Tincknells serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire. It’s already a well-known name in the South West, with a great reputation for integrity and customer service. Company director Rob Ormond and heating services manager Richard Beck both emphasise that Tincknells is a ‘modest’ company, concerned more with providing a good service than making a fuss about it. But its recent win could change all that.

Tincknell Heating Services is one wing of the long-established fuel business, Tincknell Fuels. ‘It’s a win for the industry,’ said Rob Ormond. ‘The fuel industry, which we’re part of, doesn’t always get the best press, but this is a really positive step.’

I woke to find my boiler was not working. I phoned Tincknells at 9.00 and they arranged for an engineer to be with me between 11.00 and 1.00. He came at 12.00. He spent sometime checking everything and then informed me that a component on the computer board was not working. He said he had checked with the company stores and they didn’t have one so they had ordered one. It would be delivered to the company the following day. He apologised for the delay in getting my boiler working. On the following day another engineer arrived, and fitted the part. Whilst fitting it he noted that a different part had caused the computer component to blow and he changed this as well. My boiler was repaired. Throughout the whole process I was kept fully informed by office staff and the engineers about what they were doing, when they were doing it and why. I was impressed by their professionalism, effectiveness and customer service. I have no hesitation in recommending Tincknells.

I have used Tincknell Fuels for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. When I was told nothing could be done, the manager of Tincknell was on the phone talking me through my options. I decided on Monday to have a new boiler and on the Tuesday it was installed. They offered to bring electric heaters so I wouldn't get cold. They kept their distance the whole time they were here. First Class.

From first coming to quote for the work for a new oil fired external boiler to installation Ticknells did a first class job. I particularly liked the fact that Ollie came to quote and he headed up he team of installers. Nothing was a problem, they communicated throughout the job and did a high quality installation. They were problem solvers, always polite and helpful. They came on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. They were careful to test everything and left plenty of time to ensure everything was working properly before they left. I had clear instructions on the system I am delighted with the result. Tinknells have serviced my boiler for a number of years and they are always very quick to come out if you have a failure and do not leave until they have sorted the problem. I would not go anywhere else.

Repair fault - Stuck valve which prevented water circulation

We have been with Tinknell since shortly after we moved to Dorset, ie: around 40+ years (we are in our 80's) and have always admired and been grateful for the staff, always polite and efficient and understanding and for the speedy service provided which in this case which was particulally gratifying. A second visit was speedily organised following a first and involved Liam and his associate and the problem - a stuck valve - quickly identified and corrected. The whole system was checked and was, and is currently, working well as it had been previously. The problem could not have been dealt with more effectively and speedily with humour, enthusiasm, and friendliness. Liam and we had met on a previous visit some time ago and it was like old friends meeting up. We remembered each other with pleasure... The whole organisation is a great example of how a service should be and we are so grateful. We feel valued which is a great feeling. Thank you to everyone...receptionists, organisers and engineers/electricians...

The initial phone contact with the firm (Nick Turner) was very helpful and informative and helped me make a decision on the boiler model. I was given a realistic estimate of the time schedule which was totally adhered to. The engineer who came to assess the work was again, very informative and happy to answer questions. The two you men who turned up to do the actual work were polite, considerate and very efficient. All personnel turned on on time. An unexpected hitch was the access to the outgoing flue, promptly resolved by someone from head office bringing a longer ladder! The lovely bunch of flowers at the end marked the close of a very good experience. I would recommend this (local) firm to anyone

I have had a service contract on our oil boiler for a few years. The team are always accommodating to my busy diary and have been flexible when disruptions such as Covid has occurred. I have recommended Tincknell a number of times to other Oil CH owners. Their engineers are particularly accommodating, and efficient. Great, professional service.

The engineering attended diagnosed the fault swiftly (obstruction in the fuel line between the tank and inlet) and revolved the issue. Excellent service from an experienced competent engineer. Very pleased.

Rapid replacement of faulty components

Engineer called in when an oil leak was noticed in the boiler. This work is covered by our service plan. The hydraulic ram on the air flap was dripping and was replaced rapidly by the engineer. It was then noticed that there was a slight seepage from the isolation tap, which was also replaced. We have used Tinckell's for over thirty years to maintain our oil boilers. They are always reliable, friendly and courteous. Well cleaned and cleared up after work was completed,

New External Boiler installation

Our old internal boiler was leaking and beyond repair. The suggestion for a replacement was a new external boiler, which we were initially unaware of as an option. However, we were happy with the proposal and upside pf internal space being freed up. The work was commenced on schedule, completed on schedule - consideration of some ongoing unrelated building work all taken into account without needing any input from myself. Very happy with the whole process and confirmation of the competence we've had from Tincknells in the past in servicing our boiler and keeping it going as long as it lasted.
