Tincknells serves customers across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and south Gloucestershire. It’s already a well-known name in the South West, with a great reputation for integrity and customer service. Company director Rob Ormond and heating services manager Richard Beck both emphasise that Tincknells is a ‘modest’ company, concerned more with providing a good service than making a fuss about it. But its recent win could change all that.

Tincknell Heating Services is one wing of the long-established fuel business, Tincknell Fuels. ‘It’s a win for the industry,’ said Rob Ormond. ‘The fuel industry, which we’re part of, doesn’t always get the best press, but this is a really positive step.’

Great support with solving a boiler fuel leak inside our kitchen!

A call back from Tincknells Thursday morning after our worried message the night before, led to one of their Engineers arriving before 10am, the same day. Fausto then assessed what the issue was, a pinhole leak on the internal fuel feed pipe. He carefully removed the failed pipe, made-up a like for like new replacement, re-fitted everything, then after carefully testing the final fitment, all was resolved. So, after no more than an hour, the leak was dealt with. What a professional task, carried-out by Fausto, a likeable, genuinely concerned person, who gave us considerable confidence in a job well done. A real credit to Tincknells. Brilliant team attitude. 👏 Still re-tiling and some decorating to resolve, but that will happen. Thanks from the Newton’s. 👍😎

We have an Aga and Mike from Tincknell has been servicing it for years - without fault. In fact I think his Dad did it before him. Mike is a delight - he services perfectly every time with no mess or hassle. I would recommend Tincknell.

Service was very thorough, and everything left clean and tidy. After the engineer examined the tank filters, one now started weeping fuel. This was eventually solved by replacing the offending filter in the following week, at no expense to me. All now good. Thank you

Had to have a new oil tank fitted on one of the coldest days of the year! The guys turned up on time and had the new tank installed and working within 2 hours. Left the area clean and tidy too. Thank you!

We use Tincknell Heating to service our Rayburn so when we had a leak down the side of the flue from the roof we asked them if they couls sort it. They were prompt, careful and thorough. They were happy to explain what they were doing and left everything neat and tidy.

Remove old boiler, replace with new Worcester and tidy pipework. Very quiet workers, incredibly tidy and clean workers. There was a problem identified so the guys came back next ay and got stuck in. Finished successfully by 14:30. Attic, house, garage and garden left as though no work done. (also punctual!). Immaculate and working. Engineers Keith and Ollie.

The engineer arrived well within the times previously agreed and carried out the annual service on our oil fired boiler in an organised manner. He was happy to discuss the progress of the service in a friendly way and advised there were no problems with the boiler, such that should be no need to replace the boiler any time soon. After the boiler service was complete, the area around the boiler was cleaned up leaving no trace of the work undertaken. The service included an inspection of the oil tank and the lines between the tank and the boiler, confirming all was in order.

Oil Boiler and AGA Servicing

I have used Tinknell Fuels to service my Grant oil boiler and oil burning AGA stove for about 19 years. On a couple of occasions I used other companies and so can make a clear judgement on the service provided by all. Tinknell engineers are experienced, very thorough and always do a very good job. Each appliance is broken down into many parts, cleaned thoroughly and if needed parts are replaced with a clear explanation of the reasons for doing so. You really get the impression that they have a thorough knowledge of the equipment and they readily share what they are doing and why, and provide clear advice on what is necessary to prolong the appliance’s life. In addition they leave the appliance and the area in which they have worked spotlessly clean. I cannot say the same for other engineers I have had to service my appliances. They are slip shod, do the minimum work necessary and are off before you know it. Tinknell’s are not cheap. Currently (2022) a boiler and AGA together cost about £350 incl VAT. However, for this you are assured of a very good service and thereafter an appliance that will function reliably until the next service. If something is not right and it has happened only once with an AGA burner, the engineer will return and fix it at no extra cost, as long as the problem is related to the service. Tinknells are a 5 star organisation and two of their many engineers, Andy Simpson and Mike Morgan, are a credit to their profession.

Impressed with Tincknell Heating After initial phone call, the home visit to access requirements, quotation &date for installation although not the cheapest was all very quick & efficient. The team Ollie & Liam arrived on the date & time specified, both very polite & friendly. Ollie explained how they would carry out the work & kept us informed of progress. The work was carried out in an efficient & professional manner with minimal disruption. The work was completed on time, everything was left clean, tidy & the operation of the system explained. Pleased with the finished installation.

Annual Service carried out at the time specified. Cheerful positive engineer. No idea of the quality of work as I am not an engineer but I am confident any after care problems would be dealt with from previous experience. My only quibble would be that the invitation to have a service and the appointment were made by email but without any reference to the cost. So if I wished to go ahead I had to ask - hence the 4 Stars. I can't really rate the quality or value of this visit until I see how the boiler performs during the year but last year there was no problem so I've given 5 stars.

Lee did a great job in the initial survey and following design process for our heat pump, accommodating our thoughts and requirements for future works in his design. The whole team was brilliant throughout the installation process, working professionally, efficiently, and always leaving the house in good order at the end of each day, to allow us to remain in residence despite a full rework of the whole heating system. I would not hesitate to recommend.
