Alex and his team fitted a door and window to our new porch. I have used Alex before and this job was completed quickly and to a high standard, similar to other work he has done for me in the past. His team are very business-like, but friendly and approachable. I have some more window replacement work coming up and I will certainly be using Alex.

I had seen Alex's windows and doors completed on several neighbours who highly recommended Alex so I was confident before meeting Alex in the process of obtaining several quotes that I would be very happy if I went with Alex. It was very evident that Alex was highly experienced (>30 years doing this( when he came to measure up and very likeable and someone who would do what they said. That Alex would be directly involved in the fitting further inspired confidence. My personal preference is always to use those who own and run their own business for obvious reasons rather than a company where the quote provider will not be the fitter etc. Not only was Alex the lowest quote, but also the highest specification and also the only provider who could provide two more complex arched windows. Alex required a 25% deposit to place the order and nothing would be payable until everything was completed to my absolute satisfaction. Alex kept me appraised to the progress of the manufacturing during the lead time and Alex and the team (he has worked with Gary for over 30 years too since setting up the company) and his son, Jay, who is also clearly very experienced. The three work together very nicely and where there are just the three of them in the company you can be sure who you will get and therefore the quality. They all worked very hard and with great care. I could not be happier. The windows look very smart and the difference in warmth to the old windows is chalk and cheese.

Alex Dobson replaced 14 windows and 5 doors in my house. He and his crew completed the job in 3 days and left the house clean and tidy, with virtually no need to touch up any paintwork. The job was completed to the agreed plan, timescale and budget. Alex took the time to talk about the window and door systems he proposed and was happy to accommodate changes to initial design up until the order was placed. There was one slight issue when the manufacturer sent some incorrect trims but Alex spotted this before the start of the job and arranged for the correct ones to be suppled but this did take two attempts - all correct now. I can't comment on aftercare as the job has only just been finished but he has said he will return to resolve any problems, if necessary

Alex and his colleague recently fitted our new front door and I am so happy with the whole procedure. The quote we were given was very reasonable. We had three windows and our front door replaced. Alex responded promptly to my initial request for an estimate, and sent a reasonable estimate shortly afterwards. He did not try to persuade me to replace windows that didn't need replacing, which I found reassuring. He kept me informed as to the progress of the order from his supplier. On the agreed day for the installation he arrived promptly at eight am and covered all relevant carpets and furniture to protect them from dust. Alex quoted for fitting a new door - undecutting one other quote we had. He kept us well informed of the delivery times which were disrupted because of the coronavirus, and then arranged a date, arrived on time, fitted the door perfectly, cleared up and left. Perfect.

Our Monarch aluminium conservatory has had a polycarbonate roof since being built 25 years ago. We decided that an upgrade to glass panels would improve both temperature control and appearance of the roof. Mr Dobson was prompt to reply to enquiries, and of the quotes we received, was the most competitive and he offered sensible advice as it was not really necessary to replace the whole roof! The existing polycarbonate panels were templated on one visit and then the Activ Blue glass panels fitted a few weeks later. The roof has been completely transformed by this glass and now gives a modern airy look to the conservatory. We highly recommend this company.

Alex removed a course of bricks to lower the existing high threshold and fitted a new door in a doorway which was not even all the way around. He's made a really neat job and has managed to remove or conceal all of the old white sealant on the brickwork. Everything was cleared away at the end of the job. Alex clearly has an eye for detail and cares about the quality of his work. He has been polite and well organized and the price was also better than the other quotes I had.

Very happy with the way Alex and James carried out the work and I'm pleased that we went to a small local company rather than one of the major ones. Work was carried out exactly on schedule and to the agreed budget. In spite of the filthy weather on the day, they ensured a minimum of disruption and mess. Both were hard working and a pleasure to have in the house. In addition to replacing our front windows, they willingly did a few extra jobs on niggles we had with existing doors. They couldn't do one of these as a new part is needed, Alex is seeking this and will come back to do the final job if he is successful.

We asked Alex to replace a square bay window, hallway window and front door. From our initial meeting, he was friendly, helpful and flexible. We already had our sights set on a particular brand of window and Alex was able to accommodate. For the door, Alex made recommendations and clearly explained the pros / cons of each option. Once we had made a decision, Alex and James were able to start work much quicker than I had expected. They were friendly, tidy and completed the work to an exceptionally high standard. What really struck me was the attention to detail; spotting and rectifying any imperfections without needing to be asked. I can be quite particular, so this was something I valued immensely. If I spotted something, Alex never made me feel like I was being picky or unreasonable (as I have felt with some tradespeople!) and was quick to offer solutions. Other little things, like the use of 4 or 5 different kinds of sealant to ensure the best finish, discreet plastic trim (instead of the large trims some fitters use), the care taken to get perfect mitres on the window board, to name just a few, speak volumes of the pride that Alex and James take in their work. Since having the windows and door fitted, they have been admired by many visitors; one was so stunned by the quality of workmanship that they started to doubt their own choice of fitter! We contracted Alex to refit our entire house's double glazing to replace a mixture of ages and styles. Alex was very helpful and patient while we were deciding what to do and advised during the selection process. Mr Dobson replaced a set of UPVC white French Doors (opening inwards) in the upper floor lounge in my home. The original French Doors had been installed when the house was build and so the entire frame had to be sawn out and removed, which was done very efficiently. The installation of the new French Doors followed and the result was immaculate. The work was completed in one morning for the exact price quoted. Mr Dobson and his colleague were very courteous and cleaned up very tidily after completing the work. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I had a unit of windows and French doors replaced. Good start as there are no pushy salesman to deal with. When quoting Mr Dobson made practical and sensible suggestions about how to deal with the tumble dryer vent and sink drain and changing the layout of the unit from the original. He was clear about when the work could be done and gave me ample notice of his starting date. Quote was a good price. He and his colleague turned up on time; they were quick and tidy workers; paid attention to detail; and cleared up well when they'd finished. The unit itself is well made and solid. I cannot recommend the firm highly enough - a pleasure to do business with.

A stone, catapulted from the lawn mower, completely smashed the fixed window of our patio door. We obtained a few quotations from local companies, including the firm which initially had installed the patio door, which turned out to be the most expensive.
