We moved to an Edwardian house, so wanted to work with a firm that had expertise in installing double glazing in older properties. I was impressed with Douglas on our first meet. It was also good to have the option to pop by the show room so as to visualise what the end result was like – staff there were equally as friendly as Douglas. Quality of workmanship was excellent. The team were able to install the new double glazed units without damaging existing timber architraves, which wasn’t easy. At the same time, where existing internal architraves had to be removed we opted for Edwardian-style white primed MDF over plastic – an option that we couldn’t get from others. Throughout, communication was excellent – from providing detailed emails advising on ideas to quickly responding to last minute changes. Douglas and his team is a very different animal to other players in the sector. Rather than high pressured tactics, this family run a firm that provide competitive prices and warm, polite and friendly advice. I’d have no hesitation recommending them. Months after we had the windows installed, I think one of our visitors had damaged one of the bedroom monkey tail handles (not entirely sure). We called up Alaskan for advice. Impressively they sent over the boss of the company and a colleague to take a look. They fixed the problem immediately without any fuss, bother and at no additional cost. Completely amazed.

Needing to replace an old ill functioning double glazed patio door we contacted 3 companies from Which trusted traders. Doug & Michael from Alaskan listened to what we wanted made valid and constructive comments and left us with a printed quote for our original requirement and their suggested alternative which included replacing an adjoining window. From the 3 quotes we chose their suggestion which we felt was well priced. Overall we were very impressed with the whole handling of our enquiry from beginning through quote and paperwork to the product and its installation. We also appreciated the admin documents and clarity from Nikki in the office and the always prompt replies we received. My experience with Alaskan Windows has been all positive. They reacted quickly to my quote request and provided me with a clear document. No pressure to decide quickly. The quote was very good value compared to others, so I decided to order five casement windows and one door with them. They were all installed on the same day with a big team of men. In the middle of the day I thought my house was never going to be the same again, but they managed to do the job in one (long) day and left the place spotless. Very happy with the windows and the installation.
