Acute did a substantial amount of work for us. Initially, they stepped up and replaced two faulty skylight windows which, given the height of the ceiling, proved to be challenging. They followed this up with a replacement of half of our roof in an attempt to address a persistent water leak that has been problematic for a number of years. Communication with the company was good (mostly email). Their work was done on time and on budget. There was an initial problem with one of the windows that was promptly fixed. The quality of the work was excellent and the work crews were friendly and courteous. The work was not cheap, but you get what you pay for and value for money was good. I am very pleased and look forward to continuing to work with Acute on repairs to water damage incurred by the leaking roof.

Architect drew plans for a new basement, ground, and first-floor side extension. Big job. Quotes were way over our budget so we adapted to 'just' the ground and first floor. Involved taking the side of the existing house off, central wood burner in the downstairs and old-style chimney breast and stack double pot chimneys through vaulted ceiling. New additional staircase too. Paul and Acute Homes impressed from the start. Local is always good and this was further exemplified by Acute's simple and open style of structured invoicing and an agreement that all extras would be confirmed by email and a costing. That worked very well. Work was completed in a timely manner and where problems in 'interpreting' the Architect's drawings occurred we found Acute to be Problem Solvers not creators. A friendly, hard-working and ever-present foreman and excellent workers and relationships with Trades. Was it cheap? Nope... Was the work good and of a quality we expected? Yes. Timely? Yes. Was it an overall good experience? Yes. Would we use them again. Without hesitation... Finally what could they do better? Not really their area but anything green (trees, hedging plants, lawn reinstatement) is not for them. Keep that out of the quote..

Acute carpentry completed an attic conversion for us and we cannot recommend them highly enough. They are extremely professional (turning up on time every day and emailing information/decisions as appropriate), a pleasure to deal with (considerate, polite and clean) and importantly, do all work to a very high standard. We were particularly impressed with how proactive they were - never assuming any decision, however small - meaning that there were no surprises in the end product or final cost.

Acute Carpentry's work was excellent. They kept us informed of what they where doing, and dealt with the problems they discovered. They always let us know the cost of any extra works required. They discussed changes where they felt things could be improved. Their staff were friendly and helpful. We were so pleased with their work later to do extra jobs we required.

We had some Velux windows fitted. The work was done very well and the people involved were very professional and friendly. They solved some problems created by other workmen without complaint. We are very pleased with the results. Overall the company has been extremely helpful.

The advice, communication and follow up from Paul was excellent and the repair to our Velux window was completed efficiently by Jacob, who was very helpful and polite.

I can't thank Paul enough for his help over the last month. His expertise solved a major problem for me right in the middle of a house sale; his generosity not only delivered the solution, but removed the stress. Next year I hope to embark on an exciting property development. I have found my carpenter - very much looking forward to working together to create the wow factor.

I initially contacted Acute Homes to survey our leaking roof windows. Paul demonstrated his experience as he identified multiple issues with the flashing kit installation. Whilst pricing the replacement works Paul advised us to contact the window manufacturer to ascertain if there were any issues with the window itself which would result in us avoiding unnecessary expenditure. On discussions with the manufacturer, they came to the same conclusion as Paul that the flashing kit were installed incorrectly. It was reassuring that both Paul and the manufacturer reached the same conclusion, so I knew Acute were the contractor to proceed with. On instruction to proceed Paul advised works would commence in 2 weeks’ time and his team would arrive at 7:30 to commence the works. Lo and behold both Sam and James arrived at 7:30 to hit the ground running. Whilst carrying out the work they found a few issues and were happy to rectify without hesitation. I cannot recommend Acute highly enough their attention to detail, professionalism, quality and standard of work was second to none. In addition, they kindly installed blinds to our windows so our children could sleep without disruption at night. This just sums up the character of Acute going above and beyond for their customers/clients. Overall, I probably annoyed Paul chasing him for updates along the way, but I am glad Acute carried out the works and would recommend them to others without hesitation.

The team replaced a pair of ageing Velux windows. The team did a professional job with minimal disruption and very good at tidying up after themselves. A couple of issues cropped up during the work (to do with the original installation) and the implications of these were well explained to us. Overall, be happy to use Acute again for future work.

We had to replace our leaking conservatory roof and increase the pitch of the multiple Velux skylights in the roof. Paul was very helpful from the quote visit and identified problems with what we originally intended to do, and proposed a better quality solution. The job was done to a very high quality finish and within a good timeframe. There were some issues that came up during the job (which could have only been uncovered once work started) and these were resolved quickly and with good communication and advice. The guys who did the work were friendly and accommodating, and there was a minimum of disturbance to us while the work was being done. I would recommend Acute without hesitation.

Paul's team arrived to install another Velux window and a beam across the fireplace. The guys arrived early and took the time to understand the work required and what I needed to be achieved. Whenever they came up against a problem, they took the time to explain to me what the issue was and how it could be solved, making sure I was comfortable with the solution. They were very clean and tidy, and very pleasant chaps. This was the second velux Paul's team had installed, and I am happy to recommend them.

My wife & I contacted acute homes Asking for an estimate on a single storey extension. We wanted a no hassle job , worry free & that’s what we got ! Acute Carpentry installed a Velux skylight in a remote building with no services and did a brilliant job - helpful visit to site to agree what to do - excellent installation while we were away - all left tidy. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Acute Homes undertook a knock-through between three rooms to create an open-plan kitchen/dining/family space. The work included ripping out, fitting steels, electrics, plumbing, levelling the floor and fitting the kitchen. The fees were transparent and Paul worked with me at all stages to look at costs. It was helpful to have that when unexpected changes were necessary. All of the team worked very efficiently and arrived to start work at 7.30 each day. All of the trades were on hand to respond to changes in schedule so no hold ups or lag time were experienced. The plan worked in well with our kitchen delivery ready for fitting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul and his Acute Homes team.

Acute Homes built me a fantastic garden office with integrated storage space and covered decking at the front. We are delighted with the project and the space has proved invaluable whilst working from home during the pandemic.
