Based in Sheffield, the company has 10 staff and offers a variety of services such as floor laying, wood flooring installation, floor restoration, and floor sanding and polishing.

We spoke to Lisa Clark, Director of Sheffield Flooring Solutions, to find out more about their business and the benefits they get from being a Which? Trusted Trader.

A full flooring service fit for all 

Lisa says the business began when she discovered a gap in the market: ‘Some suppliers only sold flooring, then customers had to find their own fitters afterwards. I decided to have a showroom and employ fitters so that we could provide the full service to customers. We also offer full warranties, not only on the flooring, but fitting as well.’

Giving back to the community

Fundraising and sponsorship are a strong focus for Sheffield Flooring Solutions, and the company enjoys engaging with its local community. 

The charitable nature of the company impressed the Which? Trusted Trader of the Month judging panel. One of the judges said, ‘I really liked how committed they are to their local community and charities. Being a sustainable company also means a lot to them, which is great to see.’

Sheffield Flooring Solutions sponsors a local boy’s football club and also a young girl who started up a football coaching business. Two of the company’s warehouse staff take part in boxing tournaments and are also sponsored by Sheffield Flooring Solutions.

In March, Sheffield Flooring Solutions collected mothers’ day gifts and made up 50 gift bags to give to homeless people in Sheffield and the YMCA. Then at Easter, the company collected 330 easter eggs to help a young boy, Harry, who has had three heart operations. Each year Harry collects easter eggs and delivers them to children’s hospitals in Sheffield, Chesterfield and Worksop. 

But Sheffield Flooring Solutions doesn’t just help local people. It has a collection box that it donates to the nearby People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) every three months, collecting on average around £150 a year. The company also fitted a floor in the local PDSA at cost prices and in the RSPCA, too.
