West Yorkshire Heating & Plumbing Services Limited was established by David Tiffany in 1997. I have over 30 years of experience ranging from the smallest of repairs to running large sites. Mark and I are both City & Guilds qualified and apprentice-trained and Mark also has substantial experience in the trade.

We are a small, family-run business, whose priority is customer care and professional service. As such recommendations from satisfied customers form a large part of our business . As well as being proud to be endorsed as a Which? Trusted Trader, we are also Members of The Association of Plumbing & Heating Engineers (APHC) and Worcester Accredited Installers.

We are qualified to work with natural gas and LPG. From a leaking tap to a full bathroom refurbishment, a broken down fire to a full gas central heating installation our aim is to provide you with a quality, personal service.

We have only used David & Mark since 2008 to do all our plumbing work. We would not consider using anyone else as their work is to the highest standards whilst being fairly priced. They always leave the place neat and tidy after they have finished. We have never needed to make any complaints. On this occassion it was our boiler which needed replacing. They tried to repair the previous one but it was beyond it so a replacement was inevitable. We have every intention to continue to use their services. Thank you David & Mark for looking after us so well over the many years.

Excellent work on a very complicated job

Mark replaced a badly installed and worn out boiler that was less than 10 years old with a new Worcester Bosch boiler. This included replacing the gas pipe from the meter to the boiler which he had identified was undersized and non-compliant There was also a complicated rewiring job necessary as the boiler could not be isolated by a single switch (which also did not meet regulations). The whole job was carried out very professionally and we were kept fully informed at all times. The electricians Mark used were also very good. There were a number of issues that arose along the way but we were kept informed of these and they were all dealt with professionally. The job was completed within the time initially indicated and on budget. The issue with the undersized gas pipe had been spotted by Mark in an annual service, no other gas engineer had spotted this in the 8 years we have been in this property. Mark and his team were very friendly, neat and tidy with all rubbish being removed. We would thoroughly recommend this company.

Annual boiler service. A very thorough service as always and also they checked a radiator that was making a knocking noise. I was given advice on things to watch for when the noise next happened and we also tried to change a setting to see if that would stop the sound. I was also told either way to let them know what the outcome was.

Mark and David arrived promptly and gave me a range of different quotes to replace my ageing and leaking Worcester-Bosch boiler. This included replacing previously undersized piping and several other items that didn't meet current regulations that none of the other quotations I had from other plumbers had spotted. Their work was of high standard and on-time. Both were very friendly and professional. Will definitely use them again for servicing the boiler. Highly recommend.

David and his team removed our full bathroom suite and installed a new shower, bath, sink, toilet and radiator as well as tiling, laying a new floor and installing new lights. The work took longer than expected as they found some issues when removing the old suite, however they provided more than one option to remedy the problem and let us know the additional costs before completing the work. We were relieved that David and his team had the additional skills required to resolve the problems as otherwise we would have got someone else which would have delayed completion. They have completed the work with real quality and attention to detail, we have a wonderful bathroom and we now know everything is sound aand safe for our family. They left the house spotless after each days work and are genuinely nice tradesmen really skilled in what they do. I've already booked them in to service our boiler. In all very glad we chose them.

The service we received from West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing Ltd., plus from the electricians sub-contracted by the company was highly satisfactory. The work was completed on the day arranged. The men were friendly, helpful and gave every evidence of knowing what they were doing. Since completion of the work we have had no issues with what has been done. The plumbers were given an extra job to do, as a fault on a bath tap had arisen a few days before their scheduled arrival. This extra task is apparently a common problem, but proved particularly challenging in this case. However, they overcame the problem and all is now well. We have no hesitation in recommending this company to other people. (To Which? I don't mind what time you ring, but please, not on a Sunday. Thank you).

I contacted this company for a quotation to replace an aging Worcester Bosch combi boiler. I had in mind which boiler I needed and David arrive promptly and gave advice on a slightly higher rated version for my needs and explained why. The quote arrived the following day. David also said that some improvements were necessary because of the high mains water pressure and the C/H system need to be correctly balanced. David and Mark arrived promptly on the agreed date which took 1 1/2 days. The new boiler was installed, rads flushed, cleaned, refilled and tested. The work was carried out cleanly with explanations at each stage. Operating details of the boiler and new thermostat were given in detail. Everything was left clean and tidy and all rubbish and old boiler removed. I can highly recommended this company and will use them for the annual service and and any other plumbing work I may need.

Replacing our kitchen sink proved to be more complicated than expected and took longer than expected but Mark tackled the issues thoughtfully and carefully. He could have cut corners to get to his next job but didn't. He is a good communicator and a good plumber and we hope to contact him again when the need arises.

West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing Services LTD is a firm we highly recommend. After installing a new boiler, David and Mark reworked all of the piping, which was very inefficient. The plumbing was resized, rerouted, fastened to the floor joists, lagged and then thoroughly tested. Cost estimates were provided well before the work was started and, once approved, they showed up as scheduled and on time. Our heating system now works as it should, keeping us warm and comfortable.

I called West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing after attempting to take out a service contract with a local firm who apparently were offering a reasonably priced service contract. They took one look at my boiler and said it was dangerous and worn out but they could change it for £2700. I spoke to David at WYHP who said he would come and look and service the boiler if all was ok. David was extremely professional and quickly tested the boiler and found it was absolutely safe. He then spent a couple of hours giving the boiler the best service it’s ever had. Result as good as new boiler!! I cannot praise David enough and he’s given us the reassurance that we’ve found a reliable , competent and fair heating engineer who we will continue to use without hesitation. Highly recommended.

Worcester-Bosch gas boiler installed after removing eighteen year-old Glow-Worm boiler. New controls and filter fitted. System header tank cleaned out. Faulty condensate drain fixed (under the floor). New drain tap fitted to lowest radiator. System cleaned out with "hot flush". Exhaust hole moved to fit new boiler, and brickwork made good. The scheduled two-day fitting was successfully achieved despite the three problems fixed. David and Mark kept me informed and discussed unexpected problems during the work. The invoice arrived a week after completion and was for the exact amount quoted. This team fitted our previous boiler in 2004 when they were recommended by my nephew in the plumbing supplies trade. This time I chose them because they were good workers in 2004, and I also found the company is currently recommend on the Worcester-Bosch website.

Towards the end of August 2022, David and Mark replaced all the old (and probably inefficient) radiators, squaring them up under the windows and raising them up above the skirting boards (the old ones were all over the place!) And also installed a nice new vertical rad. They both worked efficiently and diligently despite running into unexpected challenges with double layers of flooring etc, staying late until the job was done. David returned a few days later to service my boiler, again very efficiently and timely. More recently I've had cause to ask David/Mark to attend to a couple of problems with the boiler - it's getting on a bit - (needed new pressure gauge, then today the shock arrestor needed to be replaced. On each occasion they have carried out the work with great efficiency, attend when they say they will and communicate with you if something happens that means they're not able to honour the arrangement. Polite and courteous at all times. Keep up the good work.

After replacing/re-vamping the central heating and boiler in November, the house bathroom and en-suite have now been completely redone. This involved removing the old airing cupboard and utilising the space created in the bathroom as a shower, both rooms re-tiled, re-configured and new bathroom furniture throughout. The whole process from initial contact, quote and work carried out was done professionally promptly and as arranged. The quality of work has been exemplary and the heating and bathrooms have been transformed. Highly recommended and I would definitely use again.

We asked West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing to service our old boiler. Upon discovering that it was in an unserviceable condition a clear explanation was given as to why this was the case, and options going forward were provided. Within less than a fortnight a fully itemised quote was provided, accepted, and the work installing a replacement new boiler was completed. They are very efficient and highly professional. In our case they took unexpected structural problems in their stride and went the extra mile to get the job finished in time. I would highly recommend.

We had a heating break down which in November time frame is annoying. Mark from WYHPS came over the next day to check and made a detailed assessment of the situation. He put safety first and mentioned there was no real alternative to a replacement, providing lots of technical details. Despite yearly maintenance, the system was in poor condition so I would not recommend BG for those yearly checks. We arrange a replacement for 10 days later. With some chance, it was even pulled in by 2 days. Mark and David arrived early morning and everything was done in a day involving plumbing, electrician and roof work. They upgraded the system by adding the necessary cleaning filters and other features to make the system last longer. The installation worked fine and is running much better than before. The company is a family business and everyone was very professional and friendly.

David, Mark and their team have been fantastic from the moment they quoted through to completing the works. It was a large undertaking that multiple plumbers refused to quote on. WYHP, on the other hand, talked us through all the options and provided a detailed, reasonable quote. Unlike every other plumber we had round their proposal complied with building regs and took into account the latest technologies. Upon commencement of work we were nervous as it’s an older property with a number of period features. This concern was misplaced as WYHP carefully installed a large amount of piping throughout the property without a single bit of damage. They kept us updated throughout, suggesting improvements and ensuring we were involved in every major decision. The end result is a powerful, modern system that heats the house quickly and provides a huge amount of hot water - future proofed so it can power multiple bathrooms simultaneously. After works were complete there were a few very minor issues but David came out almost immediately and fixed all of them. We really can’t recommend them enough - the workmanship is top notch, they took the time to explain each part of the system to us and we felt completely comfortable with them all working in the house. To top it off they’re punctual, hard working and completely transparent with costs so there were no surprises.

Mark installed a new worcester combi boiler in my property after it was determined that the current 19 year old one was knackered and beyond useful repair. The quote was provided quickly and was competitive, the work being scheduled for 2 weeks later. Mark and his team did a thorough job of installing - what looked like a simple swap became a difficult job due to the requirement to fit a new gas pipe and difficulties routing this through the ceiling of the cellar. This meant the job ended up taking double the allotted time (1 day became 2 days). The job was still invoiced to quotation despite the extra time taken. They turned up bang on time both mornings and put in 12 hour days to get it done ahead of the weekend. The team cleaned up pretty well considered the disruptive nature of the work (removing a plasterboard ceiling and putting it back up again). I wouldn't hesitate to use Mark, David and his team again for ongoing servicing of the new boiler.

The bathroom radiator stopped working 5 years ago. Several visits from other plumbers resulted in failure. I am so impressed with West Yorkshire heating for persevering, solving the problem by removing incorrect pipework and re-routing a new connection. At last a warm bathroom. Our boiler required replacement, and David provided a detailed estimate of the work and the new boiler and materials necessary to complete the job. He answered subsequent questions about the work in a second visit which he was happy to make. The cost of the work was competitive and the job was completed within the quoted cost and within the timescale allocated to the job. Mark and Joe undertook the work in an efficient manner, overcoming problems with re-routing and improving the gas supply, and altering pipework for the existing system, for the modern boiler. An electrician also had to attend to provide new wiring for the boiler requirements. At all times the team were happy to answer questions and provide information about the work that they were doing. They cleaned and removed all detritus from the work areas. At the end of the job a full explanation of the system was provided and the necessary guarantee paperwork was completed for us. We were very happy with the professional job that was completed.

As I had no heating or hot water, they came straight from work at 8.30pm (without their evening meal) to what appeared to be an easily fixable boiler fault but turned out to be a time consuming blockage in the pipes. They stuck at it until everything was in working order, and left all clean and tidy even two hours later. That's what I call customer service.

West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing fitted a new bathroom basin and toilet for us. They arrived on time, were polite throughout the time they were with us and cleaned up as they were going along. They also explained what they were doing and why, a seemingly small thing but important to us. We were very impressed by the quality of their work and thoroughly recommend them.

They fitted my new Worcester Bosch central heating boiler 2 years ago and they service it every year. This was the 2nd service. My only criticism is that they do not answer messages left and I had to ring their 3 numbers several times. Once I spoke to one of them and he promised to ring me back but didn't. Other wise they're good and don't cost the earth.

Annual boiler service. A very thorough service as always and also they checked a radiator that was making a knocking noise. I was given advice on things to watch for when the noise next happened and we also tried to change a setting to see if that would stop the sound. I was also told either way to let them know what the outcome was.

The recent work involved replacing 2 radiators and making adjustments to the boiler. West Yorkshire Heating and Plumbing installed the boiler for us 9 years ago and have serviced it regularly since. They also installed a shower and a gas fire. All the work was done to a good standard and finished off nicely.
