Not for the first time in the year I have been here Kevin and his team came to the rescue. Just a small thing - discovered a big nail in the centre of a big tyre - but outside my ability to deal with, and at a time when I needed the car later today. Less than three hours from when I was waiting for them to reopen after the Bank Holiday, I had the SMS saying the car was ready. As always, it is when the going gets tough that the tough get going, or to put it another way: most businesses can deal with the day-to-day stuff. It's when the unexpected arises that you find out who you can rely on. Much appreciated, guys!

I do most of my own servicing and mechanical work, always have. I first used 1st Stop about 3 years ago for an MOT on my car and was impressed to the point of getting a cam belt changed. This was quoted for and carried out very efficiently and economically. When I realised that they did motorcycle MOTs also I gave up using motorcycle only MOT stations and have had my bikes done there too. I realise that the DVLA now have a reminder service but I will continue to use Kevin's email and text reminder service. Also appreciate being able to book online, at a moments notice at times! Works for me with my ever growing bike collection! I have no hesitation in recommending 1st Stop.

Having become disillusioned with other local garages/dealerships charging over the odds, carrying out unauthorised work, and ALWAYS finding things that ‘needed’ to be done (when they clearly didn’t), I decided to look for an alternative independent garage when my BMW’s MOT and service became due. Came across 1st Stop Cars online, and was impressed with the reviews. Called in last week and was given a convenient appointment and a fair quote on the spot. Thankfully the car sailed through the MOT, although there was an issue with one of the locking wheel bolts which turned into ‘one of those jobs’! Kevin called to report and gave a range of options. Despite this problem taking a good deal of extra time to resolve, the work was completed very skilfully on the same day, and at no additional charge. In my experience it’s rare to go to a garage and pay only what was originally quoted, but that is exactly what happened today. Really impressed with the service received and the skill of the technicians who worked on the car. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will certainly be returning. I have been a customer of 1st Stop Cars for more than 10 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have my car serviced, MOT, tyres changed and everything else needed here because I feel they have always been honest about what work needs to be done, cost and time. Was very nervous about using a new garage after my trusted mechanic of 20 years moved away! Was delighted that my car passed the MOT first time and was so impressed with their friendly yet professional manner. I was in desperate need of an mot and found 1st stop cars online and in future won't be using anyone else!! Being a female in my 30's I'm always a little worried about being ripped off with garages but I was blown away by the honesty and professional morals of this garage. My car failed it's first MOT and I was quoted for repairs, I went ahead and booked my car in and was so pleased to be informed my original quote was lowered as I didn't need my rear brake pads changing as first thought. I would recommend this garage as they have proven they deserve their 5 stars if not more, well done 1st stop cars and thanks for getting me back on the road asap.

I took my car to 1st Stop for the first time for a service and MOT. I was kept informed at all times and was impressed by the professional yet friendly service. Needless to say I shall be back and am happy to recommend to others.

In the past six months I've seen more of Kevin than I really wanted: clutch went on the daughter's car the Friday before she needed it for a driving test - replaced on the day but she subsequently failed ( which was hardly Kevin's fault); she wanted a different radio fitted but the Xmas pressie replacement could not be fitted so Kevin photographed the back of it while it was out so that I could see the connection, but when it went back with the requisite lead the replacement radio unit still wouldn't work, so Kevin didn't charge for the labour; a couple of weeks ago it was back for its MOT and advisories were fixed on the spot within a couple of hours. I hope I don't see Kevin for another 12 months but I would have no qualms about doing so.

I have had my car service and MOT carried out at 1st Stop Cars two years in a row and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are friendly, professional, thorough and reasonable! This morning I found a puncture in my tyre, I went to 1st Stop and within an hour and a half it was fixed. I would recommend 1st Stop to all (and do!).

Without hesitation I give Kevin and his team full marks for customer service, quality and value. I moved to the area four years ago and have used 1st Stop for all our car servicing and MOT testing. I have always received 1st class customer service from Kevin and his staff, and the work has been carried out promptly and efficiently, to my complete satisfaction. My wife recently had a problem with her Mini Cooper, with the manual gearbox becoming so stiff that she struggled to change gear. Kevin advised me to bring it in so that it could be checked; he subsequently called me to say that it looked as though it needed replacement cables and gave me a quote. When the work was carried out the cables didn't need to be replaced, and the work was more than £100 cheaper than originally estimated -- I felt that this demonstrated the total honesty and integrity of 1st Stop!

We always use 1st Stop Cars. We have always had a first class service from them. Yesterday they were checking our car to find where a knocking sound was coming from. They found nothing sinister, they had the car for over two hours and there was no charge. The staff are always friendly All in all an excellent service. We would highly recommend.

I own a local delivery business and have used 1st stop for more than a decade. We as a company have 5 vehicles as well my own cars that have been looked after by Kevin and the boys at 1st Stop very well. For great advice on work or buying vehicles Kevin is always my 1st Stop. I moved to rochford aprox 14 years ago and was introduced to 1st stop cars by a neighbour who recommended them,To be honest I have used other garages in the surrounding area but have always come back to 1st stop The quality of their work is exceptional and the price's they charge is very fair,I have found Kevin and his team to be very polite /friendly/helpful,If extra work is required its explained in detail,Your under no pressure, I personally will carry on using 1st stop cars and will certainly recommend them .
