I explained the problem with the ladder not clearing the hatch and that the job was partially completed. Kelvin took the job on and completed in a day, on a Sunday, because he was booked up for the next two weeks and did not want to leave us with an open hatch. Very thoughtful, the job was completed to a good standard. He fitted three LED strip lights to complete the job and placed a new switch conveniently by the hatch. Mr Kelvin Lee and his staff added additional insulation to our loft, boarded the part that we wish to use for storage and also added extra storage shelving. The quote we received from Access4lofts in Milton Keynes was very reasonable. It was well laid our and easy to read. It was also half the price of a comparable quote from an alternative supplier. The work was done in less time than expected. Our Carpets were protected while the work was carried out and protective shoes and gloves were worn. No mess was created. Kelvin came to survey the job and was very knowledgeable about what could and couldn’t be done. We had raised boarding where the old water tank sat. This needed to be removed to fit the new loft hatch and wooden ladder. Out of all the companies to survey the job, Kelvin was the only one to suggest cutting this boarding up and creating extra storage space. The quote was also one of the cheaper out of all those received. I was out for the day of the works but my wife commented that they just came in and got on with the work. They had an issue with not being able to move a smoke alarm but found a solution around this. We are pleased with the end result and the area was left very tidy after completion. Choosing a loft company is a bit of a minefield but I am very pleased we chose Kelvin at Access4lofts. The quote was below what we expected for a new build and the work carried out within a week of the quote, with text messages keeping us informed. Kelvin arrived on time (in fact early) and just beavered away all day with little fuss or disruption to the household. The stairs and hallway were carefully prepared to minimise damage and mess. The work itself is top-class and Kelvin made sure I was aware of the safety measure required when operating the loft ladder. The house was left and clean and tidy as when he started except we now have a lovely loft conversion too! Very happy with the outcome.

Kelvin and the team did a super job of fitting loft boarding over a large space. He laid the insulation and put the floating boards on top. He arrived on time for both days and cleared up after himself. He took the time to show me what he had done and where he had to avoid due to pipeworks before he left. They also laid coverings over the floor and covers on their shoes to ensure there was no damage to the carpet. Really appreciate the effort!

We got in touch with Kelvin as we were looking to have our loft boarded and a ladder installed. We booked in for quote and Kelvin arrived on time and thoroughly assessed our needs, while also making recommendations along the way. His quote was reasonable and we booked in the work. On the day of the work, Kelvin was extremely diligent and went above and beyond to complete it all within a single day. He was even quiet enough that our 1-year old managed to nap during the work! The end result is fantastic, neat and we are very happy with the work. Kelvin also did a thorough job of tidying up after himself and was extremely polite throughout our communications.

I needed a new draught proof loft hatch and a ladder. Kelvin turned up on time, listened to my requirements and knew exactly how to solve the problems. I got the quote the same afternoon. We wanted a loft ladder installed and an area of around 7.5 sq metres boarded. Kelvin was prompt, courteous, very professional and helpful with suggestions/ideas. He was also a lot cheaper than some others who quoted. He was quick and efficient and even dismantled an old (no longer used) flue stack that was in danger of falling down - at no extra cost. He left us with a very smart looking storage space - and no mess!. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting this type of work doing.

Kelvin carried out work for us in November 2022, when he improved our level of loft insulation, replaced our boarding (and moved our existing flimsy boarding to make shelves), and installed a much-needed loft ladder. All work was done to schedule, he was friendly throughout, and tidied up thoroughly. However we recently had a fault develop on the loft ladder. After we provided photographic evidence (a reasonable request) Kelvin arranged for a replacement ladder, which was installed very promptly with the same courtesy. Certainly to be recommended.

The work was carried out on the date agreed, within the timescale originally quoted and without any variation to the scope or cost. Mr Lee was very polite, prepared the access and work area fully with dust sheets before starting any work, worked without a break and cleaned the the area completely upon completion including hovering the landing carpet. I was invited to inspect the completed work and how the hatch operated before Mr Lee loaded his equipment and departed. There was no evidence that he had been in the house save for the new hatch. We were very pleased with the finished product and would recommend this Company.

We wanted a loft latch / ladder and boarding doing, when Kelvin came to quote he talked us through some options as the location of the hatch was in a small area and the existing hatch was quite small so would need to be expanded. Other traders had said it wasn't possible due to the location and suggested relocating the hatch to another room. Kelvin took his time measuring and assessing and confirmed he could do it. Quote arrived straight away. Once we confirmed, we had a date booked for within a few weeks. Kelvin was extremely professional and took great care in protecting the carpet and keeping the front door ajar whilst he was bringing materials/tools in and out from his van. He left the area very tidy afterwards and talked us through how to pull the ladder down etc. We are very pleased with Kelvin's work, the hatch is fitted very well and looks great from the outside. Very pleased with everything. The new loft access looks great, the ladder is stable and everything seems to be good quality. Clear instructions were given on how to access and use the ladder. The work was done quietly and efficiently and, best of all, I didn't have to do any tidying up afterwards which, let's face it, is a rarity when having any form of work done!

I selected Kelvin from three tenders because of his approach to my problem. A previous contractor had underestimated the difficulties and abandonned the work. Kelvin met the problems as they were uncovered and we agreed on the way to deal with them to my satisfaction. I would certainly recommend him to others.

Kelvin has done a great job in fulfilling our needs. He listened to what we wanted and just got on with the job in a professional and courteous manner. He is a lovely friendly person. When he first visited us for a quote, he provided a piece of honest advice about the parts of the lofts that could be useful to be boarded. Unlike other companies who spent five minutes and say OK to what you want, they made drawings and explained to us what we should board, and whether this is enough or not. He has been working three days to board out the whole loft and fit a 3-section ladder. He is focused on his work, spends long days (nine hours per day) doing the work without long breaks.
