This exciting collaboration will give vetted members of The MLA a great opportunity to become a Which? Trusted trader; and access to all the great benefits our scheme entails.

Stephen McCluskey, Managing Director of Which? Trusted Traders, said: 'Our Which? Trusted Traders service gives consumers the confidence to make the right choices when it comes to finding skilled professionals and we’re pleased to be able to work with MLA to give traders the chance to distinguish themselves from their peers. This scheme is a valuable, free resource for consumers and will help banish the risk of bodge jobs.'

With the absence of government licensing of locksmiths, The MLA, is a not for profit organisation, established to promote the level of skills and ethics within the industry. From a small friendly meeting of ‘like-minded’ locksmiths in London, it has evolved into the professional organisation that it is today. The first meeting group started The Master Locksmiths Association in 1958, in 1986 it became a limited company and 1994 saw a major restructure and now the membership is worldwide.

MLA has established its own licensing scheme whereby its approved companies are vetted, undergo regular inspections to ensure quality, and employ a locksmith with an exam based qualification.
