About
My name is John Buck and I’m the business owner of Uniglaze Windows Ltd.
As a former joiner I began installing upvc windows and doors, going on to start the business in 1986. We’ve always been an Ilkeston based company and I’m very proud of the fact that as of 2016 we’re enjoying our 30th year of trading.
My son Tom joined the business in 2002. This year I have taken on Zak, who also shares our commitment to producing quality work. Between the three of us, we fit all our own work and by doing so can guarantee a quality job every time. Unlike many other companies, I do not pay so much for fitting a window, door etc, so there is no incentive to rush jobs. We all recognise the fact that happy customers will tell others and so will unhappy ones!
Drawing on over 3 decades of industry experience, I approach clients in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner. I will never out stay my welcome. My visit to your home is typically carried out within about half an hour.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Uniglaze. John, the owner of the company in all my communications with him was courteous, knowledgeable and none pushy. I had obtained other quotes within the locality and this one was very competitive. All queries were answered promptly and the work carried out when agreed. Similarly, the two fitters were polite and carried out the installation with the minimum of fuss and mess. I am absolutely delighted with both the windows and doors. There was no need for any decoration afterwards. Just to mention that there is a 10 year guarantee.

On deciding to have Uniglaze to replace all our windows & a back door; in relation to the Excellent Quote, it was the best ever decision we made. From the start, the two guy's who did the work arrived on time on both days and were so professional; very polite, so helpful to our needs, always cleaning up as they went along. The workmanship was excellent in installing all the windows & door; it went so smoothly and we felt so comfortable while they were here. I can totally understand how this very good company has been trading since 1986 I would have no hesitation in using Uniglaze again for anything. We have had complete honesty from John as to what he could do for us to get what we actually wanted and the timescale to be taken. We decided to go with the company and we were given a price that we considered very reasonable. We had a little wait but we were prepared for that. On the day of the fitting the guys arrived and got to work immediately. They were friendly but also very professional. The job was completed to our satisfaction and they cleaned up after themselves and left the premises very clean and tidy. We were really pleased with the outcome and would have hesitation in using this company again or recommending them to friends and family.

We had the pleasure of dealing with Uniglaze in replacement of all doors & windows to our bungalow. The French Doors and our main door were fitted as phase one in February, and the remaining windows were fitted and completed today. In both cases the price and quality have been extremely competitive, communication has been first class and fitting carried out on time to a very high standard. The 2 x fitters are very experienced, thorough in every detail, and such helpful & cooperative guys - a pleasure to have in our home -what a great team!! Would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Uniglaze to others as an excellent company with the highest standards. What a great job - the transformation to our property is amazing.

This is the first time I have used Uniglaze and I would definitely use them again. John, who came to measure up was so helpful but didn't push like a lot of salesmen. Whenever he said he would phone or visit he did and was always reliable and on time. The two workmen who did the installation were really good and friendly. They have made a lovely job of it and were clean and tidy. Everyone, including us, love the door and window.
