Tincknells serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire. It’s already a well-known name in the South West, with a great reputation for integrity and customer service. Company director Rob Ormond and heating services manager Richard Beck both emphasise that Tincknells is a ‘modest’ company, concerned more with providing a good service than making a fuss about it. But its recent win could change all that.

Tincknell Heating Services is one wing of the long-established fuel business, Tincknell Fuels. ‘It’s a win for the industry,’ said Rob Ormond. ‘The fuel industry, which we’re part of, doesn’t always get the best press, but this is a really positive step.’
Winning the Which? Trusted trader of the year award and being elevated above the thousands of other businesses on the Which? Trusted Traders scheme means a lot to the company. But it’s adamant that this won’t change the way it works.

Our aged boiled broke down. Phoned Tincknell who sent us a engineer David. He was brilliant. The boiler needed a new pump and other items to put it into working order. Tincknell reacted quickly to our problem. I was most impressed.

Cheerful and easy to have in the house

They installed a new combi-boiler and reinstated, re-sited and replaced radiators. The team of four were fast-working and, as far as I could tell, meticulous. They addressed any unforeseen hurdles with good humour and a can-do attitude. We felt reassured by their cheerful professionalism, and the excellent backup from the office and the surveyor. They completed the job well within the time allotted, and cleared up after themselves. They briefly explained how to work the system. A huge bunch of flowers appeared on the dining table, which was an unexpected delight. The heating system works well, and we are comforted to know they are just up the road if it goes wrong. A couple of tiny irritants: the boiler team could have swept up a bit more carefully after the first day's work; also, they left a small hole broken in a piece of chipboard flooring, which we'll have to patch up. Generally excellent, and I would wholeheartedly recommend. Thank you, team.

Installation of new combi boiler

We had a great experience with Tincknells. Work was carried out promptly and within agreed timescale. We required a combi boiler to replace an old heating system. An engineer took time to do a site visit and discuss the options so we were able to decide what best suited us. After the installation the engineer took the time to explain the controls and recommended how to get the best out of the system. Great job efficiently done.

Tincknell installed our current heating system a number of years ago. They have serviced and maintained the system annually ever since, keeping it running perfectly. The Tincknell engineers have always been friendly and efficient, carrying out the work promptly and to a good standard.

We had a fault with our boiler and called for urgent help. 24 hrs later we were up and running again, with the problem diagnosed and new components fitted. Andy the engineer was most helpful and very thorough in checking the usual components for problems and carried the necessary parts in his van. A first-class service.

Dealt well with peripheral problems and replacement boiler installation

After a series of intermittent problems with our 12 year old central heating system which Tincknells did their best to resolve, we decided to have the boiler replaced together with the troublesome valves. This was done on the agreed day. The team arrived on time, were pleasant, quiet, wore masks all the time and left everything clean and tidy. All now well. We particularly like the fact that they are a local company. My wife particularly appreciated the big bunch of flowers they sent!

New Hot Water Cylinder

Work involved the removal of old heat storage cylinder and installation of an unvented cylinder. The old cylinder was approx. 25years old and the installation involved a considerable amount of new piping. The work was done on time and to the agreed cost. The installation team worked as a very effective team and clearly very knowledgable. Clear explanations given at the end of the installation to ensure full understanding of how the system worked.
