Our solar power story: Three years ago we had Sunpower solar panels installed on our house. The panels have Enphase micro inverters which have been fantastic. Yes, they cost more upfront than a string inverter but they have already paid for themselves by generating more electricity. Since then, I have been waiting patiently for Enphase's IQ System Controller to be released in the UK. That adds battery storage with a backup capability. If the grid goes down, the batteries keep us running. Yes, we could have gone with a Tesla Powerwall but the Enphase products - micro inverters + batteries + backup work better together. The installer who put in our panels couldn't help - they didn't have any experience with the IQ System. So I called Enphase for advice. Enphase put me in touch with SW3 Green Energy Services - apparently one of their star installers. I'm so glad they did. Chris listened to what I wanted, made some good suggestions, and gave me a quotation. There was a 3 week wait for an installation slot which wasn't too bad given I had already been waiting 3 years for the product to become available. The kit and the team arrived right on time. By the end of the day I was the proud owner of what Enphase tells me is first IQ System Controller to be installed in the UK. What really impressed me was the quality of the workmanship - the attention to detail. The wiring is a work of art. Beautifully laid out and tidy. I will definitely be using SW3 again to add extra batteries.

Paul and Chris looked after me from the very start and proved knowledgable, dependable and reasonable on costs. Communication was excellent throughout and after sales a particular highlight. Installation was flawless and the team polite, friendly and tidy. My system is working great and the team keep an eye on it to keep it working as well as it was on Day One. Would highly recommend.

From initial contact through to completion and after care, SW3 have provided a faultless service. As a family run business, they really care. Communication was great throughout the process. They responded to any queries/requests promptly and attended appointments when they said they would. Installation was extremely efficient, all done in one day. Nick the roofer and Will the electrician worked efficiently and cleanly throughout the day and Will took great pains to ensure trunking in the house was as unobtrusive as possible. He took time to explain the complicated installation to us so that we understood it and installed the apps on our phones, talking us through how that worked too. This could have been a daunting project for us, but SW3 ensured the process was simple. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I really wasn’t sure about having solar panels fitted. I had heard of the benefits, but it is expensive and a real faff, so when I contacted SW3, I was unsure. I needn’t have worried. Paul took care of all the forms, and although I stored the materials for a couple of days, installation was completed in less than a day. If I had a question (and I did), Paul would always call me straight back with advice on how to communicate with energy companies. Very happy I chose SW3.

I’m really happy with how the Victron system installation turned out. The installer did a fantastic job, everything was finished perfectly, and you could tell they genuinely cared about getting it right. They paid attention to the small details and didn’t rush through anything. What stood out most was their willingness to go the extra mile. They took the time to troubleshoot and make sure everything was set up and working exactly as it should. It gave me a lot of confidence in the system and peace of mind knowing it was done properly. Overall, I couldn’t be more satisfied. If you’re looking for someone who knows what they’re doing and takes real pride in their work, I’d highly recommend them.

Fantastic service from the team. Paul initially came round and made recommendations on equipment but they were very accommodating when I specified the exact panels and battery which lead to a competitive quote and installation. I was communicated with throughout and knew exactly what was going to happen and when. Where they really stand out for me is the overall service and endless patience shown by Chris to answer my numerous questions as I try and optimise the system. SW3 diagnosed a problem with our existing PV system, inverter quoted for a replacement plus battery and carried out the installation. All appointments were kept, options were explained clearly and the work was carried out on the agreed day to the agreed price with no add-ons. All queries were answered promptly. It was a pleasure doing business with all their personnel.

SW3 prides itself on being a local, family run business which recognises the importance of professional integrity. In my experience it lives up to that ideal. Father and son, Paul and Chris were thorough in surveying our property and energy use and recommended a system suitable for my needs...and my roofs. Paul is a great advocate for solar but there was no hard sell (unlike my former electricity supplier) and Chris was clear on dates, timings and what to expect. Scaffolding was erected in advance to allow a thorough inspection of our roof and enable some re-felting. The installation team was led by electrician, Jamie. He and his team worked exceptionally hard throughout the day. Jamie was assiduous in his attention to detail and all his wiring work was completed neatly. Jamie gave a thorough explanation of how to use the websites that monitor battery and inverter use . The final sign off certification was completed by return and Chris monitored the system remotely for a week before requesting the dismantling of the scaffolding. All in all SW3 led by Paul and Chris have been outstanding from start to finish. They have carefully chosen their installation teams to ensure they provide high quality work. The installation is complete and generating power but Paul and Chris have been clear that they on hand to answer any queries I might have.

I have solar panels and one of the inverters stopped working. I discussed it with SW3, who had fitted a storage battery several months previously. They pointed out the inverters were old and out of guarantee and suggested I replace both. The quote was very reasonable and the cost would pay back in < two years. I asked for a guarantee the new equipment would not compromise my FIT tariff. They assured me the goods were not an upgrade but a match for the old pair. They suggested I contact my energy supplier, which I did. They confirmed replacement without an upgrade met FIT requirements The goods delivery and installations were fixed and met. The installation was efficient and Jamie made sure I understood the updated app. Both inverters are delivering a better performance in accordance with the specification and better than the old kit. The advice to replace both was correct. SW3 are courteous and efficient in responding to phone calls but less so with web site queries They do not install EV charging timers but are contacting reliable companies who do. Rob F

I've been looking for someone to install solar panels for a while - but all the big companies said my roof was non-standard I found SW3 Green Energy Services on recommendation from a neighbour They were fantastic from start to finish They did the initial survey in person and answered all my questions Their quotation was reasonable - cheaper than other companies I looked at They had a great solution for my non-standard roof Paul kept me fully informed from the initial survey to the completion of installation Chris provided an expert electrical opinion The installation was very quick and efficient - they left the scaffolding up for a week to make sure everything was working The 'after care' was excellent The panels are working brilliantly and I'm currently up to 60% self-sufficiency with electricity on a sunny winter's day The whole experience was excellent and excellent value for money

A big thank you to Chris, Paul, and the whole team at SW3 Green Energy Services Ltd! About two months ago, they installed a 15-panel solar system with microinverters and a Powerwall battery. Despite some challenges with the roof ridge cap, they stayed on schedule and kept within the agreed budget, which I really appreciated. I’m already seeing the benefits of the system-saving on energy costs by using off-peak rates and getting good returns from the energy I export. What really impressed me about SW3 Green Energy was their professionalism and reliability from the start. They made everything easy, from the first quote to the final paperwork, and were always ready to answer questions or talk through details. I had specific requirements for the installation, including the location of the Gateway and Powerwall, plus integrating my Zappi EV charger, and they handled all of it smoothly. Even after the install was complete, my energy provider messed up the smart meter installation, which temporarily left my system offline. Chris didn’t hesitate to come back and fix it, getting everything up and running again. Their commitment to aftercare was just as strong as their initial service. After 5 years exploring our options and many failed attempts with other companies we met with SW3 Green Energy Services. We approached them with some skepticism, based on our previous experiences, but from day one their customer focussed approach and professionalism has given us exactly what we wanted and more! Within a matter of weeks (but with no pressure) we now have 7 panels and a battery and are producing soooo much electricity - way more than predicted. Chris and Paul have been, and continue to be, wonderful at answering all our detailed and multiple questions and the installation was incredibly smooth and professional. SW3 Green Energy Services designed and installed a 29 panel PV system with micro inverters and battery at our house. Paul and Chris were very helpful in guiding us through the process of choosing the system. As a family firm, they were always contactable. The installation went smoothly over two days, and the fitters were able to improve the location of the panels from the original designs. They did a neat job minimising the visual impact of the panels and cable runs. An initial glitch due to a required firmware upgrade was quickly resolved remotely. The system is performing very well. The power generated has been on average above that projected by SW3 in their design. The June sunshine has reduced consumption from the grid to virtually zero and we are looking forward to a rebate from Octopus in respect of power exported. Overall, we would wholeheartedly recommend SW3.

From the beginning, sw3 energy took the time to come on site to listen to my requirements and to see first hand what was available. First, Paul came to discuss my needs and then Chris followed to verify some of the more technical details. Both were very knowledgeable and they listened to what I was after and offered advice where needed. On accepting the quote, Paul kept me up-to-date with progress and timelines. During installation, the team were efficient and completed everything in a day. They also kept things neat and tidy. I'm very happy with sw3 and would highly recommend.

Stellar experience from start to finish. Chris, Paul, Sherri and anybody on their team has been extremely competent and nice to deal with. They inspected my property, provided a detailed survey suggesting a sensible setup, with good explanations about how it would all work together and they provided a very reasonable quote, with highest quality materials. On the day of the installation, they came, installed everything and by the end of the day they were able to get all my apps setup and properly configured with the energy provider. We are extremely happy and we would definitely recommend them to anybody wanting to solar proof their home.

Chris answered all my questions (of which I had many) and provided the optimum solution for our home. Safety was a keen objective for the team. The installation took longer than he expected but we were not charged more. The system is now working very well. Very appreciative. Would definitely recommend.
