We contacted the firm a year after initially getting a quote from them, and were pleased to discover that the quote still stood. The workers arrived promptly, worked nonstop for just over six hours, and left the house looking spotless even though massive quantities of leaf and branch had moved through it. They were friendly throughout. We would not hesitate to recommend them if you need and tree work done.

A large conifer tree in our garden needed to be cut down as its roots were causing disturbance in the next-door garden. it was not a straightforward task as the tree trunk was adjacent to the fence. Liaison with Wassells, obtaining an estimate and agreement over the date went smoothly. Unfortunately on the date due for the task, there was a problem with the team's vehicle. No problem - communication was excellent and another date arranged. The team of two were excellent, helpful and totally professional, especially in leveling the stump down to ground level - no easy task because of the nearby fence. The task was carried out in just over the hour and the area was cleaned up and left as they had found it - minus the tree!! I would recommend Wassells to anyone who has a small or large task.

Wassells removed a tree that had outgrown its small plot and was overhanging an old wall. They removed it very professionally causing no damage. Everything from the tree had to be taken through a terraced house. They were extremely careful and organised to make sure that no debris was dropped and that the floor was protected. All the people were very pleasant to deal with. We were very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I asked Wassells for a quote a while ago about a dead tree, but due to family circumstances I didn't follow up. They proactively got in touch and did the work which turned out to be important. They sorted out the parking and kept me informed throughout the process of tree felling.

The tree fellers did a superb job. Obtained council permission very swiftly, and then carried out the job of felling a cherry tree expertly and neatly. I had previously used them on an even bigger cherry tree, with the same level of service. Excellent work.

The access to the garden is quite challenging, as they had to come through the flat and down the steps into the garden. They were great - took care bringing the wood through the flat, leaving the flat as they found it. They were very approachable and happy to talk about the work, explain what they were doing on the trees to be cut back. This is the second time Wassells have been out, and I will be going back to them next time I need any tree work.

The job was completed rapidly and carefully, thoroughly and respectful of the tree's future well being. The garden was left clear and almost stick free - much to my dogs' annoyance!

A large sycamore tree blew down in a storm about a month ago. Wessells was recommended to me by my daughter who used them recently to remove a dying apple tree. I contacted Andrew Wassell and he requested pictures of the tree (plus another that I wished to cut down by a third). Andrew provided an estimate based on my rather inaccurate measurements and advised that he could not undertake the work until the beginning of December. This I accepted. Nearly two weeks early Andrew phoned to say he had a slot on 21 November. This I accepted. The team were with us around 8.20am. 4 men - very polite, friendly and efficient. They removed the tree and all the debris, cleaned up and took all the fallen leaves, branches and dead wood that had come off the tree and left the garden area as tidy as it could be in the circumstances. All this in around 5 hours. They advised me that they had spoken with Andrew and I would not be charged as much as the estimate. I needed to chase Andrew for the bill and when it came it was indeed less than that quoted. This really was the 'icing on the cake'. They are a super bunch of guys to have working in your garden and I would recommend them unreservedly. I will certainly use them again without hesitation.

It was the first time I had used Wassells for the cutting of a 230 year plus 20m Oak Tree The team arrived promptly around 7.45am and finished around 6pm. We have had our oak tree pollarded by Andrew and his team three times now and they never disappoint. They came to the site early and were ready to go at eight am as they promised. They protected our flooring as they had to go through the house to get to the garden and cleared up any mess afterwards. The tree was given a blade one cut, keeping the crown in check. They said they would be finished within four hours and were true to their word even bringing in two other team members to ensure they were done by midday. We are very happy with the service we have received and would happily recommend the Wassells to anyone that needs a professional service.

A wisteria was out of control, climbing up a drainpipe to the roof. Communication with Richard beforehand was straightforward; he was helpful and explained clearly how to get the job done. Having rejected a very high and dodgy quote for work on the Himalayan birch in my back garden by a company who had left a business card through my letterbox, I was fortunate to be recommended Wassells by a friend. I was very reassured by the professionalism of the tree surgeon who attended to assess the work and give me an estimate. I was also really pleased that the company was prepared to reduce the crown because the last well-established arboricultural company to work on the tree had refused to deal with the crown. The work was undertaken a fortnight ago by an extremely efficient tree surgeon with every safety consideration assisted by a pleasant team who cleared away all the debris and dealt most politely with a difficult neighbour.

Wassells provided a really excellent service-they were quick to come round and provide a quote for two large trees that needed some major pruning, booked a time within a week and the two guys who came on the day were super helpful, very professional, had clear instructions from the quote about trying to maintain as much privacy when cutting back, discussed our requirements, showed good knowledge of the trees and the fact that the magnolia might be sensitive to extreme pruning, started work on time and communicated all the way through to make sure that they didn't take too much off and tidied up inside and outside at the end. A really good experience and good value.

Richard from Wassells provided an exceptionally helpful and professional service to remove a large number of trees from the back gardens of two of our clients properties. They had Tree Protection Orders (TPO's) against them but the roots were potentially causing damage to a neighbouring property and so Richard was able to help by making a planning application to the council on our clients behalf that was necessary to have them removed and then followed through with chopping them down two months later. Wassells took on all the admin associated with a TPO and trimmed and crown-lifted a vast bay. They were efficient, helpful, tidy, and careful. My garden was left completely intact despite the branches raining down. I would recommend without hesitation.

Wassells were recommended by relatives and estimated for the work two or three months ago. They had to apply to Camden for permission to thin and reduce a very large ash tree in our small back garden. We have no side access so all the wood needed to be carried through the house. The team who completed the work were efficient careful and considerate. The tree looks so much better and there was no damage to our garden. They tidied up well. I would highly recommend them. Not the cheapest but very professional and they know how to prune trees.

Two young men came to trim the large elderberry tree, remove a dead conifer and remove another elderberry tree. They came on time, spreadsheets in the house, so they wouldn't get the carpet dirty, did the job in about 2 hours, cleaned up all the branches and leaves, and were cheerful in the process. That's the way to do it. The big tree was properly shaped and looks really good now. I'm very happy with this service.

Removed a stump in a front garden and moved some slabs to get to roots. Very quick to respond to emails. So quick that they in fact turned up before I’d 100% confirmed the time (they fitted my job in after a cancellation). Helpful guys doing the job. Clear and worked hard. Would recommend!

I would highly recommend Wassel's - they were quick to do the assessment, and appreciated the completely overgrown garden. The work was quite a challenge as all the wood has to come up the stairs from the garden and out through the flat. They were prompt, professional and pleasant, cut the trees cut back and removed all the waste without causing any damage. I will definitely use them next time I need any tree work.

Wassell’s removed large spikey palm tree from back garden in cold rainy conditions. They assessed the work involved at outset, laid waterproof sheeting through stairways to front door and carefully removed the tree branches and trunk in sections. They worked well as a team, kept us informed about progress throughout. They swept up at the end. The estimate given was the price we paid for the job- can’t rate them highly enough, courteous fair and very reliable .

A team of 3 men arrived promptly on site at our school allotment plot at Highgate Allotments. The work was to carry out hard pruning of 4 very old Apple trees. One person did the climbing and cutting, and lowered the branches to his team mates below, who carried them carefully down the path, taking special care not to knock into the greenhouse along the way, and then down to the chipping machine which munched happily through all that was fed into it. There was a lot of wood! They did this on each of the trees and were tidy and efficient in their work manner, cleaning up as they went along and also at the end. We asked if the wood chips could be taken to the school playground on the adjacent street to be used as a mulch. The team were happy to oblige and were careful and considerate of staff and children that were in the playground at the time. They waited patiently until it was safe to manoeuvre the vehicle. I have no hesitation in recommending Wassells for tree work. I have also used their services for tree work in domestic gardens in the past. They take pride in their work and the pricing is fair and competitive.

Wassells pollarded a huge Ash tree for us in our back garden. All if it had to come through the house and it was the first wet day we had had in months. They kept the place clean and did a great job. highly recommended.

Once again, Wassells' friendly and efficient operatives carried out pruning of some very tall trees within a restricted space in our rear garden on time, on budget and in a very professional manner - despite heavy rain and high winds.

Wassells did an excellent job removing a large (40' plus) cypress tree from our back garden. What was a dark area where nothing grew has now been transformed and we can see the sky! 3 men turned up on the date and time when they said they would and set to work straightaway. One guy got up the tree to do the trimming and the others cleared up and fed the grinder parked out front. As the branches fell they were guided so they didn't drop onto the garden - or next door's garden! All the debris was hoovered up at the end. You wouldn't know they'd been it was so tidy. We opted to keep some of the sawn trunk - all around 1 metre diameter. These make a lovely decorative feature in our front and rear gardens. Wassells did a first rate job for a reasonable price and we have no hesitation in recommending them.
