Tincknells serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire. It’s already a well-known name in the South West, with a great reputation for integrity and customer service. Company director Rob Ormond and heating services manager Richard Beck both emphasise that Tincknells is a ‘modest’ company, concerned more with providing a good service than making a fuss about it. But its recent win could change all that.

The team from Tincknell Heating did an excellent job for us removing an old Rayburn and putting in a new condenser boiler. They were neat, efficient, friendly and kept us up-to-date on the work as it progressed. I don't normally give 5 star reviews as I feel they are handed out too easily but feel that this is definitely an exception. Thank you

When our trusty old boiler broke the day after getting back from out holiday I rang Tincknells, who were just fabulous from the moment I spoke to the lovely lady on the phone. Nick phoned and a date for a new boiler was arranged. On installation day, Liam and Matt arrived on time and off they went. The day was unstressful, and fun. They worked really hard, left no mess and Liam explained how everything worked. Matt is just finishing his 4 year training and was watched by two really nice men from a local college. I'm going to take out the system care plan and I can't praise Liam and Matt enough. Before they went I was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers. A fabulous experience. I would recommend this company.

Annual Service carried out at the time specified. Cheerful positive engineer. No idea of the quality of work as I am not an engineer but I am confident any after care problems would be dealt with from previous experience. My only quibble would be that the invitation to have a service and the appointment were made by email but without any reference to the cost. So if I wished to go ahead I had to ask - hence the 4 Stars. I can't really rate the quality or value of this visit until I see how the boiler performs during the year but last year there was no problem so I've given 5 stars.

INSTALLATION OF REPLACEMENT CENTRAL HEATING BOILER

The contract was to remove the existing Heating Boiler and replace with a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar Danesmoor Utility Oil fired Boiler over a 3 day period 19 - 21 August. The team of 2 Technicians and one Apprentice arrived on time each day and worked to their published schedule with the team leader briefing us clearly at each stage of the work. All three were well presented, polite, courteous, cooperative and considerate and dealt with all our queries and observations including some additional tasks not originally planned for. All tasks were carried out professionally and they were very tidy workers clearing up as they went along. Once installed the new boiler was tested rigorously, the full heating system was flushed and cleaned twice before draining and refilling with inhibitor and final test. Several faults with radiators were rectified, a faulty new switch unit was replaced and a new floor air grille was fitted. The Team briefed my wife & I on all the controls, new equipment and actions to take in case of failures or emergencies and the manufacturer's guarantee and Tincknell Heating support. We were provided with a full set of manufacturer's operating manuals for each piece of new equipment. At time of completion and sign off, the Team presented my wife with a flower arrangement on behalf of the company. It was a job very well done!

As always Gerald arrived promptly, was pleasant and chatty, but got on with the job of servicing our Rayburn straight away. We only use the hot water side of the Rayburn, we do not use the cooker, so Gerald negotiated with the office to get a discount on our bill due to the reduced work required. All was completed in a fair and professional manner. I highly recommend Tincknell Heating for the prompt reliability and fairness of pricing.

This was the first time I had used Tinknells to service my oil fired boiler. Steve, the service engineer arrived promptly at the arranged time, and was competent and methodical in his work. The basic service was pre paid, but 3 additional items were identified as needing to be replaced. All of this was clearly explained, and the extra costs were detailed. When the work was completed the work area was left clean and tidy, and all materials were removed. The service sheet detailed the work done and showed the additional costs. A final invoice for the additional costs was received promptly.

All the engineers we have met during this time have been very professional and friendly. I can't praise Tincknell Heating enough. Although they are just my heating oil suppliers I needed their advice re my double skin tank as over the years rain water had built up between the two skins, the tank bund. This is a known fault with the lid on this particular tank, which I hasten to add, they did not install. The bund was emptied today of 400 litres of water. The two on site engineers then took the time to cover the lid with with some pond liner I had and security with a bungee cord.

Impressed with Tincknell Heating After initial phone call, the home visit to access requirements, quotation &date for installation although not the cheapest was all very quick & efficient. The team Ollie & Liam arrived on the date & time specified, both very polite & friendly. Ollie explained how they would carry out the work & kept us informed of progress. The work was carried out in an efficient & professional manner with minimal disruption. The work was completed on time, everything was left clean, tidy & the operation of the system explained. Pleased with the finished installation.

We called Tincknells after discovering an oil leak. Their response was quick and covered by our service agreement. Engineer Steve Ingman identified a faulty hydraulic ram in the boiler which he replaced. He has usually carried out our annual boiler service (also covered by our service plan) in recent years and is always professional, competent, friendly and thorough, and keeps the work area clean and tidy.

Our lpg central heating boiler broke down. We contacted Tincknells, who sent out an engineer the next day. When he found that it was beyond repair he explained the problem clearly and at our request arranged for a quotation for a replacement to sent within 24 hours. We accepted it at once, and arrangements for the work to be done were put in hand immediately, and adjusted to accommodate our need to be away from home for one of the days proposed. The works went exactly as planned and the installation team were friendly, polite, and very efficient.

Cold Showers in Winter - No Thanks!

Our boiler broke down just after Christmas. I called Tinknells Heating and an engineer arrived the same day. To repair it would have cost in excess of £500, so we elected to replace it as we guessed it was ancient. Ollie then came out to look at our sad, useless boiler and we had an estimate the following day. Unfortunately the plumbers merchants were all closed until 2 January, which meant cold showers for a week. I admit to improper language during that period. But first thing on 3 January, Ollie and Liam were on the doorstep, tools in hand! By 4pm that day, Beatrice Boiler was up and running. Hot showers were back. Both Ollie and Liam worked really hard all day, leaving everywhere clean and tidy. Thanks to them and the team back at base, Nick and Pat, who kept us updated throughout. We can’t recommend Tinknells highly enough.

Fitting new boiler

Our boiler broke down on December 12th and we contacted Tincknells for a visit on the 13th. The boiler was not able to be repaired and the same day we received a visit to quote for a new boiler. By late afternoon on the 13th, we had a detailed quote for a new boiler which we accepted. The boiler has been fitted on December 21st/22nd. The engineers Liam and Liam were punctual, thoroughly professional and did a fantastic job installing the new boiler. The quality of their workmanship has been excellent and they left everything in a very clean and tidy condition. We have used Tincknells to service our boiler for the last 15 years and their service, as always, has been exemplary.

I have used Tincknells Heating for a number of years. They have proved to be reliable with a well trained workforce that do jobs to time and well. This replacement proved the same. A housecall to provide an estimate was undetaken , checks on heating requirements and an estimate of cost were all done very efficiently. On installation day, the team arrived exactly on time. Two very pleasant engineers who unerdtook the work well and left everything clean and tidy. Simply and excellent job!

I am so grateful to Nick for all his help when my oil tank had a leak. I haven't used Tincknells in the past but couldn't get any help from my usual oil supplier. Although they were already very busy, Nick arranged for Mike to visit the same day & in fact, I only had to wait for a few hours before his arrival. Mike was also really helpful, sealed the leak & promised a quote to be sent to me quickly, which it was. On the arranged day, Mike & Gary arrived promptly & did a great job, emptying out my old tank, completing the ground work, removing the old tank & installing the new one. Thank you so much guys for making a pretty stressful time much easier to deal with. I will happily recommend you to others & will be using you as my oil supplier in the future.

Our leaking tank was dealt with by Tincknells and replaced within a week. Gary came and sealed the leak with soap! The team came back as scheduled and did the groundwork and then fitted the new tank and emptied the old one a couple of days later. A crane was needed to get the new tank into the garden. All was done with minimal damage to the garden with great good humour and expertise. What was scheduled as a days work only took half that time. Mike and Gary and the rest of the team were friendly and helpful and we were assured that if there were any after problems they would be on the case. I feel reassured that the work has been done by very competent professionals and would thoroughly recommend them.
