Tony phoned me and quoted £600 to enlarge my loft hatch and install better ladders. When he came he changed the price to £650 saying there was more work to do. Was happy with the work at first but a gap left in the ceiling was covered with MDF which should have been plasterboard he did say he didn't have any plasterboard but just 5 minutes down the road from me is wicks x Homebase (at the time Tony said this, my husband thought he was going to fix it and sort the gap out with plasterboard. When I had to call in an electrician to move my ceiling light he commented that what he had done was wrong. Today I've had the plasterer in to to remove the MDF and plaster it properly. Steve the plasterer tried to get the screws out Tony had screwed the MDF to the archives he tried for 20 mins but one of the screws would not come out so had to break the Archive to remove the MDF to carry out what he came to do. I phoned Tony and told him this but he basically called us x the plasterer liars and said the screw would have come out easily, obviously it didn't. Although Tony and grandson was very polite while on the job and rest of the work was reasonable, he did clear up after in my house but left my drive and bins covered in sawdust it was a right mess.

A first rate job from beginning to end. Clear quotation given on first visit. All options clearly explained. Small deposit taken on order. Work then completed at agreed time to an excellent standard. Clear explanation of working of new door. Site cleared on completion of work. Full explanation of arrangements in case of any future malfunction. Reasonable price. I would recommend without any reservation. It was a pleasure to deal with AJP.

Originally had two single garage doors separated by a brick pillar. AJP removed the pillar, reinforced the lintels and replaced the two single doors with a full width electrically operated unit. Also installed a side door to the garage in a finish to match the main door. Extremely pleased with quality of the products and professional standards of workmanship throughout the installation, site left clean and tidy on completion. Would have not hesitation in recommending AJP to anyone considering having work done on garage doors or similar.

AJP took on my project when others weren’t interested. (putting a single door on a double garage and getting rid of the central pillar.) The job was organised with precision and the result was brilliant. Clean and tidy job with polite service. I had them return to put in a side door. Brill. Even did me a little job on the greenhouse. AJP Home Improvements Ltd replaced my loft ladder today. They arrived on time, the work was carried out professionally. It was of the highest standard and I am very pleased with the result. The loft ladder is sturdy, and easy for me (a 72 year old lady) to use. It is a small, family business and very friendly and approachable. They gave good advice as to a loft ladder that would suit my purpose. Once installed they explained how to operate it. The price for the work was competitive and fair. I know that as they are local I will receive any aftercare needed, although I am sure none will be needed. I have now asked them to install top up loft insulation for me.
