Welcome to my Which? Trusted Trader profile. My name is Steven Brewer and I’m a painter and decorator with 17 years of painting and decorating experience. 12 years of this was spent in Berkshire, England and then 5 years ago my family and I decided to settle in Scotland.
I have proven experience in the following areas: wallpapering, coving, decorating bespoke kitchens, newly built houses and business such as hair salons and media studios.
I want all customers to be happy with the quality of my work and spend time to listen to what's needed so that I can tailor my skills to deliver the best result. I take pride in being honest and delivering a high standard of work and I’ve enjoyed the variety of jobs and clients I have worked with.

We found Steve on Trusted Trader and have been really pleased with all his work. He first did work in autumn 2020 when our flat was empty, decorating our lounge, stairway and 3 bedrooms. He did a great job, really neat painting and importantly was very reliable, coming to quote at an agreed time and doing the work when he had agreed. He prices accurately so you know how much things will cost upfront. He's honest and won't say he can fit you in if he's not got a space, this is great as you know where you stand in terms of timings. After our first chunk of work we booked in with him and he came back and finished all the other rooms (2 bedrooms, kitchen and hallway). We even left him the key and he did the hall and kitchen while we were away. He's a great example of how easy it can be to get work done when you have a tradesperson with skill who's honest and comes when they say they will. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

We found Steve on Which? Trusted Traders and contacted him over email. Right from the start, his communications were professional and helpful. Steve even helped us to get a discount on the paint we wanted from an online retailer. On the day, Steve turned up promptly and got to work. To say he is good at what he does is an understatement, and we were extremely impressed as we watched him go about his work. He is very neat and tidy, and the quality of his work is top-notch. We were delighted at the finished job! We would have no hesitation recommending Steve to others, and if we needed further paintwork in future he would be the first person we called.

Steve just completed feature walls with wallpaper in few rooms in our house today. We are super delighted with the job. Steve is very professional and very tidy. He always does the job very neat and with attention to every detail. We used Steve a few times and will only use him if any paint, plastering or wall paper job needs to be done in the house. Steve came out to paint our extension (which was still plaster). His communication beforehand was excellent and he really put a lot of effort into the job. He had to rectify some of the plaster for us which he was happy to do and got a huge amount of work done in a short space of time. He is very friendly, polite, neat and tidy. His advice on our paint and skirtings was great and he takes pride in the work he does. I would not hesitate to use Steve again.

I contacted Steve after hearing good things about his work from my parents, they said he was honest, reliable, does the job well and leaves the areas clean and tidy so I thought perfect. I contacted him to come and repaint my hall. He was professional, efficient, extremely tidy and does much more than just throw on some paint, he uses quality equipment and materials and every speck of dust is gone when he leaves. I have had him to price upstairs, competitively priced and worth every penny.
