I've used AR Plumbing and Heating on several occasions now. Last time was to service my boiler. Andrew turns up when agreed and gets the job done!

I contacted Andrew after an inspection of my shower room showed the shower pump was incorrectly and dangerously installed and as result seized , leaving me without the facility The previous installer was recommended by another “trade recommender” not Which Andrew responded quickly , replaced and installed a new pump in the correct location and also added a cistern safety switch to prevent insufficient water damage I’m very satisfied with work and now engaging him on another project

I contacted Andrew about a replacing an isolation valve to a toilet and resolving a problem with the existing float valve. Not only was this carried out as requested, with a better float valve installed, but having removed the cistern, Andrew showed me the cistern bolts which I could see needed replacing. Not everyone would have flagged up something that would have required another visit from a plumber down the line. Andrew replaced these and fitted a doughnut washer - for which there was no additional labour charge. Overall I was very satisfied with the service and the price charged was fair

I’ve used AR Plumbing and Heating 7 or 8 times over the last few years, on a variety of jobs ranging from boiler servicing, replacement sink/taps/toilet cisterns and fixing a leaking pipe. Most recently, they have just installed a new bathroom suite, including re-tiling/re-decoration and some minor electrical work. I have always found Andrew to be reliable, trustworthy and responsive, producing high quality work at a fair price. He remains my first point of call when it comes to anything plumbing / heating related.

Andrew helped me with a high boiler pressure issue and a leaking toilet - both fixed promptly and at a fair price. Highly recommended.

Have worked with Andy and team on two jobs now, shower replacement and also installation of 4 new radiators. Both times Andy is easier to deal with, gets the job done on the day he is supposed to and with great effect. Would recommend Andy to anyone in the harpenden area.

Andrew was great. He identified the boiler that would work best for me, sourced it and fitted it. Communications were swift and clear. He worked around times that were convenient for me and communicated in loads of time the one time plans had to change so it was not an issue. All round I am really pleased with the work.

Andrew services our gas boiler annually, and has done various other jobs for us over the past few years. These have included, changing the odd tap, replacing showers, and installing a new hot water cylinder. He can be relied on to turn up when he says he will, and all the work has been done to a high professional standard. We have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Andrew and his team updated our downstairs cloakroom with new semi-recessed basin & unit, replaced unsightly radiator with new towel rail radiator, boxed in all the piping, snd then the tiling. All good many thanks to the team - the closkroom now looks great 😊

I've contacted Andrew multiple times over the last year. Initially for a Gas check in a newly purchased house. Then for a leaking kitchen sink And most recently to replace a downstairs toilet. All 3 times he has been great. Arrives at the scheduled time, sorts the job, takes any rubbish with him. It is difficult to find tradesmen to take on smaller jobs, but Andrew has always accepted when asked.

A R Plumbing and Heating replaced our very old boiler. They did a great job for a reasonable price, including tidying up everything & removing rubbish. We would definitely use them again.

I attempted to contact several plumbers about my leaking hot water cylinder, Andrew was the only one who bothered to reply. Problem was quickly sorted for a reasonable cost. Will definitely use again!

Andrew arrived on time. He replaced a leaking toilet with a new one which we supplied. He worked continuously during the time he was in the house. When he needed to get a part, he said roughly how long he would be gone and was back within that time. On completion of the work he cleaned the area he had worked in and removed any rubbish which he took with him. He was unable to dispose of the old toilet but apologised for that but it was something I was already aware of. Everything was arranged via email and his responses were always quick. I received an invoice for the work and it was at the price agreed plus the cost of the additional part he had to purchase. Original agreed date of work had to be changed as Andrew was let down by a colleague but when I explained difficulties we had getting a tradesman, he rescheduled and came the next day instead. Andrew was polite and did the job we asked him to do. Looking at him giving us a quote for other work as a result of his visit.

Second time using service. Leak started over Christmas, Andrew was with us next day, work done neatly & quickly. Will use again

Andrew and his team did a great job, they were on time and communicated any changes. Andrew helped up us with a range of issues in the house from removing and reinstalling radiators to fixing the shower door. He also went out of his way to try and fix the tap though the tap couldn’t be fixed. We have already arranged for a new tap to be installed by his team. Thank you Andrew and team.

Andrew was recommended by two friends independently, and he certainly lived up to his recommendations. He arrived at the time he said he would. He double-checked what was necessary. He sourced the replacement parts in less than 48 hours. He kept me fully informed at every stage. He sorted my two plumbing problems perfectly. And, his bill was very reasonable.

I email A R Plumbing and Heating and got a response the next morning and and he came the Friday of the same week to service my boiler. He quoted me eighty pounds for the boiler service in his reply, which is the amount he later invoiced. He was friendly and carried out the service while I watched and explain what he was doing. We discussed the installation of a water softener and he assessed replacing my limescale granulation filter with a water softener; existing connections etc. He then did my certificate and went to his next job.

We recently used A R Plumbing and Heating to replace two mixer taps and service the boiler. Andrew responded promptly, emailed a fair price and obtained new taps which he fitted quickly and competently a few days later. He serviced the boiler and provided the Gas Safe documentation. The work was completed to the agreed price. Andrew clearly knows his business and is pleasant and easy to get along with.

Did an excellent job of fixing my leaking radiator. Quick, tidy and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

Andrew fitted a water softener for me. He turned up as scheduled and explained everything I needed to know about it. I had bought the water softener previously, which needed an overflow pipe. He arranged the order and returned to fit it. Nice guy, did the work very efficiently with no issues at all.

Andrew and Matt did a great job replacing a cold water combination valve on our pressurized cylinder. I originally contacted Andrew because we were suffering very poor water flow and pressure throughout the house, which I believed was something to do with the cold water combination valve. Andrew came round to the house, took a few measurements and very quickly responded with a quote to replace the valve. We scheduled a date for him to come and do the work, but like most things in life right now, COVID had another plan, but Andrew communicated the reason he wouldn't be able to attend and we re-scheduled. Andrew and Matt then reliably showed up for the rescheduled visit and worked very hard to get the job done and our water back on quickly. The original plumbers had installed the valve in a very inaccessible and awkward location, which made the job much more difficult, but he was able to complete it nonetheless. The only slight negative feedback would be that I should have requested dust sheets were placed in the hallway, as with the two of them going back and forth to their van all day, the hallway was absolutely filthy by the time they had finished, however we do have a fully tiled hallway so it was no great shakes to mop up afterwards. For the actual plumbing work itself, which is of course much more important, I would say that Andrew's work is very good - nice plumb, level pipe runs and of course no leaks, and I'm very happy with the installation. Great work.

Boiler tripping out system. Called and he came soon as available. The diagnosed pump had gone quickly and got the system back online, returned with new pump hour later, fit and all back working same morning. Clear on what cost would be. Couldn’t have asked for more, will use again

Andrew Richardson and his team did a good job refitting our shower room. Andrew and his team were reliable, arriving on time as previously arranged. Work was done tidily with attention to detail. The work was done to a high standard, to budget, at a reasonable cost.

I needed 3 taps replacing in our shop and Andrew was really quick getting back to me with a very good price. He came to do the job for me and one of the taps I'd bought was the wrong size so Andrew got me another one straight away and fitted it. Andrew was my second attempt to get my boiler repaired. He took the time to establish what the issue was instead of just trying to get me to buy new which I really appreciated. He kept me informed throughout giving me realist time frames. He also took the time to explain what we needed to do and why. Andrew was very polite in all my interactions with him and the quality of his work is extremely high. I highly recommend Andrew, he is not only skilled but also a decent man and someone you can trust to look after your plumbing and boiler issues.

Andrew responded quickly to my initial request and arrived promptly to assess the job. I was expecting him to arrange another date to complete the work but he was able to carry out the work there and then replacing both the bathroom basin taps and the toilet flush mechanism. We are very happy with Andrew’s work and he left the bathroom clean and tidy.

A small job but necessary to avoid a bigger one. Very quickly and efficiently dealt with a missing waste pipe on our unvented boiler.

A shut off tap was no longer working properly and additionally had a leak at its compression joint. It was situated within a cupboard that provided difficult access. Andrew replaced the shut off tap but it later developed another leak at the compression joint. The old pipework was in poor condition and Andrew returned to replace some of that. I now have a working, leak free shut off tap.

Andrew is a very good plumber and has always been very punctual and reasonable. No complaints here and will definitely be using him again!!

Andrew and his team did our new bathroom and changed all the radiators in the house we are having refurbished. They were all very skilled and easy to deal with. They cleaned up and left the place tidied. We are very pleased with our new bathroom and radiators. They also did the plumbing work involved in our new kitchen. They came whenever it was time for them to do their share of the work in the new kitchen. What I liked best in Andrew was that he was very helpful and accommodating. As the refurb progressed, some problems in the house were discovered and Andrew was quick to say yes whenever I asked him to do extra job or fix something that was within his expertise. Of course, we need to pay more than the quote because of the additional work we asked him but the final price was reasonable. Snags that were unavoidable were quickly sorted out. I highly recommend.

Andrew is a punctual and good quality tradesmen and this is a rare thing to find these days. He has done a number of jobs for us from replacing a whole boiler to other more minor plumbing jobs and and every time he's been here when he said he would be or communicated if there's any change. We appreciate his work very much and and would like to keep him working for us. I would thoroughly recommended to anybody else

I contacted AR as they were reasonably close to my address and the recent reviews were good. I'm happy that I did as the response I received was very efficient. Although the jobs were fairly small the service was excellent. I would definitely use AR again.

I contacted Andrew to fix a leaking kitchen tap and to also do a boiler service. He was both helpful and responsive to find the parts needed for the kitchen tap and provided the quote for the job upfront. Andrew and his team arrived on time and promptly got to work and got the kitchen tap fixed and the boiler service done, and the area was clean after the work was finished. He also invoiced the same amount as the quote provided upfront. Overall I was happy with Andrew and his team’s work and would recommend them.

Andrew fitted a new shower for us. He was punctual, did a good job and kept to his estimate. He's done a number of jobs for us now, and I would recommend him.

This is the second time we have used Andrew. Andrew researched electric boilers for us, which helped us decide to connect to the gas network. Andrew then installed everything after the meter had been fitted. Andrew and his colleagues ran the gas pipes through our home, fitted a gas boiler and all the waste pipes needed and connected our central heating. He gave us a clear quote before work started. During the work we added a couple of things so it was slightly more than the original quote but all of the costs were itemised and agreed. The work took slightly longer than Andrew originally anticipated but this did not add to the cost and we were warm in time for Christmas. We like the care that Andrew takes in his work and the way that he respects that he’s working in someone’s home. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andrew to family or friends.

What was a seemingly simple job turned into more of a challenge than expected. Handled with diligence and care, issues explained and appropriate action is taken. Kept us informed. A reliable tradesman would use again without hesitation.

We had a few problems with our water pressure that needed a thorough investigation. This was done with meticulous attention to detail until the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. All in all, they were friendly and always arrived at the agreed time, willing to give advice, helpful and professional and followed up after the work was done. We were suffering from low pressure in the hot water and part of the cold water systems. With Andrew's expertise and detective work we managed to solve the problem. Now we do not need to wait 1 hour to fill the bath! An excellent job.

Andrew was very punctual, he was quick to respond to emails and he arrived on time as arranged. He sorted both our leaky water tank and non-flushing toilet very efficiently , and also came back to resolve an air lock caused when draining the tank.

We found Andrew through Which Trusted Traders. We had some smaller jobs that needed doing (taps replacing) and also our hot water had low pressure. Andrew sorted out our hot water and has also advised us on replacing out electric heating and plumbing systems. We were really impressed; he was honest about not knowing much about electric combi boilers and went away to do some research and speak to his suppliers before sending us a quote and talking us through what we'd need. We will definitely be using him again and would recommend him to all who need a plumber.

Our shower pump broke down leaving a family of 6 reliant on a bath which didn't go down well! Andy to the rescue - he attended within hours and quickly had a replacement on order. Fitting was swift and his work clean and tidy. We corresponded largely over text and the quote he provided did not alter. Andy did a good and tidy job. Fitted replacement cloakroom and kitchen mixer taps. Both jobs were a little tricky and we had to have two visits. On both occasions Andy was on time, did a good job and left the place tidy. The price charged was fair for the time it took. I would recommend his services.

Our pump went in the weekend and Andrew responded quickly to fit a new pump and the timer which had been broken for a while at the same time. He worked very quickly and cleanly and it’s the first time we have had the radiator in the front room working properly so are very happy with his work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andrew for any heating problem you may have.

We can't recommend Andrew enough... after discovering our heating was broken late into the evening we contacted Andrew and he was with us for 9am. He quickly identified the problem and fixed it - a leak under the floorboards. Andrew left the room as he found it and you would not have known he had to take up part of the carpet and floorboards to access it. Andrew also made a return trip later in the day to ensure the system was working properly. Excellent service and he worked hard to solve the problem. We can't recommend Andrew enough and we will use again.

Andrew was recommended by a family friend who he had done work for in the past. He was very flexible in making an evening appointment and provided good advise on quotation which we hadn't thought about before to maximise space in the bathroom. We decided on Andrew beacuse he was very pleasant and we could tell he knew his stuff. So very happy our bathroom looks Amazing. At the end of every day you would not even know we were having work done, very tidy workman. Thumbs up, I will definitely recommend him.

I was really happy with the service. We had a very quick reply, organised a time slot for the visit and soon had a diagnosis of the problem. They went off to collect the part and returned to fit it later in the day and the boiler was back up and running providing heating and hot water. I called AR Plumbing and Heating because my hot water tank wasn't getting hot. They arrived within 2 hours and fixed it inside the hour as promised.

Following being left without cold water by another plumber we called A R Plumbing & Heating. They were understanding and came to us very quickly. It was apparent from the minute he arrived that he was very efficient and quickly resolved the wrong doing of the previous plumber. We had three issues regarding an installation of a hot drinks tap, replace timer on the boiler and he also resolved the extremely hot water problem. Despite the initial problem of our new tap being older stock he quickly phoned the company to get a resolve. Other parts were ordered and a soon as he was able he returned to finish the job. The plumber also was very careful in the property and cleaned up after himself leaving everything clean and tidy. We would not hesitate to call A R Plumbing back to help in the future and would recommend him to anyone.

Andrew completed the re-Ferb of my apartment, I had a new kitchen, bathroom, boiler and radiators Installed. The project required brand-new pipework throughout. Very good service. He worked on the project but also managed a small team. I was very happy with the end result.

A R reconnected a pipe and soldered a couple of radiator pipes quickly. He's very busy so plan ahead when no emergencies.

Andrew and his team were fantastic. Their knowledge and expertise were incomparable. Furthermore, the speed of their work was good and their flexibility of the ir working time was good too, as they had to deal with a deal of the goods. I have an amazing bathroom which is equal to a high end hotel space. I'm made up with everything they did for me from customer service to expertise in tiling and plumbing.
