Here at A.N Checker LTD we have been installing and maintaining gas central heating systems for 50 years, and are proud to be a which trusted trader.

Checkers have serviced our boiler for many years so were the obvious choice to install a new gas combi boiler and radiators this summer. Steve came to advise on best options and provided a detailed quote. The work was estimated to take 4-5 days as it involved a lot of new pipework. It was a great team effort led by Andy and Mike with support from Chris and Christian. The job was not straightforward but Andy and the team were great problem solvers in installing boiler, ten radiators and new pipework in our late Victorian house. They removed all redundant items, finished on time and to the price quoted. Great job. Many thanks.

A N Checker provide excellent service. I initially used them to service my boiler and carry out repairs to the heating system. Every time they have attended they have been knowledgeable, efficient and solved all issues. When my boiler finally gave up, they provided a quote and explained the full process to me. They were prompt to provide the new boiler, able to update pipes that needed to be changed to suit the new boiler and sorted out all of the paperwork required to register the new boiler. The work was carried out quickly and afterwards you would not have known they had been there as they tidied up completely.

We had a water leak in our central heating system. Carl Woolley from Checkers came on 28th May 2025 to repair it. Carl detected the leak quite quickly and with the least disruption in our house. There was a hole in a copper pipe under the floorboards in the middle of the lounge. This involved moving a lot of furniture, pulling back the carpet and taking up the floorboards. Carl did a brilliant job, he was quick, efficient and tidy. A really nice friendly chap - very helpful, very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. We were so grateful as the leak could have been anywhere in the house with a lot of disruption and time-consuming to find. Definitely recommend and use again. Thankyou Carl.

Our hot water kept getting hotter and we couldn’t turn the temperature down. After a couple of days we had to switch off the boiler as there was no other way to turn it off. I rang A.N Checker this morning and an engineer came this afternoon. Incredible service and there was no emergency call out fee. A part needed replacing and the engineer explained that another port also needs to be fitted to comply with safety regulations. This will be done asap. Very pleased with the knowledge, helpfulness and professionalism of the engineer.

I have to say that we could not fault anything from pre installation to the job being finished. We were kept informed the whole time, both workmen (Andy and Ethan) were knowledgeable and helpful. A N Checker replaced my old boiler and hot water cylinder with a new combi boiler. Steve Checker came to survey my current system and gave me various options, including to keep my old system, which he said could last for several more years. Three years later my hot water cylinder sprang a leak and I decided it was time to make the change. They updated the three-year-old quote, gave me a date for the work, and completed the work within time and budget. They gave me a reduction when I chose a different thermostat. The job was managed very efficiently, with the different tradespeople arriving on site at the appropriate time. I have a lot of confidence in recommending Checkers and will use them again.

I contacted AN Chequer Ltd as I needed a new boiler. Steve got back to me in a few days and, once I had reviewed the price, we booked a date in the diary. They’d had a cancellation so it was brought forward by a few weeks, which suited me fine. The engineer who turned up was polite, courteous, professional and exceptionally clean and tidy. He worked really hard. Little glitch that was put right promptly. I’m absolutely delighted with my new boiler and experience of A N Chequer Ltd and have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a new combi boiler installed,after our old boiler which was situated in the kitchen,and used tanks in the loft and airing cupboard to supply hot water and heating, packed up.Checkers came next day and did the survey,and we received the quote day after that.We had the new boiler installed in a cupboard in the bedroom upstairs,so there was quite a lot of work involved.Andy and Ethan worked very efficiently and tidily,and dealt with some problems ,that came up along the way due to hidden faults .We have used Checkers several times over the last few years for fitting fires etc and they have always been able to suggest things that other places have not thought of, such as how to heat our very small but cold hallway.They are very professional,and helpful.Customer service second to none.Always answer messages quickly and we would thoroughly recommend them.A good price and an excellent job.

We requested advice on how to improve our heating system as our large house has always been cold. Steve came out to have a look and take measurements. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what needed doing. He advised a new boiler and a pressurised system, with a system flush and one new radiator. We had reasonable quote for the work and were able to book a date in the not too distant future. The engineer Shaun came as expected and was very polite, efficient, hard working and professional. the work was carried out to a high standard and we are very pleased with the results.

I wanted to replace an old gas fire. I was given good advice before I chose a really nice electric fire. Arrangements were made for a new boiler to be fitted on Monday 1st February. We choose A N Checker because of Trusted Trader recommendations and they were an accredited Worcester/ Bosch dealer. Bearing in mind “lockdown” and the difficulties this may have created, the guys who carried out the work were brilliant from the outset. They were efficient, their standard of work excellent, and made helpful suggestion to our central heating system that perhaps should have been done when the house was first built. Their quote was very competitive, which we felt was excellent value for money. Overall a first class job and would thoroughly recommend them.

I've contacted AN Checker a few times in the last few months on behalf of my elderly parents, who had problems with their heating and then recently their gas fire. The response has been brilliant. They are polite and helpful, very knowledgeable, and completely trustworthy. My dad has Alzheimer's so it's always a concern when tradespeople have to be on the premises when I can't be there - sadly he has been ripped off by a plumber in the past. But I trust AN Checker completely, and they were happy to send invoices to me. They were also very good about wearing masks due to Covid, which my dad wouldn't remember to ask them to do. Their charges are very reasonable, and when it turned out there was no problem with the gas fire, just that dad was finding it increasingly difficult to light, they refused to charge even for the call-out because someone was nearby.
