Opted to use a local company. The whole process of organising a quote, measuring up and booking an installation date was simple and we had good communication all the way through the process. The Fitters (Jason & Roger) arrived on time and were very friendly and efficient. The job was completed in just over 2 hours with no mess. The standard of work was excellent and the finished job looked great, we were very pleased - thank you to all the team at Acorn. Would definitely use again.

When we purchased our late Victorian property we knew that it would need a lot of work. With the greatest single expense being the windows that needed replacing. We tried some larger companies who gave inflated quotes and played a silly game to pressure us to agree. We found Acorn while looking around West Bridgford and after meeting our neighbours also found out that they had used them and recommended them highly. Acorn gave us a friendly and comforting service from the start, as it turns out we decided to replace all 19 windows in the house and considered replacing the front door as well. They communicated frequently and were able to accommodate our requests despite the complexity of the job, with several old sash box windows needing to be replaced. There was no pressure and we went back and forth on the plans even including a window we all missed at the end. After a couple of months of waiting we managed to get Jamie and his son Josh in at the end of October. They worked at a breakneck pace, despite the need for a brick-up of half a window and a slightly too ambitious schedule which is our only real criticism. The work they did was of the highest quality and they were friendly and helpful throughout, repairing an outside cill not originally in the plans that had collapsed on the 2nd floor. They answered any questions we had as they went along and came back at the weekend just to get things finished. Leaving the tidy & clean. Overall we could not be happier!

Acorn Windows were absolutely fantastic to deal with, very professional throughout, a breath of fresh air to be honest. Dealing with David and Sam was a great experience. Dave and Brad fitted eight windows and a front door, they were extremely polite, efficient, tidy workers who took a genuine pride in doing a great job. Jay and Roger followed up on some additional work required, again the same applies, what great teams! A big thank you for taking such pride in your work, so much appreciated!

We've just had our rear window & lintel fitted yesterday. Both the guys (Jason & Roger) that carried out the work at our house today have been fantastic! They were both really polite, clean & tidy, very knowledgeable & have done an excellent job going above & beyond, cannot fault them or their workmanship which has been done to an exceptional Standard. Would highly recommend & will definitely use Acorn & team again in future!

Following a significant amount of research we chose Acorn to replace our windows and doors. This was based on feedback from other customers and the obvious experience of their salesman and surveyor. At no time were they pushy, which cannot be said of other companies we requested quotes from. Their quote was competitive and we made several revisions which were all captured in the specification. When the installation started it became clear that removing the existing windows was going to be extremely difficult, but at no stage was it suggested that a short cut would be taken. The installation team (father and son) worked incredibly hard to ensure that all aspects of the specification were followed. The quality of work was outstanding. Having read so many stories about double glazing nightmares it was refreshing to have the work completed stress free. Choosing Acorn shows the benefit of choosing a family run company that really care about their customers, I cannot recommend them enough.

This is the 3rd time that we've used Acorn, having previously used them to replace our upstairs & bay windows. This time, we needed to replace our back door. Edgar was very helpful in suggesting the different options that were available to us, & we ultimately went with his recommendation of a door with an integral tilt & turn panel. The installation engineer was also very helpful & did an excellent job with the installation, including showing us how to use the lock & keys (which operate in a slightly unusual way). The integral tilt & turn panel looked even better than we expected, and we have been making full use of it ever since. After the installation, we had some minor issues with obtaining extra keys and the door started sticking. We reported these issues to Acorn and the Managing Director came round to discuss them in person. This was a mutually beneficial process, and we were very happy with both the discussion and the resultant action. It is rare to find a company that is so willing to own, learn from and rectify their mistakes. We will definitely keep using Acorn in future!

I have been using Acorn Windows for around 20 years, starting with soffits, facias & guttering. Since then I have helped both my son and daughter with work on their first own homes and now some on the mother-in-law's house in two weeks time. Yesterday we had a new back door with side window fitted. Initially there were some problems for the first time ever with the fitting date being re-arranged 3 times. So I was very frustrated with Acorn. It seems these delays were caused by illness in their fitting teams and they recently explained they don't like using contract fitters whose work may not be to the same standards as their own employed fitters. In the end we were pleased with this approach as Jason & Roger did a great job yesterday. They were both very pleasant and explained all they were doing. When finished they demonstrated the workings of the door, including how the key should be used for locking (slightly different from some other doors). They also cleaned up well and left no mess. So our faith in Acorn has been restored and we look forward to a similarly high quality job at the mother-in law's in two weeks time.

We initially had Acorn in to replace our windows and doors in 2021 as we felt they had the highest quality product of the quotes we had received. We encountered a few issues but were incredibly impressed with how they resolved everything, with the MD James coming out, going over our concerns, making a plan to resolve them all and waiting until we were fully happy before our final payment. Our doors and windows are excellent and we've had multiple compliments on how well they look with our Victorian house, particularly the composite door. We called them again when we started to consider getting our extension done, James came out a couple of times to go over plans with us, then when we were ready to commit, the quote they provided was the most competitive of the 3 we received, plus we had met the project manager Mick previously and instantly felt in good hands so put a deposit down. Sadly, the plans fell through on the discovery of sewer lines surrounding our house that we couldn't build near. James and Mick were very supportive in discussing solutions and Mick came out to meet our building planner, even opening up the sewer covers to work out what we may or may not be able to do which was incredibly helpful and led us to the decision to sell rather compromise on our plans. Despite us offering to cover both of their times, James was understanding of our situation and fully refunded the deposit. We would use them for any other building work without question. Highly recommend.

Acorn fitted several windows to my property. After the fitting, I noticed that one glass window was scratched. I informed Acorn and the faulty window was replaced to my total satisfaction. I would like to say that this happened AFTER I had paid my invoice. The team listened to my feedback, in a polite and professional manner, and quickly replaced the window in question. I understand that a fault can rarely happen but the manner in which this was dealt with was first class.

This is the 2nd time using Acorn windows. Very competitive company. Work carried out to replace 8 windows at our house. Everyone we dealt with at Acorn was very polite and helpful. Big shout out to Jason and Roger who worked great as a team in completing the install in 1 and half days! 🥳 Property left tidy apart from a lovely covering of dust which couldn't be avoided with having to remove old brick cills! 😀Thanks again Acorn Windows.

We had a window replaced with french doors and a door + window replaced with a larger window in our kitchen. This included all brickwork and two new lintels. The price was very competitive and Jamie and son Josh did an absolutely brilliant job. From the outside, it looks original and has completely changed the way our kitchen looks and feels. Will definitely use Acorn again in the future and would highly recommend.

Just had a conservatory installed in my bungalow after having four windows and a door fitted the previous year from Acorn Windows, they are a dream to deal with very efficient and professional, the quality of the product coupled with the skill of the fitters actually makes for a fantastic end result. James the MD did the quote and though they did a couple of extras which were not on the quote the price given was what they charged, Mick who does the measurements and goes through how the end product will look is at the top of his game, everything fitted perfectly and was exactly as described, the bricklayers were superb and Steve (Tomo) the fitter and his workmate Adam worked like Trojans in foul weather to deliver a superb conservatory. If you are thinking of having a conservatory this company is well worth employing.

Acorn Windows have done a considerable amount of work on our property over a 5-month period. All the house windows were replaced, the roofline changed to plastic and the gables faced with lead cladding. In addition they constructed a large 6m x 3m garden room with large opening doors and a triangular window over one of the doors. The house has been modernised and upgraded. All the work has been carried out to a very high standard and all the workmen from their own company, or under contract, have been very skilled, polite and tidy. We have no hesitation recommending them.

Acorn Windows came highly recommended by a friend and lived up to all expectations. I needed a very old glass lean to replacing on my house. James came out and suggested increasing the amount of glass to maximise light. This consultation was followed by a prompt and competitive quote. The fitters were on time, polite and really hard working. They worked quickly and left everything tidy each night. The finish is outstanding! The new windows and glass roof have transformed the space. I’m over the moon! Very highly recommend using Acorn Windows.

I had 2 old aluminium windows replaced in my bungalow as part of refurbishment a living room bay window and a bedroom window. The price was competitive and the process from start to finish straightforward with surveying and installation dates kept to. The bay roof lathe and plaster ceiling was damaged prior to window installation and the fitters gave me some advice on repair / replacement of the area including the need for insulation which was helpful

We had new doors/windows and our garage converted by Acorn Windows recently. Their team were very friendly and efficient and did a brilliant job, which we are really pleased with. Would definitely recommend to others.

Asked for picture window to replace broken door and fix water ingress. After consultation and discussion Juliet balcony -which was poorly made by previous builder was removed, window placed, roof made to fit in with rest of roof. Beautiful job. Courteous conscientious builder-Mick- polite hard working considerate. Work done to very high standard. Answered all my questions. Used Acorn before , who replaced my front door and built my porch. They were fantastic then. I trust them completely They will not do things that don’t need doing but they do everything to make the job professionally well done and to high standard. They will be adaptive if needed and correct any issues or damage if caused-great work

Just a quick note to thank James, Mick and their team for their friendly and utterly professional commitment to excellence. From the original conversation with James, through every aspect of detail of our new orangery, the removal of our old conservatory and on to the erection of our extension….everything has been simply first class. They have a waiting list for a reason: they’re marvellous! Thanks again.

Acorn were thoroughly professional and courteous. They arrived punctually and completed the work with the minimum of fuss and disruption. The windows look great - they did an excellent job.

From start to finish, the attention to detail, craftsmanship, management and delivery of the project, as well as the final products has been top class. I want to thank the whole team for talking through options and plans, answering questions, coordinating the teams of professionals and delivering the build extension to such a high quality. There was no hard sell at any stage and all delivered in a professional and friendly manner. I have no hesitation in recommending Acorn Windows to others (and indeed already have) and I would readily go back to Acorn in the future.

The word that springs immediately to mind to describe Acorn is amazing. I truly mean that. They are professional, thorough and courteous. I cannot speak highly enough of the team. From beginning to end everything was just perfect. no gimmicks, no nonsense, no pressure, no hard sell, just honest professionalism. I had a new front door and side panels fitted. I was very impressed with the two fitters who worked with such care for my home. I had mentioned that I wanted to sell my old door and side panels so they removed them with care. Although it cannot be guaranteed, none of my decoration was damaged at all, my carpets were covered up properly, they had respect for my home. I had had four previous quotes prior to Acorn Windows quoting me, some cheaper some more expensive, but as previously stated ,I liked the no nonsense approach, no pressure, no hard sell. Just an invite to come and view the show home which was by the way very impressive,you can actually see the quality of the products. I had one very minor problem with my door, which was corrected within days. The after sales are great nothing is a problem. I am so satisfied that I am now booked in to have three windows replaced in February. Oh,and I never bothered having quotes from anyone else !!!!

All of the staff involved from the initial contact, the visit to quote, the detailed survey and through to carrying out the work to replace 4 windows were professional, and very considerate. At each stage any questions were answered promptly and clearly and the work was carried out to the agreed schedule and cost.

This is the second time Acorn has worked for us. Last year they replaced windows to the rear of the house. The quality of their work then, gave us confidence to ask them to undertake the major task of replacing ground floor and first floor bay windows with double glazed sash windows. We were particularly anxious that the Edwardian features of the house would not be compromised and spent a great deal of time with the Acorn Surveyor on that point. We were very impressed at the amount of detailed work he undertook. We specifically asked for the same team we had last year to undertake this work and Acorn were happy to agree to that. This helped enormously in reducing some of the stress of having such major work undertaken. Brad and Dave are outstanding craftsmen and we have been so impressed at the quality of their work. In order to retain the character of the house a significant amount of joinery was required. Moulded timber architrave was cut to match the original window surround. Matt undertook this work with great skill. We suspect that there were some additional costs incurred, for example a plumber had to remove radiators for plastering to be completed and lead work had to be undertaken which had not been anticipated. But the original quote for the work was not altered. From start to finish we were so impressed with the quality of work undertaken and the house is now completely double glazed without the character of the house being compromised. Well done Acorn.

We have used Acorn many times over the past few years to install doors, windows, a conservatory and a garden room. On each occasion, the work has been of a very high standard and when any remedial work has been required they have attended to it promptly without any quibble. Timekeeping has been very good and on the rare occasion where there was a problem, they let us know of the change well in advance. I would have no hesitation in recommending them, in fact, have done so on many occasions to friends.
