George, Mark and the team did a great job getting our solar install in - despite the fact that our house kept throwing up challenges. The experience began well - no unnecessary upselling, a conversation about what our requirements were and a discussion that allowed us to get a system specified that met our needs with a bit of headroom and that was affordable. As the job went on and the aforementioned obstacles were thrown up, the team got things sorted quickly and always had a plan to adapt. The roofers that they worked with were top notch and did a fantastic renovation of our flat rooves to take the panels. All in all a great installation. I have to specifically call out the quality of advice and guidance throughout - things were recommended that were far from the easy option for them, but they were the right option.

George was very responsive. Came to see us promptly and provided a very competitive quotation. The work was carried in a timely fashion. All of the installation team were professional, courteous, skilled and friendly. We would highly recommend The Solar Co.

We contracted The Solar Co. to install a new roof incorporating integrated solar panels and a solar battery. We were extremely impressed with George and Mark’s professionalism and work ethic throughout the project. They kept us regularly updated on progress, answered all our questions promptly, and always made time to discuss options and next steps. We were so pleased with the quality of their work that we subsequently engaged them for several additional projects that had been long overdue — including replacing guttering, soil stacks, and a flat roof, as well as installing a new boiler, upgrading the underfloor heating, and carrying out some internal improvements. We would not hesitate to recommend George and Mark, and have received additional compliments from our neighbours on the excellent standard of their work.

We contacted The Solar Co after our inverter stopped working and George was super responsive and helpful. He came round to check out our current installation and gave us a couple of quotes (one to fix the problem and the other to install a battery). We ended up going for the latter and within a month we were back up and running better than before. Dan, Matt and the installation team did a fantastic job and worked so efficiently. They explained the new system to us really well and the team have been so responsive with questions we have had afterwards as well. We have been really happy with the experience and would definitely recommend them to everyone! Thank you guys so much!

Our goal was to get solar in place, but we had several things to do first, including replacing the existing roof. George and team were very flexible, able to work around the various times when they could do (due to weather and other work we had going on). They were able to deliver things in a phased way that was beneficial to us - installing the battery and inverter early, which meant we could make better use of our overnight cheap electricity All work was completed to budget and delivered on agreed timescales. Great communication - from explaining things early on to support after the install. There were some minor issues, but all were worked out to our satisfaction.

George and Mark were very helpful, explained things very well and took trouble to make sure we understood how things were going. They were prompt in answering our queries. The installation process was prolonged as we needed a flat roof replaced but all the workmen were efficient, helpful and friendly. They were recommended by a neighbour and I'm delighted with the outcome.

Our new solar system (21 panels, 10 kWh battery, and Zappi) was up and running yesterday afternoon — and it was so cool seeing the panels making “lecky” (electricity)! George, Mark, and their team were superb. As others have said, the process starts with George visiting in person, armed with his fancy drone that measures and maps your roof. He discovered we could fit 21 panels up there — this after another company told us our roof wasn’t even suitable for panels (haha). Like another reviewer mentioned, our consumer unit is awkwardly located in the middle of the house under the stairs, but George came up with a smart, workable solution. He also set up the Zappi so it can never drain the battery — an issue you’ll see discussed online, especially if you’re on Octopus Intelligent Go. The roofers arrived promptly at 7:30 a.m. on installation day, with the electricians not far behind. Mark and George were also on site, making sure everything ran like clockwork. From start to finish, it was a completely stress-free experience — such a nice group of people, all of them. They clearly take pride in their work, and their professionalism is impeccable. If you can, go local. That’s what we did — and it means the same people you read about in the reviews are the ones who turn up and do the job. We haven’t got an EV yet, but when we do (soon!), I won’t hesitate to call George and Mark again.

Superb team. Reliable, thorough, speedy, and charming. They sent up a drone to check the layout and provided a fully detailed spec and responded to queries quickly and thoroughly. Cannot fault them. I had two options and chose The Solar & Renewables Co. Ltd because of their thorough assessment and comprehensive documentation (and they are a Which? trusted company).

The Solar Co recently installed 15 panels on our flat roofs, an inverter and battery in the loft, and an EV charger at the front of the house. The work was exceptional. Their team of roofers and electricians were friendly, professional and completed everything efficiently by 2pm. What really impressed me was their willingness to do things other companies refused. Octopus Energy said we could only have 7 panels, wouldn’t work on flat roofs, and wouldn’t install the battery or inverter in the loft. They also planned to run visible cabling through the house. The Solar Co managed to run everything under the floors, leaving no mess or damage. Mark and George, who run the business, were brilliant—clear communication throughout and on-site during the job to check everything was done to a high standard. They also made sure we understood how everything worked before leaving. After the install, they stayed in touch to finalise paperwork for grid export and returned free of charge to adjust one slightly shaded panel. They’ve been helpful and responsive from start to finish. Even our neighbour booked them after seeing the quality of their work. Highly recommended!

George and Mark have been amazing to work with. From the first meeting with George, it was evident that he's passionate about what he does and fully understands the intricacies of the pre-install calculations to enable him to advise on the best set up required for our personal needs. He and Mark have an excellent team, who are polite, hard working and very professional. They kept to time and are very reliable. One of the most reassuring things was that they have extremely high standards of install, and a highly qualified and expert electrician, to ensure the correct fitment and cabling. They use excellent roofers whose work was completed to a high standard and I was not overcharged - they also reviewed the condition of my roof and made sensible cost effective suggestions, which were completed at the same time. Since the install, George has ensured that all the paperwork was completed with the network company and supplier and that the system was working perfectly. In addition, after a visit from Octopus, a misplacement of sensors resulted in a problem, which George very kindly arranged for his own electrician to come out and sort, rather than me trying to chase Octopus for a re-visit. For years I had hesitated about getting solar, purely because of concerns as to who to get it done by. I can wholeheartedly recommend George, Mark and his team at the Solar Co, and can also confirm that communication continues even after the job, whenever I have any questions.

We were recommended The Solar Co. by nearby friends who'd used them for their solar panels, and we're so glad they did. We used The Solar Co. to reinstate our entire roof (ready for solar panels) and remove an unused chimney stack, and to then install 21 panels feeding through to a Sunsynk inverter and 16kWh Fogstar battery. We're thrilled with the results. Great communication from the start and an end product that exactly matched what was described in the quote. Pragmatic solutions were proposed and agreed upon for the few inevitable issues that arose - we felt engaged and consulted with throughout. The attention to detail and pride in their work was evident at every step, and they kept in regular contact (in person, by text and by email as needed) to keep our minds at rest. All questions were answered quickly and clearly, the latter being particularly useful as we are solar novices (so had some very basic questions to address). Great communications from the start to the finish. Easy company to do business with. They did exactly what they said they would and exactly when they said they would do it. Not often you can say these days. Really nice team and although it's early days the product seems to be working great too.

George and Mark have been excellent to work with from start to finish. In fact, they were speaking to me about the job for well over a year before it even started and have always been available to offer their advice. I have been so impressed with their attention to detail and expertise, and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Brilliant company, panels, batteries and all wiring was done within a day. George and his colleagues were very informative about what the the system could achieve and which energy plans-companies I should be going with

George at Solar co visited us for an initial consultation and came up with a clever solution to maximise our Solar power production at a very reasonable cost. Mark visited for a more detailed survey and planning. The price of the installation would be only slightly higher than competitors’ prices, but with double the number of solar panels and a much larger storage battery this gave us a shorter break-even point for our initial expenditure. On the day of the installation the team were friendly and efficient and had installed all the solar panels before midday. The electrician completed the work in the afternoon with it up and running by 4:00 PM, with George and Mark regularly checking the routing of cables and conduit to ensure minimal visual impact. All electrical work appears to be of exceptional quality, and since installation, functioning and power output has been excellent, probably exceeding George’s predictions. The only issue we experienced was when the scaffolders dented the garage door which I didn't notice until the following day, but after calling George he came around within the hour and arranged a repair which was completed to a very high standard after just a few days. The repair is virtually invisible. Exceptionally Friendly, Communicative and Cooperative.

The Solar Co installed our solar panels and battery system a couple of years ago and it has been performing very well. At the end of last week we had what turned out to be a minor problem with a component. Our message to the company got a very fast response and they soon had us back up and running. Really good customer service from a friendly and helpful team.

We had a broken solar panel that needed replacing. I contacted George and Mark about a replacement and they got back to me in quick time. They offered me dates that they could come and replace it working around my work day. Once here they were very professional as usual, did the work to a great standard. I relocated to Gloucestershire from SW London in 2024 & carried out an extensive extension & renovation of a 140 year old period cottage. There is no mains gas here and the existing property had oil fired heating from a big ugly tank in the garden. I wanted to run the property on electric only and to do so as cheaply as possible in order to insulate ourselves from possible electricity price increases. I knew it would involve batteries so I also wanted an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) in the event of a power cut. To my surprise I couldn’t find many solar companies out there that would offer this element. Mark & George at The Solar & Renewables Company had no issues at all with the UPS. They also advised I use the really smart GSE in roof system which looks amazing and also saved me a lot of money on slates! Their quote was extremely competitive & the work was all carried out in a single day at the exact time I needed it in the build schedule. Now we are living here and have had some decent weather I can see how George’s calculations were in no way optimistic! Our electric bill is tiny compared to our last house and even better it’s the only bill!! We also had a Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump & hot water system installed by them taking advantage of the £7,500 grant available. The system is working really well, the house was like toast during the very cold weather we had this winter I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Solar and Renewables Company

Right from the initial enquiry I have been delighted. The service was professional and friendly, everything was completed as agreed, the team was helpful and efficient. From the first impressions to final completion everything was excellent.

I found The Solar Co through the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) website. They were dedicated to recommending and installing the right solar system for our circumstances. They clearly communicated the options, with no hard sell. They answered all of my questions promptly. The install itself was straightforward. They also helped me navigate an awkward neighbour and access to their land (we wanted to install a cable on a side wall). I'm grateful for that. The install was quick, very neat and tidy. Also very professional.

Further details below but the summary is that they were very responsive and communicative throughout and we’re very happy with both the process and the end result. The price was equivalent to the Octopus quote but with much better service. Essentially we were holding back on getting it done because it’s difficult to know who might be cowboys in this fast-growing market, but we’re very happy we chose this small, owner-managed business to support. Further details: - We heard of the Solar Co because a neighbour got solar panels done by them and was happy with them - I had A LOT of questions and reservations about the process but George (the company is run by George and Mark) was more than happy to answer all of them - clearly and usefully! - via WhatsApp and over the phone - They’ve provided us with app access so we can get on with buying electricity from and selling electricity to the grid - the returns on this are much better than you might have been led to believe so the payback time for solar panels is much quicker than I thought. The key is a flux tariff - George can provide more details - They also cleared our gutters and removed some annoying, useless cables from the side of the house - nice touch. - Installation was a one-day job Good guys, very pleased with the outcome!

I selected George and the Solar Co after getting advice and quotes from several firms. In summary – I could not be more delighted and would recommend them without hesitation. They are knowledgeable, efficient, polite and have a real focus on customer care. System. A 7KW solar array of 16 panels, an inverter and a 15.5kw battery. Sales process. At no time did I feel “sold to”. George provided information and advice and let his knowledge and experience sell itself. Importantly, George visited or called when he promised – rare for traders these days! The price quoted was not the cheapest but was highly competitive and was exactly what I paid – no extras. Installation. The Solar Co team were fantastic. They were friendly, polite and efficient and took special care to minimise the impact of works on my neighbours (they had to scaffold on a shared driveway). Installation took a day and was neat and exactly as described in the sales process. The team left everything exceptionally clean & tidy and kept me informed throughout the day of progress. After sales care. I had a minor hardware issue – no fault of the Solar Co. George was super responsive to work with the inverter supplier to fix the issue, keeping me informed of progress at every turn. He also stressed that I should not pay the outstanding balance until I was happy everything was fixed and working.

I wanted Solar panels with a battery installed, however, who do I go to? Octopus and Heatable have their online quotes but their quotes don't include bird protection or any of the miscellaneous stuff. I reached out to George at Solar Co. and he offered to drive over, he sent up his drone to look at the roof and later that day he sent over his quote with the elements he would install. After I called him several times to check on this and that, we agreed a price. On installation day all elements of the Solar Co Team were polite professional and helpful. Nothing was a challenge for them. George called in throughout the day to ensure the project ran on time without any hitches. The day after the installation, George emailed me my certificates and licences for selling to the grid. I am very pleased I went with a local business and went with Solar Co (George & Mark) I would happily recommend Solar Co to anyone.

George, Mark and the team were awesome. Despite the worst weather the British summer could throw at then they delivered - all installed amazingly neatly despite complexity of the existing system. They kept us updated as the project progressed and was all at a very reasonable price. They were recommended by friends and I’d have no hesitation doing the same.
