About

West Yorkshire Heating & Plumbing Services Limited was established by David Tiffany in 1997. I have over 30 years of experience ranging from the smallest of repairs to running large sites. Mark and I are both City & Guilds qualified and apprentice-trained and Mark also has substantial experience in the trade.

We are a small, family-run business, whose priority is customer care and professional service. As such recommendations from satisfied customers form a large part of our business . As well as being proud to be endorsed as a Which? Trusted Trader, we are also Members of The Association of Plumbing & Heating Engineers (APHC) and Worcester Accredited Installers.

We are qualified to work with natural gas and LPG. From a leaking tap to a full bathroom refurbishment, a broken down fire to a full gas central heating installation our aim is to provide you with a quality, personal service.

After replacing/re-vamping the central heating and boiler in November, the house bathroom and en-suite have now been completely redone. This involved removing the old airing cupboard and utilising the space created in the bathroom as a shower, both rooms re-tiled, re-configured and new bathroom furniture throughout. The whole process from initial contact, quote and work carried out was done professionally promptly and as arranged. The quality of work has been exemplary and the heating and bathrooms have been transformed. Highly recommended and I would definitely use again.

We asked West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing to service our old boiler. Upon discovering that it was in an unserviceable condition a clear explanation was given as to why this was the case, and options going forward were provided. Within less than a fortnight a fully itemised quote was provided, accepted, and the work installing a replacement new boiler was completed. They are very efficient and highly professional. In our case they took unexpected structural problems in their stride and went the extra mile to get the job finished in time. I would highly recommend.

We had a heating break down which in November time frame is annoying. Mark from WYHPS came over the next day to check and made a detailed assessment of the situation. He put safety first and mentioned there was no real alternative to a replacement, providing lots of technical details. Despite yearly maintenance, the system was in poor condition so I would not recommend BG for those yearly checks. We arrange a replacement for 10 days later. With some chance, it was even pulled in by 2 days. Mark and David arrived early morning and everything was done in a day involving plumbing, electrician and roof work. They upgraded the system by adding the necessary cleaning filters and other features to make the system last longer. The installation worked fine and is running much better than before. The company is a family business and everyone was very professional and friendly.

David, Mark and their team have been fantastic from the moment they quoted through to completing the works. It was a large undertaking that multiple plumbers refused to quote on. WYHP, on the other hand, talked us through all the options and provided a detailed, reasonable quote. Unlike every other plumber we had round their proposal complied with building regs and took into account the latest technologies. Upon commencement of work we were nervous as it’s an older property with a number of period features. This concern was misplaced as WYHP carefully installed a large amount of piping throughout the property without a single bit of damage. They kept us updated throughout, suggesting improvements and ensuring we were involved in every major decision. The end result is a powerful, modern system that heats the house quickly and provides a huge amount of hot water - future proofed so it can power multiple bathrooms simultaneously. After works were complete there were a few very minor issues but David came out almost immediately and fixed all of them. We really can’t recommend them enough - the workmanship is top notch, they took the time to explain each part of the system to us and we felt completely comfortable with them all working in the house. To top it off they’re punctual, hard working and completely transparent with costs so there were no surprises.

Four or five parts needed replacement, so it was an expensive repair, but because he explained everything he did and took me through the fault diagnosis one step at a time, he kept our trust during what turned out to be a lengthy repair.

Installation of new boiler

Mark installed a new worcester combi boiler in my property after it was determined that the current 19 year old one was knackered and beyond useful repair. The quote was provided quickly and was competitive, the work being scheduled for 2 weeks later. Mark and his team did a thorough job of installing - what looked like a simple swap became a difficult job due to the requirement to fit a new gas pipe and difficulties routing this through the ceiling of the cellar. This meant the job ended up taking double the allotted time (1 day became 2 days). The job was still invoiced to quotation despite the extra time taken. They turned up bang on time both mornings and put in 12 hour days to get it done ahead of the weekend. The team cleaned up pretty well considered the disruptive nature of the work (removing a plasterboard ceiling and putting it back up again). I wouldn't hesitate to use Mark, David and his team again for ongoing servicing of the new boiler.
