Tony provided good quality workmanship from a long standing family business. Work was carried out quickly by courteous and accommodating workers.

I have been using Thomas Roofing for over 30 years, for repairing Welsh slate pitched roof at front, replacing or repairing the zinc flat roof at rear, and many smaller jobs too. Visits are prompt, estimates given, jobs scheduled, workmanship a very high standard.

Roof was leaking and old. New roof completed in one day. Tony explained at every stage, helpful . No payment until work completed. Happy with new roof and no issues so far. Long guarantee if any problems.

Thomas Roofing Contractors has been sorting out our roof and gutters for over 15 years. We find him and his crew to be honest and reliable. We don't go by price alone, though that has to be taken into account. But knowing his work is always done to high standards, using the most appropriate materials, is reassuring. His advice is always taken on board. He recently refurbished our soffits, faciaboards, gutters and downpipes to a high standard. He gave us a price we were happy with, and he stuck to it. He invoiced us after the job was done to our satisfaction. They remain our go-to roofers. And we've recommended the company to others, who were equally happy with their work.

A polite, pleasant, straightforward craftsman who has carried out two excellent pieces of work, one the changing of a complete flat roof, and one finding a cure for what had been long-term leaks on a complicated Pitched roof construction. Old school civil and caring.

They came to inspect the leaky flat roof in our new property. Swift quote and a good price. However when ripping off the old roof, they discovered more problems (which we expected). He gave a very fair quote for the extra work. Due to this the work took longer than expected which wasn't a problem for them and was prioritised. We will use them again in the future to replace other parts of our roof.

A positive experience all around, from a good, professional firm. The quote was reasonable (especially compared to others, who wanted to install scaffolding for a day's work on a single storey extension with steps access), and their suggestion for fixing the leak made the most sense. They were punctual and hard working, and they seem to enjoy what they do. Tony explained things clearly which was reassuring, as unfortunately it can be difficult for women to deal with some builders. I was a bit jumpy after a series of unpleasant experiences with tradesmen - which is why I now use Which? Trusted Traders at all times - but they were understanding about this. Jack - Tony's son and apprentice - did most of the fetching and carrying (and there was a lot), and he took great care not to damage anything, and he offered to do a few extra bits of repointing, which was considerate and much appreciated. The work was completed on time and everything left tidy. The roof looks terrific - a massive improvement - but most importantly, it is finally waterproof. I have no hesitation in recommending this firm.

I used Thomas Roofing in another attempt to locate the leak in my flat roof as I have had other company’s look and they were unable to locate it. Thomas roofing came out on the time agreed and was quick to find the problem. They quoted me a reasonable price and started work at the agreed date. Tony and his 2 roofers replaced my flat roof on the back extension of my Victorian house. The work proved to be more extensive than initially thought requiring scaffolding, but Tony communicated well and the job was well done. I have since called Tony to look at various problems and he has been very willing to come out. He is a genuine guy who likes to be helpful.

I contacted this trader about a problem with my guttering. I left a message. He called me back within the hour, but did not know the nature of the job as he hadn’t listened to my message. His tone was very abrupt. However, he did say that he would inspect the guttering two days later and asked me to send a photo of the portion of the guttering that appeared to be the problem, which I duly did. I told him that I could not be at home but it was ok to visit. I hadn’t heard from him so the day after he had arranged his inspection I contacted him. He told me he wouldn’t do the job. He has a right not to take the job but once again he was abrupt to the point of rudeness. I think he could benefit from some training in customer relations.

We had two leaks on a roof and our builder (we were doing work at the time) could not find what the issue was. Being a member of Which? Local (at the time), I called Thomas roofing since he rated well on the site. I also called in a local building company my neighbours knew in order for their roofer to come in and check it out and in order to get two quotes. The latter wanted to make us pay for a survey to find out what the issues were first. I don't have an issue with that as such but he made us wait three weeks between his visit to review the roof and his offer to carry out a full survey. Tony was the most responsive. He found the issues right away, came in on time the day he said he would and fixed the roof here and there. The scaffolding company damaged slightly one of our gutters when removing the scaffold. I called Tony again and he came back right away to fix it, no question asked, no added fee. I would call him again for any roofing issues for sure.

April 2017 Mr Thomas came promptly to inspect a leak on my roof; changed two tiles, put mastic (or sealant) and recommended further work. I paid him promptly. However, he did not produce an estimate, did not return phone calls, was annoyed when I asked him to detail what he had done ("photos are enough; I shouldn't need to write an essay"). It is hard to comment on the quality; other roofers have not been complimentary about it - but I suppose that is standard, and I just don't know enough to judge for myself.
