Preparation of the areas and room: cover the flooring with cotton dust sheets and polythene sheeting placed over any items remaining in the room. Remove skirting boards and damp plaster: remove skirting boards, and gently chip off the damp defective plaster to approx 1.1 meters. Dispose and remove of all waste. Prepare surfaces: as per our specification and manufacturers guidelines, prepare all surfaces and prime them ready for damp proofing membranes. DAMP PROOFING Drill and Inject: carefully drill and inject a chemical DPC to the Internal wall. Supply and Install: as per our specification and manufacturers guidelines, Newton 805 mesh cavity damp proofing membrane to the walls. SPECIALIST RE-PLASTERING Supply and apply: all plastering and any preparatory materials and conduct re-plastering works over 2 stages using a two coat backing render, finished with a thistle gypsum plaster skim applied over the top, leaving a small gap at the base of the walls of 20-25mm RE-INSTATEMENT WORKS Supply & Fit: Re-instate skirting boards, shelving and radiators to original position. This is to be undertaken in strict accordance with our specification so as not to damage and void the damp proofing system.

We had several areas of damp inside our Grade 2 listed cottage. Joe from Wessex visited and was very thorough looking at the causes of the damp and not just a quick fix (unlike other businesses). Wessex provided a very detailed quote. The work they carried out involved removing plaster from several areas of the house, taking it right back to brick and inserting damp proof membrames, then re-plastering. They also re-pointed a couple of external areas using lime. This involved removing existing mortar and replacing it with lime. They were very reliable and friendly and incredibly tidy as the work took place over several days.

We thought we had beetles in some of the beams, Joe came to survey a confirmed death watch beetles and provided a quote. Shortly afterwards his team were onsite , suited and masked up and sprayed, painted the infected areas. They took great care to cover carpets, furniture and were very respectful of our home. Once finished they cleared everything away, vacuumed and left the house looking like they hadn't been here. Joe gave us great advice and has been very helpful throughout the entire time.
