A very disappointing experience.

My experience with Tivoli has left me disappointed and frustrated, I was charged £203.75 for an “extended road test with live data”that shows no evidence of carried out. The facts are that after collecting the vehicle and paying the invoice. I reviewed the automatic vehicle front and rear cameras to see where the vehicle had been, there is footage of the days before dropping the vehicle off, it clearly shows the dropping off of at the garage ,it the shows some to and fro on the garage premises and then the collection and return to my home. The onboard gps tracker shows the same there is no evidence of an extended drive, the keys also have a tracker and these too show no evidence of the vehicle moving anywhere except from my house to the garage and then the return. I even have photographs of the fuel gauge and mileage before and after the work was carried out. Neither have substantially changed. Some work was carried out, a sensor was replaced and the warning lights on the dashboard have been reset. However the situation with the “road test” has left me disappointed and unable to write a positive review I have emailed Tivoli twice via their website to ask for clarification as to how the road test was completed before leaving this review but I have been left with no response in any way. I should have read the other reviews before going to this garage

My car went to Tivoli twice following major power loss. Each time I was told "problem resolved". The problem? the car was in 'limp mode' Acceleration zero to 60 had increased from 8 seconds to 16. My Diagnostic Reader showed turbo underboost and manifold pressure of just one atmosphere. This usually means air leakage, sensor failure, or a turbo failure, all suggestions I made to Tivoli at the outset. At collection a DPF pressure sensor had been changed. I was charged £137 for the sensor when a Bosch equivalent was available on eBay for £48. I drove the car home and it was obvious once outside speed limits the car performance was unchanged. I returned the car and spoke to Tivoli's owner. Diagnostic work was done and a rubber hose replaced. The owner assured me that the car now performed within Volvo parameters. Outside speed limits, once again, no improvement in power or turbo action. I then took the car to a Turbo specialist who confirmed my thoughts, sending me WhatsApp pictures, live, as the car was examined. They showed a repairable Turbo with a bent fan blade that jammed the fan action, and fairly extensive exhaust blockage. I took the photos to Tivoli's owner saying that as I had spent £800 without effective diagnosis or repair, then I felt I was owed a fairly substantial refund. I asked, why return the car to me? Surely it would have failed on a short road test. His response? THEY DID NOT DO ONE !!! I was offered £126. No thank you. VERY POOR SERVICE

We would like to thank our customer for their feedback and to reassure them that this matter is currently being dealt with through our quality control process with the assistance of the team at Which Trusted Traders. We would like to say thank you for the comments which we take on board. Whilst we also accept that it is not possible to please everyone all of the time, in my experience there are usually a couple of simple reasons behind a customers dissatisfaction, which fall into two key areas: 1. Communication of the fault diagnosis and steps towards the fix 2. Interpretation of the fault and following the correct steps towards a positive result This customer is a new customer to Tivoli as of March/April this year, and it is obvious that he has some knowledge of how a car works and has informed us that he would normally carry out his own repairs,(and also owns his own basic fault code reader). The first step of any diagnosis on a modern vehicle is to plug into the diagnostic system. We are fortunate to own a Volvo vida system which offers us the main dealer capability for diagnosis. The vehicle on its initial visit had only one fault code present (dpf pressure fault). Common practice for this fault would be to replace the dpf sensor with new which we agreed to have done. The car was taken on a short road test and the code did not return. It was agreed that the car would be tested by the customer for a few days. After a week or so it was reported to us that the car was still not any better (in a note from the customer - it was reported that the cars power had improved slightly following the replacement sensor). We had the car back into the workshop and carried out further tests, one of which was a smoke test which helps identify a potential air leak. We found that a Turbo boost hose was leaking, which we reported to our customer who agreed to a replacement. Car had a short road test and again appeared to drive normally No other faults were found in the system so the customer was to try the vehicle once more. We believe that further time on the vehicle would have identified the Turbo and dpf issues but unfortunately this additional time was not authorised by the customer. As a result the customer has chosen to take his vehicle to another repairer where by carrying out more extensive diagnosis, disconnecting and removing components was able to identify the worn turbo and dpf which have now been replaced. The initial diagnosis carried out by Tivoli was correct and the parts replaced were necessary to overcome this stage. We are strong believers of fitting genuine top quality parts wherever is possible (we would only consider fitting parts from an Ebay source as a last resort). We have communicated with the customer and made a goodwill offer which he has declined. Our experience tells us that that in situations like this there is always a compromise to be made. We sympathise with the customers' frustration relating to this matter. We feel that a complete refund would be unacceptable to Tivoli however we would like to reach a fair and reasonable compromise for all parties.
One hundred percent satisfaction.

First service on my Golf so needed to keep the warranty intact but didn't want main dealer distance (twenty five miles) or prices. Tivoli provided the perfect answer. Very professional and friendly attitude from everyone, prompt start and work completed as expected, so couldn't be more pleased. Would highly recommend and will be back for (first) MOT next February. Many thanks to Paul and his team.

I called Tivoli and explained a strange electrical problem I was experiencing with my VW Golf and mentioned that I was out of my usual area, not expecting them to be able to help me on a busy Friday. The owner was very understanding and couldn't have been more helpful and kind. It eventually transpired that part of a zip had been stuck in the tailgate, disengaging certain electrical connections. This was obviously from an MoT I'd just had done in the Bristol area. I was so grateful to the professional team at Tivoli for diagnosing the problem for me and fitting me in when they already had their day's work mapped out. If every garage was this pleasant and professional to deal with it would be a wonderful thing! Totally recommend Tivoli to anyone considering using them.

Earlier this month we were in the Hastings area on holiday. On the journey there (whilst towing a caravan), we had problems with our Volkswagen Tiguan. Luckily we found Tivoli Auto Services online and Paul quickly offered us an appointment to diagnose the fault. On meeting Paul it was immediately obvious that we could trust this company to do a good job for us. Having identified the problem the car was booked in for repair two days later when the required part had been sourced. The work was carried out at the agreed time and Paul even offered to fetch us from Alexandra Park where we were spending the time while the car was fixed!! Overall the service we received was outstanding. We feel so lucky to have found this company and we would highly recommend them.

Volvo V90 low mileage interim service

Due to the Covid pandemic my contract hire Volvo V90 has covered so little mileage, but none the less expecting to pay for a full service. I was so impressed with their honesty in telling me that only an interim service was needed and was perfectly acceptable to Volvo’s servicing schedule, something I was not aware of, but my wallet jumped for joy with the news! We are taking back my wife’s 2014 BMW X3 to be serviced there, saving time and money as they are much nearer too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tivoli Motors!

Our garage of choice.
We’ve used Tivoli for the last 5 years. Always honest, trustworthy, meticulous, prompt. They Explain any questions on the work. They do our MOTs at the same time as the servicing. We’ve had them service our old E class. Our B class, our C class and our XC90. We have never had any problems. They’re brilliant.

I phoned Tivoli on Monday 1st Feb with a desperate need for an MOT ASAP! The only person I dealt with throughout my entire experience was Ian. He could not have been more helpful or friendly. Ian collected my car at 08:30 on 2nd Feb, phoned to confirm the work had been completed and returned it by 10:15! I accept I was fortunate that they managed to squeeze me in, nonetheless the service, communication and friendliness were exceptional. I even benefited from a 'new customer' discount of 10% off the labour. We will happily use this company for all future servicing and MOT work and would be delighted to recommend them with confidence. Excellent service.

The Curse of the Peugeot Braking System...
Customer Service

Value
First of all, the TRW ABS system on the Peugeot 407 is notorious or so I read on the WWW. I apologise for sicking them with the thing but it was a no-brake situation. I sincerely apologised by settling my bill of £982.48 for cash-on-the-nail. It is not possible to bleed the air out of the system by normal means. Tivoli have left me with a very long-travel foot brake that i do not think would pass an MOT but they did find one or two interesting things: my brake fluid should be changed at two year intervals and i paid a main agent to do this. The offside front bleed-nipple could not be moved and was spanner-rounded and must have been for the eight years i have had the vehicle. the nearside rear brake hose was in a parlous state and could not pass fluid. I have been whinging at that Peugeot main-agent for some years about brakes. It did not seem to be heard. Tivoli have given full and frank answers but have not been able to make the braking system work to my liking. Strange though, the car has a lot more "get up and go" now. Perhaps those brakes had been rubbing and wasting energy? So, i had all four hoses done plus the master cylinder that seemed to have failed (the brakes had to be pumped): stopping was problematic. Now we can stop but the pedal goes near to the floor, worse than when it was in a good mood (mostly mornings). In a "bad mood" the effect was quite laxative. Tivoli are OK: Peugeot 407? difficult.
