This company delivers a very high standard of customer service. I contacted them with an issue with my gas fire and received a firm time and date for a visit. The engineer that arrived were very professional and kept me informed at all times. He quickly determined the fault and during the work documented everything The work area was kept tidy at all times and any dust,soot etc was quickly cleaned away. All work was checked using test equipment and recorded. The problem was resolved and the fire now works as it did from new. I am always very impressed with Total Gas Safety and would recommend them to all without hesitation as they were totally professional from start to finish. Kind regards, John Anderson.

James was able to come at short notice (within a couple of hours) to investigate boiler fault messages, and recommended the most cost-effective solution, fitting a new control board the same day and returning a few days later to check it had solved the problem, service the boiler and replace missing knobs. He explained the costs before doing anything, and the pros and cons of different options. He also looked at other aspects of the central heating system with a view to future work when the boiler eventually reaches the end of its life. James was friendly and thorough and incredibly neat and tidy - in fact the boiler was probably the cleanest thing in the house when he left. A strong recommendation from me.

Contacted James on Thursday for a quote, he brought the boiler round on Friday. Adam fitted the boiler on Saturday and James came back to install the Google nest control. He helped us install the app on our phone, couldn't ask for a better service! He cleaned up after himself and got rid of all the older stuff. It was challenging to fit the boiler but they got it done, fantastic service!!

James & Joanne called today to look at a fire which was giving off a horrible smell and affected our eyes. We recently moved in and thought it was just dust. When I first contacted James he told me not to use it. Just as well as it's been condemned. James explained why the fire was condemned and he and Joanne were very quick and clean in the process of cutting off the supply. They have suggested things I can do to make use of the fire which wouldn't include gas. I then asked a further question in relation to my central heating. They looked at the system and were honest telling me that they'd never seen anything like it before. It wasn't hive or nest or other makes they were familiar with. James suggested I get in touch with the previous owner as it was all automated and we needed to understand how it was set up. He told me he could spend hours just looking at the system before doing anything with it. James thank you for your honesty.

I was thankfully recommended to Total Gas as I needed a new boiler and radiators. James came around to look at my old system, gave me no pressure various options, then provided me with a quote for my new system. His very professional and efficient team came around, installed my new system quickly and cleanly and once finished you wouldn’t think they had ever been in they were that good. James arrived to sign off the work and I then received my gas certificate. I have also taken out a monthly payment to cover servicing etc which gives me peace of mind for the future. I can highly recommend this company and will recommend them again and again.

The job was for conversion from old system boiler with hot water cylinder and header tank to a combi boiler. I obtained several quotations for the work and had several queries with each of them. My initial enquiry was dealt with very efficiently by the office and James from Total Gas Safety impressed me right from the initial survey to answering my queries and through to completion of the work. The price was competitive (but not the cheapest) and the job was done to a high standard. James and Adam took care in their work and cleaned up properly after themselves. I will continue to use Total Gas Safety for servicing and maintenance.

I have used the company previously in the past and been happy with their work. This afternoon I discovered my boiler was leaking and rang. Although the office was closed there was an option to divert to an engineer. The phone was answered, the problem explained and an assurance was given that he would attend later the same day. I received a text to let me know when he was on his way. He arrived within the hour. The fault was identified and able to be repaired during the same visit. The heating and hot water functions were tested to ensure they worked. The repair was complete in under an hour. The cost was £72. I was very satisfied with the response from start to finish and happy with the cost of the work carried out. Thank you TGS Ltd.

The door on my elderly cooker had a broken catch and I had an unpleasant gas odour from the top oven. James arranged a visit and came promptly after my email. He quoted for a new catch -which he ordered at once- and offered to clean the top oven burners. He returned 10 days later with the part and attempted to clean the burners though this proved impossible. He then lowered the quote to reflect this. The reason I would award 5 stars is he then stayed long enough to discover that the smell from the top oven went away once it had reached temperature. (I had always turned it off before that, fearing it wasn't safe) He established that the oven and grill were both safe before he left which was very reassuring. I would definitely recommend him.

I was recommended Total Gas Safety by a family member after having issues with our boiler leaking. James came to view the issue and made a diagnosis immediately, he told us what the estimated price would be and also advised there may be another issue which we had previously been aware of but this had been discussed with British gas who did not recommend any repairs. Basically he gave us the price it could be and a worst case scenario price. He contacted me the following day and booked the repairs in really quickly. Adam who carried out the repairs was friendly, professional and explained everything he had done and left ensuring everywhere was clean and tidy. We have now signed up to the service contract which is extremely good value especially in comparison to other companies. Would definitely recommend this company!

I have the annual maintenance contract for my 15yr old boiler and fire. The payments have always been more than affordable and I never even noticed it. We approached this firm because he is local. We requested servicing of our central boiler and 3 gas fires. We were satisfied with the quote we received and an agreed date of the 12th March between the hours of 9am & 12pm. He arrived at approx. 10 20hrs. I was not at home when he arrived but I came in just after and he was already at work on the first fire. I popped my head around the door to say good morning and I was amazed at how smart and clean his working method was, everything laid out on his work mat and when one fire was finished he moved onto the next. He hoovered up and made sure everywhere was as he had found it. His attention to detail amazed me. Overall he was very professional and a pleasure to have in our home.

My boiler had completely stopped working 2 weeks before Christmas, and I was desperately trying to find a local plumbing engineer to come out and remedy the problem. The boiler manufacturers recommended that I try Total Gas Safety in Southport, and I'm delighted to say that James turned up a few days later, as arranged. He managed to diagnose and fix the problem, replace some faulty parts, and even gave the boiler a service. He also explained things in detail, when I asked. I was so grateful - he basically saved my family's Christmas from being a cold and miserable time. I would certainly use them again, and have no hesitation in recommending the company to others.

I have a maintenance contract with TGS and, following a heating system failure, I called them for support at 09.15. James was on-site at 16.30 and immediately identified the problem. It was an extremely awkward repair to make but James was determined to resolve the problem that day so that we had a fully operational hot water and heating system. This involved having to go and get parts late in the day on a Friday and returning to complete the job. All Labour and parts were covered by the contract which is excellent value for money. Reported Combi Boiler water pressure fault at 10.00 and engineer was on-site at 13.00 with problem resolved at 13.30, at no extra cost. Clean, efficient and friendly. I am on an annual contract with TGS which is excellent value for this level of service and support. I was recognised when I called to set up the service which is a nice touch. And when James arrived he raised a topic about a minor problem which had arisen when the boiler was installed. I got a text message to warn me of his arrival which was useful as he was running a bit later due to demand. The service was quick and efficient. James took care to keep the place clean and tidy, just like the contents of his tool box (always a good sign). Apart from a glitch in the mobile phone connection when trying to pay the bill, he was quickly finished. I will get him back next year!

Total Gas replaced or old boiler with a modern condensing unit. They gave us a fixed price quote and despite finding a few historical issues which they needed to fix there was no suggestion of them charging more. The fitters were very careful to make sure no dirt or damage was left from their work. They were also very friendly and polite. The work was completed in the time they had estimated and we were given a thorough walk through of how the new boiler and thermostat worked. In summary, I wish all companies were this good to work with. We have used Total Gas for a number of years and have no intention of moving our custom anywhere else.

Our boiler broke down early on Sunday morning, or ringing Total Gas the engineer responded within 2 hours. The fault was identified and he arranged for replacement part to be fitted and delivered on Tuesday and give costing. The work was completed as scheduled and to budget. The engineer was very competent and friendly.
