Which? verdict

While easyJet holidays can provide an affordable beach/resort, all-inclusive, city, family or solo holiday package, it doesn’t excel at any of them. Several competitors in a similar price bracket beat it on customer score, with its customer service proving to be an issue of concern. It’s worth looking elsewhere.

What's easyJet holidays like?

easyJet was firmly in the bottom half of most of the holiday categories in which it was rated. When it came to the average cost of its holidays, seven companies provided a cheaper average short-haul price per night. But of these seven, four also received a higher customer score than easyJet, raising questions about its quality.

The biggest issue we found with easyJet holidays was its customer service, scoring an average three stars not only for beach/resort holidays but for city breaks too. One reader described receiving poor customer service when they arrived to find the hotel was overbooked and they had to be transferred to a different one. Another said: ‘The accommodation was not clean and the food was very poor. When we contacted easyJet, they did try to move us to another resort, but there was no space.’

When it comes to all-inclusive holidays, the transport to an from the destination (including transfers) was rated just two stars, as was the overall organisation of the holiday.

EasyJet will be disappointed to have not received a single five-star rating in any holiday category. However, it did perform relatively well across the board for its accommodation and how well the description matched the reality of the holiday. And one customer noted that 'the whole holiday was exactly as described, if not better'.

Should I book with easyJet holidays?

Despite an affordable range of holidays at its disposal, customers of easyJet holidays found their experiences were a bit hit and miss, and customer service did not dazzle.

It’s worth noting that there are both cheaper and better-rated holiday companies in our results tables. You might be better off spending a bit more with Jet2holidays, which got a better customer score for family, beach/resort and all-inclusive holidays.
