I was thankfully recommended to Total Gas as I needed a new boiler and radiators. James came around to look at my old system, gave me no pressure various options, then provided me with a quote for my new system. His very professional and efficient team came around, installed my new system quickly and cleanly and once finished you wouldn’t think they had ever been in they were that good. James arrived to sign off the work and I then received my gas certificate. I have also taken out a monthly payment to cover servicing etc which gives me peace of mind for the future. I can highly recommend this company and will recommend them again and again.

Booked for annual boiler service. Arrived on time, very polite and professional. Had an issue with existing central heating controller, sorted out the issue and assisted in setting times and temperature (I had been setting it incorrectly). Very grateful for the advice and help received. Boiler 8 year warranty ceases soon so I have taken out their boiler cover for peace of mind and it includes annual boiler service. Thank you James.

The job was for conversion from old system boiler with hot water cylinder and header tank to a combi boiler. I obtained several quotations for the work and had several queries with each of them. My initial enquiry was dealt with very efficiently by the office and James from Total Gas Safety impressed me right from the initial survey to answering my queries and through to completion of the work. The price was competitive (but not the cheapest) and the job was done to a high standard. James and Adam took care in their work and cleaned up properly after themselves. I will continue to use Total Gas Safety for servicing and maintenance.

After being let down by another fitter James from TGS could not have been more helpful and accommodating in getting my new appliance up and running. Even after discovering there was a missing part, he went over and above what was required in order to ensure my cooker was working as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. I have a service and maintenance contract with TGS. Today I had a problem with a gas fire and a radiator. An appointment was made without fuss and at my convenience. I have used the company previously in the past and been happy with their work. This afternoon I discovered my boiler was leaking and rang. Although the office was closed there was an option to divert to an engineer. The phone was answered, the problem explained and an assurance was given that he would attend later the same day. I received a text to let me know when he was on his way. He arrived within the hour. The fault was identified and able to be repaired during the same visit. The heating and hot water functions were tested to ensure they worked. The repair was complete in under an hour. The cost was £72. I was very satisfied with the response from start to finish and happy with the cost of the work carried out. Thank you TGS Ltd.

An annoying problem quickly solved

The door on my elderly cooker had a broken catch and I had an unpleasant gas odour from the top oven. James arranged a visit and came promptly after my email. He quoted for a new catch -which he ordered at once- and offered to clean the top oven burners. He returned 10 days later with the part and attempted to clean the burners though this proved impossible. He then lowered the quote to reflect this. The reason I would award 5 stars is he then stayed long enough to discover that the smell from the top oven went away once it had reached temperature. (I had always turned it off before that, fearing it wasn't safe) He established that the oven and grill were both safe before he left which was very reassuring. I would definitely recommend him.

I was recommended Total Gas Safety by a family member after having issues with our boiler leaking. James came to view the issue and made a diagnosis immediately, he told us what the estimated price would be and also advised there may be another issue which we had previously been aware of but this had been discussed with British gas who did not recommend any repairs. Basically he gave us the price it could be and a worst case scenario price. He contacted me the following day and booked the repairs in really quickly. Adam who carried out the repairs was friendly, professional and explained everything he had done and left ensuring everywhere was clean and tidy. We have now signed up to the service contract which is extremely good value especially in comparison to other companies. Would definitely recommend this company!

I have the annual maintenance contract for my 15yr old boiler and fire. The payments have always been more than affordable and I never even noticed it. The annual maintenance was completed without fuss and again, didn’t think about it. Until….when I did have a problem. Fantastic. Immediate service, called out the same day. James was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and knew his business. Worth every penny of the maintenance contract and I couldn’t recommend this company highly enough. We approached this firm because he is local. We requested servicing of our central boiler and 3 gas fires. We were satisfied with the quote we received and an agreed date of the 12th March between the hours of 9am & 12pm. He arrived at approx. 10 20hrs. I was not at home when he arrived but I came in just after and he was already at work on the first fire. I popped my head around the door to say good morning and I was amazed at how smart and clean his working method was, everything laid out on his work mat and when one fire was finished he moved onto the next. He hoovered up and made sure everywhere was as he had found it. His attention to detail amazed me. Overall he was very professional and a pleasure to have in our home.

My boiler had completely stopped working 2 weeks before Christmas, and I was desperately trying to find a local plumbing engineer to come out and remedy the problem. The boiler manufacturers recommended that I try Total Gas Safety in Southport, and I'm delighted to say that James turned up a few days later, as arranged. He managed to diagnose and fix the problem, replace some faulty parts, and even gave the boiler a service. He also explained things in detail, when I asked. I was so grateful - he basically saved my family's Christmas from being a cold and miserable time. I would certainly use them again, and have no hesitation in recommending the company to others.

The service engineer arrived within the time-frame agreed and was able to resolve the problem with the pilot ignition of my gas fire. He also serviced it. I was impressed by the professionalism, helpfulness and advice offered. Great value for money considering this wasn't entirely straightforward.
