We have just moved house and I needed to change our locks. I contacted Tracy at Alban Locksmiths and she confirmed a call out appointment for the very next day. Mikey came out, perfectly on time (he did actually call me 3 minutes before to let me know he was on his way) and did a sterling job. He advised on the correct locks for our front door and our french doors, he didn't try to upsell or add on stuff we didn't need. He was lovely and chatty, completed the work within half an hour and took a copy of our front door key back to the shop to get more copies done on my request. Such brilliant service from the whole team. Highly, highly recommend.

They are very close to me so I went to their confidence inspiring bricks and mortar presence. Although I told them that it was not an emergency I received a call later that day and booked for the next day. They called to check before arrival and quickly and efficiently sorted the problem. I was half expecting expensive replacements but the door was opened and the existing mechanism was removed, repaired and refitted. Clear and professional knowledge of an old locking system. An obvious go to if future lock problems.

I wanted to change the lock on my existing front door to make it more secure. The manager of the shop had to do some research for me in order to provide the correct fittings and handles. He also explained to me why the job was not entirely straightforward but after a few days he got back to me with good news that he had found the appropriate kit that would fit my door. We fixed up a date and time; their engineer turned up promptly and had changed the lock in 15 minutes. He also gave me good advice about using the new lock. Best of all, I was expecting the bill to be much higher because I live about 25 miles from their shop. Well done Alban Locksmiths.

Can't recommend enough! Called them Friday morning as my 92yr old Father's front door lock was old and worn. The Carers were struggling to lock/unlock it. Took photos, sent to them, they messaged back immediately, I explained the situation was fairly urgent and they said they would be out within a couple of hours! So helpful, polite and considerate to my Dad. The work was carried out to a high standard and very reasonably priced £108 for a new barrel, 5 keys and the labour. I couldn't be there but to be honest I didn't need to be. Absolutely fantastic service, thank you so much!

Have (well had) a back door were the lock was very “fragile” & contacted alban to replace the complete lock (parts £105.00 + labour) guy turned up - bang on time - & serviced the existing lock, saved us £105.00 !! Very friendly, local company with excellent product knowledge & a very good reputation Very pleased!!!

We contacted Alban locksmiths on 3rd May and they attended the site on time as agreed the next morning. We have a bifold door with a very 'crunchy' lock that didn't always close and lock. Alban locksmiths attended and investigated the lock, he isolated the issue and said he would try to repair the damaged section on site otherwise it would require replacing. Our engineer worked diligently on the part to repair it ( saving us a new part cost) and then refitted the part and tested for correct operation. The engineer was knowledgeable and undertook all the work in under one hour. He was efficient and left our house clean and exactly as he found it We wish we had called them earlier as we now have a lovely, smooth actioned lock that opens and closes perfectly every time. We recommend Alban locksmiths wholeheartedly and will use them in the future for any works we require and will recommend them to our friends and neighbours.

Our front door lock failed and Nick responded quickly. He assessed the problem was not the lock but a broken hinge causing misalignment. He made the door secure and lockable and recommended a new hinge. Nick brought a new set of hinges for the multi lock door, but was able to do a permanent job with only one. This saved us a significant amount of money. Therefore I endorse Alban Locksmiths as a very honest company and will use and recommend them in the future. Nick was very professional, pleasant and tidy.

Needed to replace the bottom lock on a glass door in one of the shops at Heritage close, Timpson locksmiths attended but said the glass door needed to be taken off to change the lock so declined job, Called Alban locksmiths who promptly sent a chap round, had the new lock fitted within 20 minutes. Really professional and friendly people, always do a great job at my house. I'm ok at DIY but have had to call Alban Locksmiths three times in the last few years when I have had a really technical problem with a lock; each time they have been so willing to look at the job, which has never been straightforward, and they have always completed the job carefully and to an excellent standard. This latest job for them was a 20 year old lock and handle which was truly falling apart, I could no longer repair it, so they painstakingly took it apart and rebuilt it, adding some improvised new parts as they went. I've used their retail shop several times, again excellent people in there giving great help and advice.

Alban Locksmiths came to look at a lock to our front door that was no longer working. They arrived promptly, explained clearly what was wrong with the lock that needed replacing, carried out the work quickly and efficiently and cleaned up well afterwards. They were very polite and considerate and very easy to deal with.

Very helpful in shop. Fitter called later that day and completed work quickly with no fuss. Fitter was helpful and explained the work he was doing. Clean and tidy. Happy with the work and would recommend.

We required the lock on our patio doors to be replaced. The locksmith came round within one hour of my making an enquiry at the shop and the lock was fixed later that day once the required part had been received. From my initial contact with Tony in the shop, my phone conversation with John, to the work carried out by Nick at my home, Alban Locksmiths have been courteous, kind to an elderly lady, and professional. Engineer turned up on time, worked cleanly and efficiently - also saved me a great deal of stress and money by quickly identifying the fault and recommending a remedy. My SSI husband can now also easily identify the required key. I can heartedly recommend Alban Locksmiths.

Summary The work was done to cost and time and is working well with no mess to clean up. The workman was professional and courteous. Albans locksmith were prompt in coming to see how to do the required job, to change an old deadlock for a new night latch to give us more security. They identified the work and parts required gave me an estimate of the cost and timescale when they could actually undertake the work. They rang a few days later to confirm they had the parts and to arrange the work to be undertaken. They completed the work as promised and left no mess at all. They demonstrated the working of the new lock, took payment over the phone and left two happy customers.

I had my locks replaced on my front door, I had a really good conversation with the team in the shop about the pros and cons of different locks - very factual not selling. Then the locksmith who came to install was fast, efficient & neat & made sure I knew all the lock features before he left. Would definitely recommend them.

Following a successful connection of our new front door to a remote entry system by Nick, arrangements made to replace lock mechanism in entry gates to apartments. Measurements taken during first job and items specially ordered. Pete called by appointment to install and the finished job is neat and works perfectly. A very efficient service all round.

I have been using this company on behalf of my church for over twenty years for replacement locks and for the cutting of additional keys. They always give sound advice, and are friendly, fast and efficient when I visit them with my requests. We have keys with a security number, with two named cardholders authorised to have extras cut. On one occasion, I forgot to produce my card on arrival and, on looking at the original from which I wanted the keys cut, the locksmith shook his head and said he couldn't help me with "that kind of key". I then remembered to show my authorisation card, at which he declared that all was well after all and proceeded to cut the keys. Very impressive! I am told by friends that not all locksmiths are so conscientious about checking for authorisation.

The lock, on our aluminium framed Everest back-door, was stuck in the locked position. I requested the service on Tuesday this week, but explained that it was not very urgent. Today, Thursday, the locksmith, Nick, arrived as arranged having phoned to ensure I was at home. I was amazed at his patience and professionalism as the locked door prevented access to remove the broken lock. Eventually, the door was opened and the lock removed. Nick had a new replacement lock available which he fitted efficiently and carefully. Our door is now as new and we are delighted. Nick has more than 25 years working as a locksmith and his skill was obvious. I can recommend this excellent company particularly for their very reasonable costs.

Just wanted to review this company as they were so professional. Told me the various prices that I might be met with depending on the nature of the problem, so that I knew the very worst it could be, all inclusive of VAT. Turned up the same day at exactly the time they said they would and had the broken lock changed within half an hour/ forty five minutes. Cost less than £100 all in and there was no mess. Stunning service.

On returning home from our holiday we found that the mortice lock on our front door had jammed. We contacted Alban Locksmiths who arrived within an hour and got us back into our home quickly. It was not straightforward and the work was completed within half an hour.

Alban Locksmiths repaired the broken lock on our patio doors. They came within two hours of our request and repaired the lock within an hour. They were friendly, efficient and good value. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others.

I’ve had these guys out before (when I locked myself out!) and they were great then - this time my patio door lock broke just before the heatwave! They came out within a few hours, managed to fix the existing lock and also sorted me out with some extra keys for my windows. Really nice, trustworthy company - would recommend to all my friends and family.

I asked Alban Locksmiths to sort out three different locks in a flat which had recently been vacated by tenants. The locksmith arrived promptly at 8.30am, as scheduled, and worked solidly until 1.30pm. The first two jobs - fitting replacement bolts to a garage door and additional locks to a patio door - were completed quickly. However, replacing the lock on the front door proved to be quite a challenge as the door and its frame were both worn and fitting the new lock in the same place as the old lock involved a lot of adjustment until everything worked properly. The work took longer than anticipated, but I was billed for the amount I was quoted. I would be happy to use Alban Locksmiths again and to recommend them to others.

My business has used the services of Alban Locksmiths for many years. They have always been extremely helpful and friendly and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them. Recently needed adjustment on front door lock. As a business centre that requires 24 hour entry for a number of clients, a front door not locking/opening would be a complete nightmare! I rang the shop and explained the issue and was told somebody would be round at 2 pm i.e. 1 hour from the phone call. 2 pm the person turned up and refixed the lock to enable it to function correctly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
