Cost guide: computer and laptop repairs

We’ve spoken to computer-repair experts to provide a snapshot of how much screen repairs, hard-drive replacements and other common laptop and PC repairs could cost.

In this article

If your computer or laptop is on the blink, here’s how much you could expect to pay to get it back up and running¹.

Our figures are only a guide to average costs, and there are several factors that can affect how much you’ll be charged, including:

  • where you live
  • how long the job takes
  • the age of your computer or laptop
  • the make and model of hardware and brand of software.

Ask repair shops to break down the quotes they provide, so you know what you’re being charged for. It’s a good idea to get more than one quote to get a better idea of the going rate for your particular requirements.
