Using the table: Customer score: Based on a combination of overall satisfaction and how likely people are to recommend the company. In August 2022, we asked 8,361 Which? Connect panel members and the public to complete an online survey about their experiences of booking and going on holiday in the past two years. In September 2023 we asked 1,918 Which? Connect panel members about their experiences of an all-inclusive holiday.
British Airways Holidays' standout result came in the ski holidays category where it finished in second place after Virgin Holidays. In this category holidaymakers were most impressed by its five-star value for money, praising its ‘great offers’ and ‘prices’. Customers also complimented the ‘painless’ booking process.
In the city breaks category British Airways Holidays received a five-star score for description matching reality. And it was in the top five providers of city breaks, though not highly-rated enough to be a Which? Recommended Provider.
As an all-inclusive holiday provider, BA Holidays scores fairly well with customers but it is more expensive, on average, than Jet2 or Tui, according to our survey, and one in three guests told us they experienced a problem on their holiday.
In the beach/resort holidays category British Airways Holidays ranks in the bottom half of the table of providers. Its worst score in this category was three stars for value for money. At an average price per day of £126pp for its short-haul holidays, it was much more expensive than top-of-the-table Jet2Holidays at £104pp.
British Airways Holidays delivers a good-value ski holiday with good accommodation and customer service. They are also a good option for city breaks. However, for beach/resort holidays and all inclusives there are far better-rated alternatives. Jet2Holidays, for example, is cheaper, with a higher customer score and better star ratings.
