ABi Doors

We have two garages with a small workshop in between. Our old-fashioned wooden panelled doors were suffering badly from moisture damage and were quite swollen and difficult to open in the winter. We decided to replace them. I approached a few companies but they weren't at all clear about how much it would cost. We went with Abi because they are a local Yorkshire company, they manufacture to size, they gave us a good idea of likely costs on the phone, and pricing was very reasonable. We arranged for one of their staff to come and measure up. He arrived on time and was very efficient, he explained that we could have metal doors which would look similar to the existing front opening wooden ones and we were sent a quote a couple of days later. We paid a deposit and were told that they would be in touch in a few weeks when the doors were made. True to their word they contacted us and made a date for fitting. Again, the fitters arrived on time and fitted two large pairs of garage doors and a small door for the workshop. They completed the work in a few hours, sealed the cracks, took away the old doors, and swept up and left the area tidy. The whole experience was trouble-free and I would recommend the company. The doors look great too and are easy to operate and secure. An invoice then arrived which we paid - no hidden costs.

At first, we had new garage doors fitted by Abi, and because the service and experience was so pleasant and painless we ended up buying 2 new external doors from them too. Prices were very competitive, they are very knowledgeable and confident about the products and no pushy sales techniques. Communication throughout was great and arranging installation was quick and easy. On the day the fitters arrived on time, were polite and tidy and did a great job. I had a small niggle with one of the garage doors and they came back the next day and resolved it without issue. Overall they made my life very easy and did a cracking job which can be quite rare these days. Another happy customer.

Installing my garage door was quite complicated because I was replacing a double door with a single one and they worked really helpfully with my builder while the wall was built to join to. This included taking away the old door booking it in at short notice then rescheduling when things got delayed our end to install the new door. They even cut a cat door in with great care to ensure it worked for my cat. Everybody I dealt with in the office showroom, installations and on-site were unfailingly helpful flexible and polite which continued once I had paid and wanted to check a couple of things. I am delighted with the door and quality of workmanship.

I spent a fair bit of time researching a company to replace my garage door, I saw ABI and investigated and felt they had a very good reputation. From the outset I felt looked after and all my questions were answered, the initial survey was completed pain free, communication was very good and I was kept informed throughout the process. Installation was very smooth and the installer was very friendly and explained everything to me in a clear and concise way. The finished product is stunning and looks beautiful. I obtained 3 quotes from 3 separate companies when I decided to have a motorised garage door fitted in summer 2023. With all 3, I selected companies which had good reviews. While the other two companies were perfectly friendly and offered reasonable prices, ABI really felt like they were genuinely interested and wanted to offer the best solution for my circumstances. Chris offered some really good insight into the pros and cons of different motorised systems, explaining why a sectional door - which is what I ultimately chose - would be the best option. I didn't feel like I was on the receiving end of a hard sell, which was really important to me. But nor did I ever feel that Chris was anything other than engaged in what he was offering. So not only did I get the reassurance I needed, but I also ended up with the best price (those 2 things that don't always go hand-in-hand!). When I placed the order, ABI explained there would be a wait of approx 8x weeks, which was fine for me. In fact, it ended up being slightly less. The communication throughout was good and clear. On the day the door was fitted, the fitters arrived well within their predicted timeslot and cracked on with the work. They had a great attitude and did a really good job, both removing and disposing of the old door, fitting the new one and explaining how it all worked before they left. Based on my experience, I would rate ABI extremely highly and would have no hesitation recommending them. Excellent job!

We had ABI install our Hoermann back door a few years ago and have been delighted with it. So when we built an extension with a garage we knew we wanted them to provide our garage door and internal security door. We are 100% delighted with both new doors. The sectional garage door opens extremely quickly and smoothly - no wobbling or squeaking - just pure German efficiency. The fitters were extremely efficient and got everything installed in less time than they had allocated. We are totally delighted and would entirely recommend ABI and Hoermann doors.

The door wouldn't open & service. Service and repair were quick. Service included much advice on what to watch and look out for. The fault was a broken cap on one of the wheels. The wheel and cap were replaced quickly and for £10. Everything was checked or altered ( spring tension ). All in all it was a friendly and excellent job. I would highly recommend.

The work was done on schedule and on budget. The old door and its associated components were dismantled and removed and replaced with the new door by a team of two who appeared well-organised and efficient. The job took three hours to complete and the garage was left clean and tidy. A very satisfactory outcome.

From enquiry to completion I have been very impressed with ABI's service and quality of work. I appreciated being given a named point of contact for any queries, and that someone was available at the end of the phone if needed. The installers came at the date and time booked, and completed the job within 2 hours. They took away all old parts and garage door, and cleaned up after themselves too. They were polite, and took the time to demonstrate the door to me prior to leaving. I was delighted by the work completed and would recommend ABI doors to friends and family.

I have just had a new garage door installed and I am very pleased with the quality of the door and the standard of workmanship, the surveyor spent a lot of time measuring up and showing us our options and was very helpful. The price of the supply and installation was good and the quality of the door is spot on and well worth the wait which was a little longer than I had expected. Very professional.

We had a great experience with ABI doors. Their quote was competitive, they delivered to our exacting specification and nothing was too much trouble. The installers were professional, friendly and did and excellent job. It's rare not to have anything to complain about but they delivered exactly as they promised. Brilliant.

Right from the first contact, everyone I contacted has been really helpful. We had a very old Gliderol door that needed replacement. This was organised easily and fitted by their team. Great service and I feel good value for money.

ABI Garage Doors, were easy to find on the internet, and I was glad to see how well this family-based firm just get on with things. They provided friendly and swift communication around booking the work on my garage, communicating thereafter, and their operator (Simon) communicated reassuringly, and fixed my garage door in reasonable time. After the work was completed, it was good to see that a variety of payment methods was available. Will definitely use ABI in future.

All interactions with Abi, including initial enquiries, site visit, providing an estimate for the job, and installation date were all carried out with the utmost of efficiency. The two guys arrived on time, did and excellent job of fitting an up and over door to an old concrete garage, and left leaving no advice. Advice regarding further repairs to my garage were readily provided and they even came back later in the day to check that all was well.

From my initial enquiry to the completion of work ABI Garage Doors have been a pleasure to deal with. I requested a specific RAL colour on a Hormann sectional door, I got an instant quote very competively priced and within 6 weeks the door was fitted and looked amazing! I contacted ABI doors by email and a Surveyor, George attended my house on Wed 30th Nov 2022. He was most helpful in assisting with the choice of garage door from the online catalogue, especially with regard to cost. He said that he would try to arrange the installation of the new door before Christmas as the old one was broken and difficult to open. To my surprise, I received a phone call 3 days later to say that the Engineers would be attending on Monday to complete the job. Brad and Matthew attended and fitted the electric up and over door in 3 hrs. I was extremely impressed by their work ethic (no stops for hot drinks) and their professionalism. Brilliant service by the ABI Team. Very impressed. Would recommend them to anybody. Competitive price also.

The engineer turned up within the agreed time slot. Looked over the door and and mechanism thoroughly and explained in good simple terms what needed to be done, and then worked well to achieve that. He was with me for just under one hour. The door has never worked better and I am delighted with the work. The engineer was polite and helpful, as were the office staff who took my booking, and I would thoroughly recommend this organisation.

ABi supplied and fit an electrically operated, insulated, sectional Hörmann garage door for us. The customer service from ABi has been exceptional. It can't have been the easiest supply and fit for them due to us having to put the build on hold and replace the garage floor slab, which meant ABi needed to come out a second time to measure up and then there were multiple decision changes on door due to the opening being built at 7' instead of 8', but ABi worked with us to make sure we had the information we needed to make the correct decision. The Hörmann sectional door looks great and is of excellent quality. It has already made a difference in temperature, which bodes well for winter. We have seen a huge reduction in sound transfer too. ABi were able to colour match the diamond window surrounds to our house entrance door, with the garage door itself matching the house windows in both colour and texture. I highly recommend ABi

When I rung ABi for a price for replacing the wire cords on my garage door I was given a quote without anybody been to view the door which I thought was very professional.Craig the engineer arrived at the agreed time and done the job very well and also serviced the door when I asked him.A very well done job

Abi fitted my new garage door, all staff I dealt with were polite and well educated on the products, from the lady who showed us around the showroom to George the surveyor who explained the different products and listened to our needs and the fitters who turned up on time, worked quickly and did a great job, leaving the garage tidier than it was to start with. Would have no hesitation in recommending or buying from again.
