The works comprised the removal of existing doors and the installation of two sets of aluminium bifold doors. After a slightly frustrating leading period for fabrication, which was unavoidable, I received a delivery date which was adhered to. I was worried that the removal of the existing doors might cause substantial damage but that was completely avoided. The work was carried out in an exemplary manner by two competent and very pleasant fitters. I am really pleased with the final product and finish. It has made a big improvement to my house at what I considered to be a competitive price. I would definitely use them again.

1st Independent windows replaced all our original sash windows with double-glazed pvc sashes as well as installing sliding and bifold doors. Everything was completed to a high standard and all the installers were excellent. Highly recommend this firm.

I had a door/window put in a bedroom, and the last work done on 5th September 2025 was replacing blown windows that had been put in by a previous supplier 25 years previously. A builder who viewed the window/door work commented on how well it had been done. The two chaps who completed this work were very pleasant and completed the job promptly. I have used 1st Independent over recent years. A new porch was put on to replace the existing glass, a bedroom window was replaced, and patio doors were installed in my garden. All these jobs are superb, and no problems were encountered. I cannot rate or recommend this company highly enough.

The 1st Independent team were superb in terms of advice and workmanship. They were friendly, understanding and patient as this installation was for my 73 year old Aunt. The budget for the 4 sets of high quality double glazed windows was very affordable. Their tradesman (Rob) kept to the schedule of this two day piece of work and swept up after the work was finished and also took away the old windows which were replaced. Overall a really good family owned business. We have already shared to some friends their details for future possible work.

Contacted 1st independent after seeing the positive reviews online and from that first email through to completion they were friendly, helpful and in no way pushy, Had 2 rear windows replaced and Rob the fitter was clean, tidy, efficient and friendly throughout the half day it took to complete. Already spoken to them about replacing the front windows next year and would highly recommend them to anyone

This is the fourth time we have used 1st Independent Windows for our double glazing needs and have always been delighted with the results. This time we had five windows and a front door fitted. I used 1st Independent Windows recently to replace 7 windows at my flat to resolve condensation issues, the service was great from start to finish. Installation took 2 days and the flat was left clean and tidy.

From requesting a quote through to completion of the job, I can't fault the service. I had a uPVC backdoor fitted and was genuinely surprised by how quick the turnaround was.

I had nine double glaze windows fitted, 1x bay window, 1x French door and 7x Bevelled sealed units, work completed 7th March 2025. Most of the work was completed within one month of placing the order. The full service had a personal touch, Michael was very attentive to my requirements and gave advice which help me in my decision making on choice of product. When the incorrect window handle was fitted on one unit, he arrived immediately on the same day with the correct one. The fitters arrived on time and carried out the work with lot of care. My home was left clean. The windows, door and fittings are of good quality, and I appreciate the personal service offered by this family run business. The work was done to the agreed budget with no extra addition. The Bevelled units were delay but once I contacted them, a valid explanation was given. I also had a glass damage on one of my internal doors as a result of the wind when the entry doors were open for taking in the materials. This was replaced without any issues. I would have given 5* for Customer Service if I didn't have to call regarding the delay Bevelled unit. All documents and contracts are professional done and I have received all certification and guaranteed insurance. I would highly recommend 1st Independent Windows Ltd.

Although work was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort was made to ensure work was completed satisfactorily. The door was fitted efficiently and the fitter ensured that I was familiar with the locking System. Further support was offered if needed. The finish surrounding the door is very good and adds to the attractiveness of the door.

We first used 1st Independent Windows over 10 years ago, to replace windows in a rental flat we own. Unfortunately, there was a fire at the flat and one of the windows needed to be replaced. When I contacted the office they still had the original measurements and was able to put an order in without having to visit the site. The window was installed ahead of schedule, on budget and was an excellent job. We will definitely use them again and can thoroughly recommend them. It's nice to use a local business.

I have used Independent Windows twice. Once for the installation of three glass doors, including some French windows. Both times they have been excellent with tidy and hardworking workmen (indeed George this time even brought his own refreshments so never even need to provide drinks ). Their prices also seemed reasonable, especially as the job I had done this time around was difficult – it included replacing two windows in an extremely dusty attic with poor access and a dodgy ladder but Goerge coped with all that and finished on time. Independent Windows is a small family firm based in Chislehurst, Kent; yet they were also prepared to travel to my home in Surrey. they promise “no one will do it better’ on their marketing lettercard. I am certainly well pleased.

We had a new composite front door fitted very recently, which was handled by the Company in a very professional, competent manner. From the initial enquiry, on through the attendance and quote stage, right up to final fitting and follow-up contact to ensure satisfaction, everything was delivered as promised. We had a complete refit of all external doors and windows. The team at Ist Independent Windows took care with all aspects of the work, from first site visit to confirm measurements and specifications for their quote through the installation and final snag resolution. This applied as much to the installation team as the back office staff with both teams ensuring that the work was completed to a high standard.
