Prestige Stairlifts Ltd has been named Which? Trusted Trader of the Month for September 2022.

Based in Bexhill, East Sussex, the Prestige Stairlifts team installs new and reconditioned stairlifts in homes across the South East - covering Maidstone, Ashford, Shoreham, Guildford, Crawley, Brighton, Redhill, and Folkestone.

The company prides itself on its dedication to great customer service and going above and beyond to help those with limited mobility move around in their own homes. Two decades in the making

Charlotte said that Prestige Stairlifts Ltd was founded 20 years ago by Peter O’Donoghue with the ‘sole purpose of delivering the highest level of customer service’.

Since starting the company at just 21 years old with four years of engineering experience under his belt, Peter remains at the forefront today and the company has since grown into a team of eight employees, seven of who are certified engineers, committed to this same goal.

Prestige Stairlifts does not have salespeople, and anyone from the company who visits a home will be a qualified engineer. This is part of its mission to always provide ‘honest impartial advice’ to customers, ensuring the advice given is never sales-driven. The company also offers free no-obligation surveys to provide the best possible stairlift for each house.

Winning the Which? Trusted Trader of the Month award isn’t the first time Prestige Stairlifts has been acknowledged for its hard work  either. The company also earned a Which? Certificate of Distinction back in April 2020, an endorsement which recognises only the best and most reputable traders and is based on outstanding customer feedback and proper business conduct.

Top customer service and five star reviews

In a line of work such as this, where many clients have reduced mobility and/or may be elderly, being respectful, sensitive to customers’ needs and understanding their requirements truly makes a difference, especially to those more vulnerable.

At the time of writing, Prestige Stairlifts has an impressive five star score on the Which? Trusted Traders website, based on 80 reviews. It is also recommended by 100% of customers, with many appreciating the level of care and professionalism shown by the engineers.

One satisfied customer writes: ‘Tim came to my parents' house in Eastbourne yesterday to fit a stairlift, I just wanted to say a massive thank you. He was thorough, thoughtful and extremely kind! We are in the midst of a very difficult time as a family and that he would come in with such gentleness and attention to detail was so so gratefully received by us all. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you, you never know what people are going through and to show kindness is the best gift, very very grateful.’

Prestige Stairlifts, as well as providing the utmost care and support for their customer base, also engage in charitable works around the South East.

One standout case was the generous donation of a stairlift in 2016 to a man who had been left permanently disabled and wheelchair-bound by an attack several years prior. Alfie Peak, the victim of this attack, had never seen his own children’s bedrooms until he won a competition run by Prestige Stairlifts, who installed the stairlift free-of-charge.
