Excellent job! Of three firms approached Techfor Energy were able to provide the most detailed advice, comprehensive survey and quote, for a fully bespoke 5.95kW solution. This was based on a range of options with realistic energy projections. Glenn was patient in explaining all the pros and cons around creating the optimum system and his team was efficient and responsive throughout the installation. The system effectively runs itself, with only minor tweaking by app (which gives some great insights into power generation, battery flows, and usage). Glenn has further advised on the best settings to benefit from Octopus’s ‘Flux’ time-based tariff. One month in, results are better than expected despite the winter gloom. Highly recommend.

When the inverter failed on our solar system, Glenn came to discuss micro-inverters. He was very knowledgeable and encouraged us to consider a battery which we agreed to. Techfor Energy installed the micro-inverters, additional panels and a Powerwall battery and subsequently have also installed out Zappi EV charger. We are delighted with our Solar package and do not hesitate to recommend Techfor Energy.

Glenn and the team were really informative, helpful and completed the 5kw battery addition to our solar system really efficiently and with little fuss (this was an addition to a solar system they also put in a few years ago and has been running perfectly ever since). At the end of 2023 Techfor Energy installed 8 additional solar panels, a Tesla battery and a car charger at our property. Initially, I was mostly interested in a battery, but Glenn pointed out that I had space on a SE facing roof which could take additional solar panels to make us even more grid independent. I was very reluctant to let anyone onto our new roof, having had a bad experience with the company which installed the first solar array. However, Genn told me how meticulously he trains his roofers and how he ensures that nothing is damaged in the process. His team o scaffolders, roofers and electricians were very competent, polite and left the sites (roof, garage, driveway) spotless. Almost a year later, I am happy to report that we have been 100% self-powered (Tesla speak for not using any electricity from the grid, etc.) between the 17th of March and the 7th of September this year. Even in gloomy January we were 45% self-powered. Besides feeling smug about saving the planet and being grid independent, I am sure that electricity prices will inevitably go up even more to pay for the energy transition (increasing capacity of the grid) and that blackouts might become more common once net-zero forces everyone onto the grid. I highly recommend Techfor Energy and appreciate Glenn’s continued advice regarding most cost-efficient tariffs.

Techfor Energy installed my solar in late Jan this year, and shortly afterwards my Tesla battery & I've never looked back. Best decision of my life in regards to my energy usage. Since April I've mostly been off grid, both for electricity & gas (as I also had a EDDI installed which heats the water). In 6 months my setup has produced some 2700 kwh from 13 panels (& we haven't had a great spring/summer yet!) From beginning to end, through the initial conversations with owner Glenn, then through his very comprehensive roof survey, installations & subsequent aftercare (with the inevitable questions with regards to app customisations), the whole process has been efficient & stress free. MY JOURNEY INTO SOLAR POWER! Best thing I ever did was phoning Tech4energy and speaking with the owner, Glenn. I made an initial appointment and Glenn visited promptly and carried out a full survey of my home’s potential for Solar Panels. The survey was extremely comprehensive and the following week I received a very detailed report with options and the relevant costings. At no time did I feel pressured to adhere to Glenn’s advice but I am happy I took it. Day of installation arrived and everything went extremely smoothly and to plan. The guys installing were extremely neat and tidy and everything was completely cleared up at the end of each day. On the 3rd day in the afternoon the Solar Panels went Live I had a battery installed and Electric Vehicle charger. These were suggested by Glenn and have proved to be invaluable. The battery stores up power during the day and I am running my home on Solar power. I have purchased an electric vehicle and a full charge costs approximately £7.50. I’m also now using my Tumble Dryer regularly - previously a once in a blue moon luxury. I cannot thank Glenn and his Company enough for the quality of my installation. My electric bill is now minimal and I am no longer afraid to use my electric appliances. My quality of life is so much improved and I just wish I’d switched to Solar Power sooner. Glenn is an expert in the filed and explained our options well. He has also always been available for after installation questions and helping set up the different apps to be as efficient together as possible. Installation was efficient and easy with no problems and very courteous staff.

Tech for Energy were professional from the outset. The survey demonstrated how we could benefit from an additional 5 panels & a Tesla battery installed in the garage as well as improving the efficiency of the existing 9 panels. The work was completed in a thorough and very satisfactory manner, and on-time despite one very windy day. Very satisfied with the results. Our electricity consumption from the grid dropped 97% on the first full month (May 2024) of use.

Our recent solar upgrade to add extra panels and a Tesla battery to our system originally designed and installed by Techfor Energy a couple of years previously was once again a very professional job. From the initial assessment which took a number of hours, to the final commissioning, great care and attention to detail was evident from the whole team. The work was carried out over the period specified and exactly for the quoted cost. The Increased generation capacity and battery have allowed us to run an EV and power the house for free over the first month of use. We have exported more energy than we have used on sunny days. We are very pleased with the outcome. I chose Techfor Energy initially as they were a Which magazine trusted trader, Checkatrade listed and MCS certified.

Techfor Energy's technical director was brought in after I'd been swindled out of more than £3,500 by a fly-by-night company claiming to be solar power experts. Luckily I'd paid by credit card, and Which? had advised me that I had the right to compensation under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The card supplier's Complaints Dept was defensive and dismissive, but the tone changed when I was eventually transferred, months later, to their Section 75 Dept. These people demanded an opinion from an independent expert, but they gave me a full refund immediately when they saw Techfor's authoritative report, which was detailed and realistic and said the whole thing had probably been a scam.

Another outstanding interaction with Tech for energy. They installed my solar system and a Tesla Powerwall at the end of last year which I am very pleased with. Glenn wanted to make sure that I was getting the maximum benefit from my system. He knows the energy market and the tech very well and took the time this month to follow up on my system and guide me through adjusting the settings on my battery to mine maximum value from the market. I now charge my battery at cheep rates when the battery has forecast dull weather the coming day and (the battery) leaves it to the sun if the forecast is for sun. I fitted my first solar and Tesla battery system back in 2018. I was sufficiently impressed with the survey, installation and after sales service and support that I received from Techfor Energy - I fitting a second system a year later at another property. The second system was at my home address and with the purchase of a fully electric car I achieve extra benefit when surplus energy produced goes to charging the car. Now that is what I call saving the planet. Now six years on from the first installation I am getting fast and helpful advise from the Techfor Energy team whenever I have a question. That type of aftercare service is hard to find these days.

Glenn and his team did a superb job. They designed and installed our solar panel system, complete with a Tesla Powerwall storage battery and a MyEnergi-'Eddi' hot water unit. We are with "Octopus" and are using their overnight reduced ("Intelligent") rate. We also have a MyEnergi "Zappi" car charger. We are saving very substantially on electricity. We are extremely pleased and would not hesitate to recommend TechFor Energy.

Glenn and his team did a great job designing, procuring and installing our solar PV system, complete with battery storage and hot water. We are now using only around 10% peak time electricity with the rest either direct from the solar panels or the cheaper overnight rate. We are very happy!

Tech4 Energy originally initially installed our Solar PV, Tesla Powerwall II battery and myenergi equipment. They did a fantastic job and the system has been in operation for 3 years now. HOWEVER, we made the mistake of going with a 3rd party supplier (major UK "green" electrical supplier) to install a Zappi EV charger. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. The engineers from the 3rd party company were not trained, did not understand how to integrate the Zappi charger into our (myenergi) installation, violated Heath & Safety and electrical compliance standards. PLEASE DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE, USE SOMEONE LIKE TECH4 ENERGY.

Techfor designed and installed our first PV array which has delivered and payed back exactly as planned so they were the go to for our expanded PV and battery system. From survey through system design to installation their expertise, attention to detail and customer service has been excellent. The new system is now delivering, has eliminated our need to purchase any day time grid energy and is on track to reduce our electricity bill by over 80%.

Excellent company, I have worked with Techfor Energy twice. They installed my first solar system in 2013 and I have been so pleased with it that I asked them to upgrade and augment the system in 2023. After a thorough survey (not a sales pitch) I went with Glenns advice and now have a system that charges my car, heats my water and a Tesla power wall that stores excess for overnight use with green energy I am still exporting to the grid and Glen has taken the time to follow up to ensure the system is working to its optimum output. The quote was detailed and easy to understand. The team were very polite, professional and efficient. always on time and tidy. They have also been available for rare after sales queries. I am delighted with my seamless system. Completely off grid for most of the year I have already had my 1st off grid week in January. Techfor are based locally near us. Glen Ashby took great care with the initial survey and design work. Brought us along at each stage by clear explanations. No hard sell. We were impressed by their whole approach. The job was done in two stages - the installation of the panels, and then the installation of the Powerwall batteries. The batteries were on a very long delivery because of high demand for Tesla batteries. The installations were carried out efficiently and professionally. The batteries have made a very big difference - we got to the stage in the summer of resenting having to pay for any electricity even though we run an electric car. There was one small glitch with the battery installation which Techfor fixed straight away.

Tech4energy was recommended to me by my neighbour who had a solar pv system fitted by them. I contacted them and Glen came out and did a thorough survey, and gave advice as to what would be the best system for us. We wanted to be able to go off grid as much as possible. Heat our water, charge EVs, and store excess energy. So quote accepted, we went ahead. The install team were polite, friendly, and professional. 100% happy! We achieve everything we want from our system. So when the sun shines we can heat our water ( A new water cylinder with bottom fed immersion heater required). Charge the Tesla powerwall battery, and charge an EV. A Zappi charger allows fast charging off the grid and a slower charge from solar energy. On a cloudy day, obviously energy production is less. 5kw/h on a sunny summer day max. 0.5 to 1.5 kw/h on a cloudy day. We can still run the house and charge the battery, and some water heating. Not enough for an EV charge. Winter time will be less obviously. So far in 6 weeks we have not used any energy from the grid. We use the battery at night and morning until the sun does its job. We are on Intelligent Octopus for off peak energy at night 7p/kw/h, so we can charge an EV cheap rate if we need to. Outgoing octopus for exported energy. 15p/kw/h. Glen advised us on all of the above, and we are extremely happy. Thanks Glen. One of the best things we have spent our money on.
