Here at A.N Checker LTD we have been installing and maintaining gas central heating systems for 50 years, and are proud to be a which trusted trader.

Having been in business since 1968 we have built a reputation of being reliable and trustworthy, carrying out various types of central heating systems and gas/electric fire installations.

We also design and install full bathroom suites,wet rooms and also can add an en suite to your bedroom/s

We have a large showroom which you can view online with google, displaying a wide range of gas and electric fires together with marble and wooden surrounds, to suit most needs.

We would recommend A&N Checker, For the work they carried out installing our new boiler it was carried out by a very professional installer, he knew his trade he was polite. He was on time and worked very cleanly.. having completed the installation he explained everything to us how to use it how to use the timer. Then having check all our radiators for the correct setting. He left us with a very peace of mind. Again, thank you A.N. Checker.

I found A.N.Checker very near to where I live, and as I had had excellent service before when I lived near Peterborough a couple of years ago from a Which endorsed gas engineer, I felt confident to use A.N.Checker for my annual boiler service, which I booked a couple of weeks ago. In the event the boiler developed a pressurisation fault in the intervening time, so I was relieved to see Carl the engineer turn up this morning. Not only did he complete the service, but as part of that he was able to correct the pressurisation fault and recharge the expansion chamber in the boiler. He said that it should be fixed, but if the expansion chamber developed the same symptoms over the next week or so, contact Vaillant and get a replacement one under warranty (boiler only 5 years old). He also freed up the pin on a TRV valve that was stuck with no extra charge. On the basis of this excellent work, I am exploring getting the firm to replace a 2-year-old-plus gas fire in the living room in the near future.

The heating system wasn’t working in our empty house and needed to be sorted quickly. I rang checkers and they offered to pick the keys up from me and carried out the repair (replacement fan) on the same day which I consider excellent customer service. All the engineers and staff are always very accommodating and I would highly recommend them.

Checkers have serviced our boiler for many years so were the obvious choice to install a new gas combi boiler and radiators this summer. Steve came to advise on best options and provided a detailed quote. The work was estimated to take 4-5 days as it involved a lot of new pipework. It was a great team effort led by Andy and Mike with support from Chris and Christian. The job was not straightforward but Andy and the team were great problem solvers in installing boiler, ten radiators and new pipework in our late Victorian house. They removed all redundant items, finished on time and to the price quoted. Great job. Many thanks.

A N Checker provide excellent service. I initially used them to service my boiler and carry out repairs to the heating system. Every time they have attended they have been knowledgeable, efficient and solved all issues. When my boiler finally gave up, they provided a quote and explained the full process to me. They were prompt to provide the new boiler, able to update pipes that needed to be changed to suit the new boiler and sorted out all of the paperwork required to register the new boiler. The work was carried out quickly and afterwards you would not have known they had been there as they tidied up completely.

We had a water leak in our central heating system. Carl Woolley from Checkers came on 28th May 2025 to repair it. Carl detected the leak quite quickly and with the least disruption in our house. There was a hole in a copper pipe under the floorboards in the middle of the lounge. This involved moving a lot of furniture, pulling back the carpet and taking up the floorboards. Carl did a brilliant job, he was quick, efficient and tidy. A really nice friendly chap - very helpful, very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. We were so grateful as the leak could have been anywhere in the house with a lot of disruption and time-consuming to find. Definitely recommend and use again. Thankyou Carl.

Our hot water kept getting hotter and we couldn’t turn the temperature down. After a couple of days we had to switch off the boiler as there was no other way to turn it off. I rang A.N Checker this morning and an engineer came this afternoon. Incredible service and there was no emergency call out fee. A part needed replacing and the engineer explained that another port also needs to be fitted to comply with safety regulations. This will be done asap. Very pleased with the knowledge, helpfulness and professionalism of the engineer.
