Tesla Powerwall 3s and a myenergi Zappi EV charger. The entire installation was overseen by Peace, Spirit's Project Manager. Without exception, everyone in the team who carried out the installation did a great job in quite difficult weather conditions and were a pleasure to have at our house. Now the system is live, it's very satisfying to see that even though we’re in the depths of autumn, the system is already producing and offsetting enough energy to make us almost fully independent of the grid.

We had solar panels for several years before we added the Tesla PowerWall 2 battery fitted by Spirit Energy. What a difference that has made to our bills. We chose Spirit after interviewing several suppliers, because their thoroughness and depth of expertise really impressed us. The installation involved wiring through an outside wall into a very cramped understairs cupboard, which they managed perfectly. I'm writing this review five years later because we're in the process of selling our house and have been asked for copies of guarantees and electrical installation safety certificates. A quick chat with a friendly and helpful person at Spirit, and they were in my Inbox in minutes. What a reilef. Brilliant service!

I was drawn to Spirit Energy for our downsizing project in Cardiff by their excellent YouTube series on renewable energy. From our initial contact with Tok Charles, the whole project proceeded smoothly at the pace dictated by our builders (it took over 10 months); Spirit never pushed us for sales completion in any way. Our project manager, Natasha and both sets of installers (30 PV panels and later a Tesla Powerwall 3) were highly professional, helpful, and friendly. Spirit Energy is a joy to deal with, fair value for a top-flight service, and I recommend them to anyone seeking to install or upgrade their renewable energy system.

Excellent, very happy with the installation of Aiko panels with associated Enphase microinverters and a Tesla Powerwall 3. From the initial review and discussions with Nathan through to the survey by Justin and the installation by Ben, Jozef, Klem and Dan, managed by Peace, the work undertaken was of the expected high standard. Late customer changes were competently managed by Peace without affecting overall schedule. Some issues identified during commissioning were equally competently managed and resolved in a timely manner by Peace and Ryan. Another mention must go to the scaffolders. Blue Scaffolding, based in Reading, were efficient and courteous during the installation, paying attention to the restrictions defined during the survey. The subsequent removal of the scaffolding was completed on schedule. Such a difference to some other scaffolding companies we have experienced. Overall, we highly recommend Spirit Solar in terms of competitive pricing, attention to detail and work of a high quality.

Spirits website is jam packed full of detailed information, very useful as this was my first foray into Solar/Battery. After several phone calls to Tok it was time to get serious, he visited my home and produced a few proposals. At no time did i feel in the least bit pressurised, however I needed to be sure how the system was to be installed so an on-site survey was carried out by Justin for us both to agree the cabling to the Gateway & Battery. Competitors were only offering desktop surveys with actual locations of equipment and cable to be agreed on installation day which I did not feel happy about. The roofing team had the 18 panels installed on my roof in half a day and the electrics installed a couple of days later with the system commissioned on the same day. The guys were all very courteous and friendly with the standard of workmanship, as i had hoped - first rate. After commissioning a cosmetic issue became apparent with a few of the panels, Vishal worked with the manufacturer to resolve my concern and organised replacement of the panels in question before the scaffolding came down. I’m now really pleased with my system, half way into the month of March and am now generating more than 95% of my power needs from my Solar PV system despite my roof facing NE. I wanted to get this right first time so like me do your homework. For that you are going to need a company with a proven track record. Spirit Energy went above and beyond in helping me future proof my home.

Solar PV Panels + Home Battery Installation by Spirit Energy
Just had a PV and Home Battery installation made at my mother’s property in Hartley Wintney using Spirit Energy. Extremely impressed with the handling of this mini project from start to finish. First called Spirit Energy after watching a few of their YouTube videos online then realised they are located fairly locally. Mark popped round to evaluate the property and was very professional and knowledgeable in his field, which in turn gave us the confidence to go ahead with the project with Spirit. The comms were great throughout the install from the setup of the scaffolding, installation of PV panels and finally install + commissioning of the home battery. Install was finished last week and we are already seeing the cost saving benefits! Would recommend Spirit Energy to anyone looking to get a PV and/or Home Battery installed. Thanks again all.
