Our end-of-terrace cottage was built c.1890 and we asked Aidan to refurbish our roof, which included removing all tiles, installing a lining (unlined until now), new battens, chimney lead flashing and replacing worn and broken tiles. Assisted by Adam, he completed a first rate job. He took great care over every stage of the work, explained each day where the job had got to and ensured that our adjoining neighbours were comfortable at all times with a scaffolding tower that needed to be put up on their side for roof access to the rear. All waste was removed and working areas cleaned. Aidan and Adam were a pleasure to have working with us and we have the assurance that our roof is fit for the future.

Aidan and Adam did some repairs to one of my roof valleys and cleared moss from both too. They also checked there were no other problems. From the initial visit to inspect and advise me of what was required, I was impressed by their helpful and polite approach. They arrived when stated, didn't waste any time and didn't leave a mess. I would use them again and have no hesitation in recommending them if you need help with your roof.

Aidan and his team, reroofed our 1930s house, reusing most of the existing tiles, installing new felt and battens. All lead work was replaced, chimneys capped and new guttering installed. The quality of the work has been excellent, with high quality materials used. Our outside space was left tidy at the end of every day. Communication was good throughout; With a fast response to request to quote. Updates throughout the job of what / when they could do depending on weather and afterwards. And quickly responding to / sealing some guttering a few weeks after the job was done when I spotted a small leak. The work was carried out the agreed price, despite weather delays. The quote was competitive with ones I'd had in the past.

We had a dormer flat roof replaced; new guttering; rotten timber beneath the dormer pitched roof plastic fascia replaced and new fascia installed; dormer pitched roof repointed; gable end of 2 story house repointed and facia made weatherproof; chimney cowl installed which allows us to use our gas fire; ridge tiles repointed; chimney lead flashing made secure; replaced damaged felting in back roof. The team arrived on time and not only did they carry out a professional job with the repairs but also cleaned the fascia of the complete house. They not only did an excellent job but also cleaned up every night after they had finished.

We cannot recommend Aidan Carroll and his men high enough. They recently replaced our roof and guttering. This was done very efficiently, with the minimum of fuss and disturbance, and at a fair and reasonable price. Aidan and team were not only friendly and courteous, but they took great pains to carefully explain what they were doing, and what we should expect and by when. In fact, they went further than this ? even coming out spontaneously on a number of occasions when they thought the high winds and rain were causing us alarm. We are absolutely delighted with the top quality work and assurances Aidan has provided. He is a dedicated and highly professional businessman, with excellent interpersonal skills. He richly deserves the various industry body accreditations he is receiving, and we would happily give his name and details to anyone who needs roofing work undertaken.

Aidan has restored our faith in roofers. He always replied to texts/calls, always kept us informed about progress, always turned up when he said he would, and stuck to the quoted price. He did a really excellent job on replacing our ageing roof, which had been bodged up many times previously, and did so with the minimum of fuss or mess. You might have to wait a while before he can fit you in, but he is absolutely worth waiting for.

Aidan came over to check my roof. He came at the agreed time and described his service and the guarantee he offered, which all sounded good to me. He took measurements and told me that he would send me a quote in 2-3 days. However, I didn't receive any quote or any communication from him after that. I texted him a week later to ask if he was going to send me a quote. It has been another week and he hasn't bothered to reply to my text either. I feel I have wasted my time. If he was not interested in the job, it would have been nice of him to say so, rather than leaving me hanging.

Aidan was knowledgeable, realistic and straight forward, not only when he first identified the location and nature of the problems in my roof but also during the course of its replacement. He worked tirelessly, sometimes in difficult circumstances and he always paid attention to detail. He and his team retained focus throughout and brought the project in on time and within budget. Aidan has a wealth of experience and expertise which he shares cheerfully with his clients. I was kept well informed and given choices wherever possible. And at the end, he sent me a portfolio of photographs charting the progress of work from start to finish with a very polished final product.

We have a listed farmhouse and outbuildings with a mixture of old clay and slate tiles. Aidan and his team quoted for the work and completed it in a timely manner. He was very considerate and the quality of his work is excellent. His attention to detail and experience was demonstrated, spotting areas that needed renovation that I had not seen. He walked round with me to show me what work had been done and to ensure I was completely satisfied before he packed up and left, taking with him all broken tiling. I would recommend Aidan without hesitation.

During a period of heavy rain, I discovered that the roof of my extension was leaking badly and water was coming down through the ceiling. After being let down by a number of roofers who said they did not have time to fix it, Aidan Carroll came the very next day to look at the leak and did a temporary repair the next Monday morning. He and his friendly crew later renewed the whole roof to a high standard for a reasonable price and did not charge more than quoted, although some unexpected problems with the roof turned up. They cleaned up everything afterwards and Aidan even gave me some free advice about other troubles with my house unrelated to the roof. So I can thoroughly recommend Aidan Carroll and his A&J Traditional Roof Renovations

Our roof was leaking rain into our young daughters bedroom. Aidan and his team came round, explained what required doing and gave us clear options & pricing. The prices quoted were decent, and after they expertly completed the job the cost seemed tiny! I called Aidan on a Saturday based on the reviews and ratings here. The job was to replace a couple of tiles dislodged by my son trying to kick his football over the house! Aidan offered a visit the next working day, and then called later that same day after it started raining to offer a visit on Sunday if I was concerned that any water was getting in. I thought that was very good of him. Fortunately there was not water getting so, so I waited until Monday, and he arrived with his men at exactly the time agreed, and they got to work assessing the problem and repairing it. They made sure to protect the roof while working on it and because they managed to do the repair fairly quickly, charged me less than the estimate. Very happy to recommend him.
