I was returning from a shopping trip 15 miles away. I noticed a reduction in acceleration in my car. It was getting slower and slower. I was afraid that I'd break down among traffic . So I pulled into a Lidl carpark and rand Start Rescue. It was a Saturday lunchtime. I've never used Start Rescue before although I've been a member for several years. The lady who answered the phone immediately was very pleasant and polite. After a few checks she reassured me that she'd contact someone immediately. She asked if I had any special needs which was hugely reassuring. I only mentioned that I was 82 years old but I was fine. She gave me an arrival time of assistance within one hour. Help arrived within 30 minutes. At one hour I received a text to ask if assistance had arrived. A pleasant young man arrived, and he even showed me and explained the problem which was a failed spark plug . He asked which garage I wanted to use. After a phone call to check they were open as it was a Saturday, he took me and towed my car there. I cannot speak highly enough of Start Rescue's service...Everything was carried out professionally, pleasantly and reassuringly. In addition, the annual subscription is affordable compared to some breakdown services.

My car battery was completely dead and I could not start the car, or even open the doors. I called start rescue, they answered quickly and I had a mechanic on my doorstep within 35 mins. He spent an hour with me, got the car started and gave me some very good advice. Excellent company.

I work 65 miles from where I live and have to leave the house at 2.30am everyday. On this particular morning I went to start the car as usual and it was completely dead. Tried various ways to get the car started but nothing. Decided I'd need recovery. Went to my inbox found my policy. It said to log my breakdown in the app. I hadn't downloaded the app, anyway even with having to download the app etc the process of logging the breakdown was so simple. Took a minute or two. Got a notification to say they would attend within an hour. It was actually around 20mins. The gent told me the issue and got the car started within 10 mins. All in all I was around 50 mins late to work. Which is incredible I think considering I had to call for breakdown assistance. I can not say enough good thing about start or the process and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone, in fact I have been doing that since. My partner has signed up and my daughter has too.

Car packed and ready to leave weekend at the seaside. When I tried to start the engine it wouldn't and made a nasty noise, I rang Start Rescue who responded immediately. Took details and told me I'd get more information very soon. Within 15 minutes the engineer rang, took details and said he would attend. Within the hour engineer had visited, checked the vehicle, confirmed a new battery would be needed, started and ran the engine. Assured me it would get me home. Excellent, prompt service. The car took me home (approximately 65 miles and I had a new battery fitted the following day.

I had a puncture whilst out on a ride and was picked up in a van which transported both myself and the bike to my home address. The service I received from initial contact to eventual drop off was excellent

Car broke down about 0.5 miles from home approx 09-30 on Sat 22/03/2025. I phoned StartRescue and they said they would send a breakdown truck but it would take them up to 1 hour to reach me and asked me if it was in a safe position to which I replied yes and person on phone told me to stay with car till truck arrived. She said she would keep me updated with arrival time of truck which she did and truck arrived at approx10-15. The breakdown guy asked what was wrong which I told him and he put a diagnostic test on car which said it pointed to a problem with diesel fuel injectors. Then he asked if I wanted car taken to a garage or taken to my home. I knew the garage which I use was closed on Saturday so I said home which was fine with me. I then received a phone call from StartRescue and I updated her and thanked her prompt action. Everything was over within approx 3 hours, it was so so easy with StartRescue nothing was a problem to them. Excellent Service throughout. I have even persuaded my friend to join up with StartRescue.

My wife was driving when the suspension spring snapped and as she thought it was something wrong decided to drive towards home which wasn't the best idea as the spring was rubbing on the tyre which blew out. She phoned me as I was in work and gave me all the details and I logged in to the start app to report the breakdown which I so easy to use and within a couple of minutes it confirmed the company coming out to rescue the car. I then received a phone call from Start which was just to check I had been satisfied with the app and to assure me that the truck was on its way. The truck turned up within 35 minutes and recovered the car to the house. The next day booked the car into the garage and used the app again to have it recovered to the garage for repair again all went well and had a courtesy call from Start rescue to make sure I was happy. This is my 3rd year with Start rescue and I cannot fault there service whenever I have needed them.

Car failed to start at home. I called Start Rescue who asked of I wanted a roadside technician or recovery. I asked for technician. A technician from Weston Recovery Services arrived within 30 minutes. He concluded that there was no spark after removing the coil pack and checking the spark plugs but could not identify the exact cause. After refitting the coil pack the engine started. I called my service agent to advise whether to have the car recovered or wait to see if the problem was fixed. They advised the latter. The next morning the car refused to start again. I again called Start Rescue. Again a technician from Weston arrived within 30 minutes. He went through the same procedure but after refitting the coil pack the engine would still not start. He then recovered the car to my service agent who diagnosed a faulty coil pack and replaced it. Car has been OK since. All in all I think Start Rescue gave 5 star service, particularly as my drive has restricted access and it was difficult to hitch my car up to the recovery vehicle. This is the second time I have had to get Start Rescue to recover my car, the previous time with a dead starter motor from a local village. Again their service was top class.
