My wife and I have used Up to Scratch for many years. James is always prompt, courteous and very good at what he does. I had a really bad dent and scratches along my car's rear offside wing, following my careless encounter with a metal post ! James worked his magic on dent and scratch removal, followed by a spray of paint...... And it now looks as good as new and no one would know it was ever damaged ! Contacted James at Up to Scratch to quote for scratch repair on 04/01/23. Received an instant response requesting detailed photos of the areas affected. Within 15 minutes had a quotation that was accepted and agreed. Due to a cancellation James was able to fit me in the following day. Due to precise detailed preparation and James’ skill and expertise, the results are immaculate. You would never know that there had been any scratches in the areas addressed. James also spotted a couple of areas that he had missed in the photos and took care of those at no extra cost. Great service. I would not hesitate to use James’ service again and would strongly recommend up to Scratch.

Having had previous experience of James' excellent work on my car two years ago I had no hesitation in calling him to work his magic on some scratches and a broken wing mirror resulting from a too rapid reversal out of my garage. Although this was a fairly small job compared with previously it was carried out with the same expertise and thoroughness as before. James obviously takes a great pride in his work and is happy to explain the procedures involved to someone not mechanically minded.

James came round my house to inspect some scratches on my car, including a deep scratch from a key. He gave me a very reasonable quote to repair the scratches through buffering alone. The buffering completely repaired a scratch on my bumper, but the key scratch was still visible which was expected. James provided another very reasonable quote to spray paint the scratch, which did the job. Thank you to James for repairing the scratches on my car, and for providing an excellent service. I'd definitely recommend him :)

Up to Scratch came to look at my car the very next day and fixed it on the spot, I was told the scratch was'nt as bad as it looked and buffed away leaving a small scratch which the paint was mixed on the spot and scratch repaired. This bloke not only fixed my car after only having it for 7 day and being hit and driver drove off but he also saved me a lot of money and beat everyone else's quotes. Will always use and recommend Up to scratch from now on, his customer service is second to none and he also left me with a pot of paint too.

Would definitely recommend James for any surface repair. This is the second time myself and family have asked James to repair damage to the cars and on both times he has done an excellent job, you can’t even tell there was damage. He has great communication, always gets back to you ASAP and lets you know if there’s any problems. He was prompt and arrived when he said he would. He’s a very polite and friendly gentleman. His pricing is great, and what he quotes is what it cost. Top marks all round would really recommend.

My Toyota Yaris is by no means new, but I was quite distressed when it received deep scratches on the rear door and also a small dent. Although James admitted it would be a difficult job the result is absolutely amazing. The bodywork was restored as new and no sign of the dent. The price was also very reasonable. James obviously takes great pride in his work and is only satisfied with perfection. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

What an amazing Job completed today by James of Up to Scratch. The bonnet which had scratches from a car wash looks as good as new. The handle on my rear window hatch is completely gone and the new paint job looks great. The solution to the deep scratch on my rear bumper has worked a treat too. And just as important the cost of all of this work was extremely reasonable. Very pleased with all of this work I can highly recommend James to anyone needing some scratch repairs done on their car.

What a brilliant job James did came to do a bumper and ended up doing my sons alloy as well which looks like its new. James was given photos by myself of a few indents, deep scratches, cracks in my paintwork and light washer jet on my bumper. He said yes I can sort that for you matey. Not knowing what to expect, I left my car with him for 4 hours while I went to work. Feeling a bit anxious all day not knowing what to expect as my bumper was in a mess, I was delighted when I got back later that day and seen what he has done. There is only 1 word that can describe what I seen... Perfection! Bumper looks like new.... no cracks... no indents and paint work is perfect. I had 3 alloy wheels repaired on a 10 month old BMW M2. Was told my another company they couldn’t repair them due to the type of alloy wheel (Diamond Cut). Up to scratch however had no problem at all with this type of wheel and they look as good as new now. Great workmanship and very punctual, friendly and professional.

James from Up To Scratch, went above and beyond when working on my car, the rear of my car was dented and scratched quite badly. He only came to repair the scratches on my car and another car that I had work on. I came out to find, not only was he repairing the scratches, but trying to get the dent out of my car too (which he did a great job)! I was very happy with the service received, he is a genuinely nice person. He spent most of his Saturday on my drive in the freezing cold and did an exceptional job. I will be contacting him in the near future to get a few more scratches repaired!

Rear bumper split repaired and bumper sprayed due damage from a low speed shunt. When I called James he answered immediately and was very polite and courteous, he explained what he did and how the repair would be completed. He supplied a quote within hours and booked me in to complete the repair at my home for convenience. James was punctual and explained how he was going to repair the bumper. The work took several hours and was completed to a very high standard, I could not see where he had completed the repair and assumed he had painted the entire bumper not just the damaged area. I cannot recommend him enough... Up to Scratch was professional, honest and completed the repair to a very high standard.
