Tincknell Heating

We have used Tincknell's for the past twenty years to service our ancient oil-fired AGA and our oil-fired boiler. We have also had them replace a radiator and install a new oil tank. Although they quoted for a new boiler, when the old one reached the end of its life, we chose a cheaper quote from a sole trader, which was not installed to the same standards Tincknell provides. We regret that. If there is an AGA or boiler breakdown, or post-service glitch, they send someone to fix it promptly. Their engineers are friendly and knowledgeable, and work cleanly and efficiently. They arrive when scheduled and deliver to price quoted. You can speak to a real person when you telephone, not a long recorded message. The person you speak to is always helpful. This local firm delivers reliable and high quality service and a personal touch. Although their rates are not cheap, you pay for quality. They have been in the heating business since 1925 - so they ensure that their engineers know their stuff. Not a cowboy amongst them! We have only once visited the store in Wells, so cannot rate their retail services.

Arrived on time, full service carried out without any interruptions or questions to us. Everything left neat and tidy (as it was before he started) and boiler running well. As usual excellent service.

I realise there are cheaper companies but can you trust them for repairs. I have always had good service. Not cheap but reliable.

We were left with no oil moving into a new house. Tincknell supplied oil the next day, and the engineer visited immediately afterwards to get the boiler working. Couldn't have asked for a more efficient response and the work was done very quickly. I was also impressed about how knowledgeable the engineer was, and gave me a lot of helpful advice.

I have been using Tincknells for several years at my previous property where we had an oil fired central heating system. Tincknells did both the oil deliveries and the maintenance of the boiler and on both counts were always excellent. Consequently, on moving to a house with gas we had them replace an old boiler with a new gas system boiler and install an unvented hot water tank. On both counts they were excellent completing the work on time and always leaving everything nice and clean. Highly recommended!

Engineer called in when an oil leak was noticed in the boiler. This work is covered by our service plan. The hydraulic ram on the air flap was dripping and was replaced rapidly by the engineer. It was then noticed that there was a slight seepage from the isolation tap, which was also replaced. We have used Tinckell's for over thirty years to maintain our oil boilers. They are always reliable, friendly and courteous. Well cleaned and cleared up after work was completed,

Steve Ingram carried out both services very efficiently as usual. He is unfailingly courteous and helpful and we always prefer him to service our equipment.

The engineering attended diagnosed the fault swiftly (obstruction in the fuel line between the tank and inlet) and revolved the issue. Excellent service from an experienced competent engineer. Very pleased.

I have had a service contract on our oil boiler for a few years. The team are always accommodating to my busy diary and have been flexible when disruptions such as Covid has occurred. I have recommended Tincknell a number of times to other Oil CH owners. Their engineers are particularly accommodating, and efficient. Great, professional service.

Tincknell Heating were wonderful. They fitted our new gas fire and surround. Right from the start they were professional and helpful in advising as to what suitable gas fires/surrounds etc. would work for us and once we had picked our preference, and a price for the whole job was established, all was ordered and a date was fixed for installation. The day arrived and all went well. Great care was taken throughout the job and once the fire and surround were insitu, a tidy up was undertaken. We really can’t speak highly enough of the whole experience.

They were on time, and completed the job in a thoroughly professional way and took time out to set up/demonstrate the new Nest thermostat system. The team were really helpful from start to finish. From quotation to completion, this work has been handled very swiftly and efficiently. The engineers who carried out the work explained how they would undertake the removal of the old boiler, the need to re-site the replacement and the effect on our hot water and heating provision. All the work was completed well within the original time estimate and without any mess. We are very pleased with our new boiler.

The initial phone contact with the firm (Nick Turner) was very helpful and informative and helped me make a decision on the boiler model. I was given a realistic estimate of the time schedule which was totally adhered to. The engineer who came to assess the work was again, very informative and happy to answer questions. The two you men who turned up to do the actual work were polite, considerate and very efficient. All personnel turned on on time. An unexpected hitch was the access to the outgoing flue, promptly resolved by someone from head office bringing a longer ladder!
